[New member] Hello

Hi all,
I'm a reader of xda for years, but i never take the time to subscribe here.
I follow a lot of post, especially frop Indie.
I'm a Omega user over Galaxy s2, s3, and now, i would install it on my new s4.
As i am a new member, i can't posy directly on the thread. I will make a new thread for asking questions.
I am a freelance developer in Java J2ee, having a great experience in Oracle and BI.
Thanx for your forum, and all you skills you are sharing here.

Even if you can't post directly in the Development threads, you are always free to ask a question in the Q&A threads.

Help to choose a phone

I m getting a free gift from my brother , its an open offer for me and i want a awesome phone so i can use till 2016 and it doesnt go outdated to fast and i get the new updates always , like i m using Xperia P , i didnt even get KK :cyclops: So please help me thanks
NOT SAMSUNG PLEASE (i hate sams)
SONY (ok i m using now and my fav us sony)
HTC (ok stylish and nice)

[Q] buying advice...

sir i wanted to buy an android device for around 20000- 25000 INR....... i am pretty confused between Grand 2 and Desire 816 and Moto X ...... which one should i prefer...?????

Grand 2 is having a bad screen quality ( TFT screen ) but is for the other parts a really good device.
Desire 816 would be the best choice except also a screen issue ( pixel per inch pp ) so the screens of the first two are not really pretty, the Moto x is the most stable choice but i would go for the Desire 816

Can i install this app from my phone onto my mothers stock/aosp android device??
I figure worst case is it would tell me no, but I am just wanting to make sure.

Which device do you have, if it's samsung only then you can't install on AOSP from my experience, if it's also for AOSP then you have to install it as a system app, go to your priv-app or app folder and move the APK file into one of the two folders ( i don't know which one anymore ) and give it all permissions or 644 .

Mine is a samsung... but the swype app on mine, to look at it in the settings>apps area, does not say anything about uclj (which i understand basically means, not aosp compatible). I was just thinking i could try her on it since it offers much better word suggestions than hers does currently. Also the ability to have its own dictionary and the ability to add words to the dictionary from right while youre typing or swyping is kind of awesome.

What is the device doing now? Bootlooping, will not power on, stuck in bootloader/Fastboot mode...

Bootloader status, if you know (Locked/Unlocked)

That's not how it works
Custom Roms and Custom Recoveries are built by people who own the device

Yes. I don't What causes it. It crashes every single time i scroll. I can't use my poweramp app. Can you offer some help? Emailed the devs but no reply.
