hi guys today after one month i wanted to update my tablet (gt-n8000)
and my android version is 4.1.2
when i wanted to update with no explanation my tablet wanna download update pake a size of 900 mb
is it a new version of android?
and if i dont like a new Is there a way to back last version?
This is an update for 4.4.2. It is not easy to go back. Here's how it looks and feels: http://youtu.be/bFIVwOS9Zxw . It's a major update as you can see. I don't have it installed atm. So I can't tell you anything more than that.
Wow, this is ugly. And yet another permanent bar that takes precious screen space - I hate that in KitKat, especially since Chrome doesn't hide any of the bars (top or bottom). I think I will stay on old version.

Hey all, I like all others was waiting for 4.0.4 update ota but to my great surprise I received a 2.3.6 update instead today( I was on 2.3.4).... am I alone in getting an old update instead of a new one? I manually checked for updates after I installed 2.3.6 but to no avail... is this part of normal update procedure?

It's a little bit rare but you can try forcing to install downloading the update from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398186
It's for i9020T but it works with i9023 too!
Regards,
Urko
PS: Can anyone thanks me? I can't release my Rom on the Dev section because I don't have 10 posts thanked! Ahh and the post was made a little bit with Google Traductor, I'm 16 years old.. xD Sorry

Hello. I just bought my motorla xoom. Its a pretty old tablet but i still prefer this than those galaxy tabs.
When i try to update, it says it has the latest version but then in the system it is still 3.2. How do you update this tablet? Is it not allowed yet?
Information on my tablet is:
Model Number:
MZ604
Android Version:
3.2
Firmware configuration version:
GAS_ASIA_HUBBLEWIFIHKTWNGEN_P007
Kernel version:
2.6.36.3-00042-g3c1a41e
[email protected] #1
Build Number
H.6.6-27
I hope someone can help me.. im just new at this..
I just bought mine too. It arrived today actually. It came with version 3.1, and, as soon as I went to software updates under Settings, it updated to version 4.0.4
I believe it depends on which country you are.
Unless you want to GEDify your Xoom (as I will do very very soon), then you will receive always the newest updates directly from Google.
BTW, I'm from Brazil.

It is rolled out to everyone in every country, bot NOT at the same time. One day you will get ICS and then JB...
Gedify comes from GED which stands for “Google Experience Device”. A “Google Experience Device” receives its updates directly from Google, without any customization or modification from the device manufacturer.
This is only possible if you flash the US version of Xoom's rom.
MZ604 here in Brazil, there in Philippines and in the US, is MZ604, so there's no problem doing that.
I'm doing it tomorrow!
BTW, if I helped you, hit the Thanks button!
It's done! And Jelly Bean is freaking amazing!

Hey man, i sent my xoom back since i had some problems with my macro shots.. they dont seem to focus well. and when i try it with flash, i only get white pictures. is that normal?
Can you also send me links on how to root-flash-GEDify xoom? if possible though without unlocking bootloader... thanks man...
Unfortunately I won't be able to help you with this... I rarely take photos... even with my Sony smartphone that has an awesome camera.
But I can take some photos to test and see if this is normal. Then I post here my views.
Rooting your xoom won't be possible without unlocking the bootloader. Unless you search for methods using exploits. But those methods didn't work for me but it might be worth a try. So unlocking the bootloader is the best way to root. It's save, pretty easy and you also have the ability to install a custom Rom later on to get jelly bean (I am currently running the cm10 nightlies)

Can you share your Firmware Version, Kernel Version and Build Number as well? After updating to 4.0.4, did your Xoom still have the "Quickoffice HD" app? What I have read from the forums is that GEDifying your Xoom would loose this app since the US-based Xoom does not have Quickoffice HD buddled with the device.

Has anyone upgraded their P5210 to the new release XAR-P5210UEUANB2? I downloaded the firmware last night but am debating loading it. I have multiple backups so if anything goes awry I can put my tablet back to the way I like it. Just trying to figure out if it would benefit me to move to the new version. Couldn't find what the difference was between the new version and the XAR-P5210UEUAMK1 version.
No Difference

I have noticed no difference in any way... I am thinking this might be prep for 4.4.2, they have done this with other Galaxy Models include the Note 3 prior to 4.4.2...
Let's hope...
I find it interesting that a new release was available but very little on what was added/changed/deleted. Well at least nothing that I could find. I might be looking in the wrong places. So, a precursor to 4.4.x release? That could be so. But I have to ask myself if I want to upgrade to KK or not. What will it bring to the Tab 3 10.1 P5210 table? I guess that will be the deciding factor.
Some minor API changes, obviously they are getting prepared for a major update and they try not to break anything.
Nice, so I guess an upgrade will benefit me if I elect to download KK. Thanks
How would I go about upgrading without disturbing my present state and apps? Basically just changing the rom ver and nothing else like data and what not?
My ROM is coming !
With this, your Tab will even more than Galaxy Note 10.1 2014

Hey guys i have bought n8013 last week and google+ and talk was installed on it but when i updated them via playstore, they do not work anymore because when i open them they tell me to update my system even though when i check for updates it shows i have the latest version.
Please help guys its been a week im trying to solve this problem.
Thank you
You'll either have to put a custom rom or roll back versions. Check out gapps early on g+ (use web browser) for previous versions. The n8013 will not get official kitkat (not confirmed but Samsung has proven it by ignoring us for months)

You're running Google Plus 4.5.0.72928916? This is the latest version in the play store. I am running N8013 stock rooted and I got this after I updated to the latest google plus:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+JohnWolf_PDX/posts/dAsRmkuPT2c?cfem=1
Do you have a link to the Android Central leaked Google Plus 4.5.0.72928916 apk that works on 4.1.2? I looked and couldn't find one that worked.
Also, the latest version of hangouts(not sure of the version, I don't have my tablet with me at the moment) just crashes constantly when I open it up.
I really don't want to have to do a factory reset...

I Think I Installed this then installed the latest google plus from play store. This Is the Hangout Dialer app. But if not mistaken its been updated since release.. Sorry im Vague .
I have a similar problem on the N8010 (Belgium).
Hangouts crashes and Google+ asks for an update. Even worse, some Samsung apps (video editor, store) have been pushed last week from samsung themselves having the same problem.
The root cause is that these are applications pushed for android 4.4 (a galaxy s2 gets the same new apps, but compiled/modified for Android 4.1).
In my case, the 4.4 update for the note is pushed to all countries around me (Netherlands, Germany, France, UK,...) but not Belgium yet. Somehow there is a mismatch between the region the play store (and samsung store) thinks should be on kitkat compared to the real rollout.

its possible, To Samsung its probably a old device and theres a half and half chance it wont get Android L, that goes the same for The galaxy s3, they both started on ICS (i think the note 2 started with jelly bean) and have gotten many updates up to kit kat which was very generous of Samsung. if it would get android L it would be about a 6months or a year AFTER Android L has came out, think about it, if your old device has the latest Android L update why go out and buy a brand new $800 phone.

yeah like Sent1n3L said we WILL get android L custom roms, but probably not stock android L.
Android L has not been formally released. Currently it is only delivered to Nexus devices.
The latest version of Android L is not complete and stable. When there is formal version released, there should be custom ROM for Android L on Note 2.
I do not think that Samsung will release Android L update for Note 2 in future.

Probably original N7 will also get Android L when it is released. Since even the oldest N7 now can be updated to latest Android version 4.4.3/4, and its hardware is enough to run Android L.
of course

No.
Google contracts last 18 months or two major updates.
The Note 2 is 24 months old and has had 4.3 and 4.4.2. The end, its support is over.
And the genius above who mentioned the S3: the international version is officially not getting 4.4, the US edition is officially dropped now that it has 4.4 (it had 2GB RAM, the Int veraion 1).
Stop dreaming, that phone is long gone from the update list.
It will not come to the original Note either, and it will also not come to any other device older than 18 months.
No amount of begging, pleading and 'but the hardware can run it' will change their minds.
Your only option will be a customROM.
