Nice! I like how clean and simple it all looks.
I wonder when this will get ported to other ROMS

I guess somebody can move the whole M9 Rom to other phones. They did this on Milestone successfully.
Very nice and elegant.
This is probably the only made-in-China product that I'll happily endorse.
I have an M9 too, this website needs a forum for it. It needs to be rooted!

It is a good idea. But Meizu is only a small company. Whatever Apple or Motorola are much bigger than Meizu. Actually M9 is a good cellphone.
I love the M9, I would buy it if it weren't so expensive (US$450). Is there any place that sells it cheaper than that?

The standard price in China is RMB 2499 yuan. About 380 dollars.
M9 with Android which had deep customized by Meizu, I really want to get an origial Android system on it.
M9 is just pure awesome. But a Tegra 2 might be more so

Chinaecarts

Hi there,
I'm considering buying this phone: chinaecarts com/samsung-galaxy-s3-12ghz-dual-core-48inch-mtk6577-android-40-16gb-phone-p-3095.html
However I've never bought from them before. So, has anyone else had any experience with them before? Are they safe to buy from?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately I decided not to order, because I looked at other reviews and many other people said that they got scammed by Chinaecarts. Also many people have mentioned that they are unable to contact their customer support at all once they have purchased(/been scammed).
Moneygram specifically say on their website not to use it to pat for items, and that it could indicate a scam.
A real shame because Chinaecarts appear to be the only seller selling this phone. I may still buy a MTK6577 device (now I'm looking at the Haipai X710d) so long as it is the best I can get in my budget of £190.
tl;dr: I wouldn't recommend buying from them.
The general rule of internet is usually, if it's too good to be true, it is. I guess that even if they would send something (which I doubt) you'll get a "fake" replica or something like that. I'm glad you decided not to order there, since it would be sad if you'd lose your money.

If the OEM is not going to release kernel source than your choices for customizing the phone will be limited.
Also, there are 2 threads devoted to questions about devices, please post your question in one of these two threads:

Non Smartphones in the Forum?

Are there any non-smartphones in this forum? I thought there must be at least one basic/feature phones must be cool enough to talk about in this forum. How about the best cheapest phone out there, the $18 Blu Tank II? It has so many features it is almost like a smartphone, it just does not have data.

out of curiousity.. what kind of cpu is on the non smartphone phone? this will give you the answer btw..
its not about how cool the phone is, just so you know.
They don't have the CPU listed. So it must not have one. Ha, ha, ha. Just joking. I get the point.

Nice! I like it. I have not even heard of the Palm Centro.

Looking at older model used phones.. but which ones to look for ?

edit 2 Sorry, I think this should have been in the Q&A thread? I can't see any option to move it there, or delete this post, and make a new one there. Sorry
Hey guys,
Have been looking on ebay at phones released around 2-3yrs ago for a new(used) upgrade from my current HTC ONE X... but I'm not familiar with all the smartphone tech, or issues, or what's decent/bad etc..
Originally I looked at the LG NEXUS 5X, then read it's got a fault that causes it to fail/Bootloop (eventually). Few people said, there's other phones in similar price range that would be better, though none suggested any (yet). Then I looked at the NEXUS 6P, but, I read again, these have a bootloop fault too ??
Are there any phones that have gotten a good reputation, probably 2014> that still perform well today, but aren't plagued with hardware faults? I don't mind if I have to repair / reflash firmware etc.. as one reason I look at ebay, hope to pickup a phone for cheap (due to broken.. ie screen, not starting up), then fix it.
Price range, around $100, but obviously price for phone will vary depending on phone and condition etc..
[edit] I should have noted, I'm from Australia, so phone prices vary here. Maybe, if you can, throw some suggestions my way, and I'll look around based on what I can spend.
Suggestions on what to look out for ?
Thanks in advance,
