Micromax A106 Bricked or Not

Just want to know weather I have bricked the phone or it is something else and what it is. I tried to root the phoen with baidu rooter it does is i do not understand chinese so after it had done downloading with the binaries from the net and every thing was over I can delete system app and used app to check the phone was rooted. On installing titatinum backup pro it told me that the binary from the baidu is not stable for the current version use Super user binaries instead I downloaded it and restarted the phone and deleted the baidu but then the apps say it is not rooted, The system error came up . I tried to factory reset now what i am getting is the setup wiz fail then on skippin it no app screen you can acess the setting and then launch from the app if they are available as option. receive call and sms no outgoing so what is the problem and what could be the solution thanks in advance

After using baidu, did you use root checker or some app to confirm if rooting was successful?
at what point exactly did call and sms stop working and does your phone still show signal bars?

Have you tried the kingroot app? It worked for me on my a106 and the latest version is in English. You can find the link right here in the XDA website

Google Messenger 5.0

Hey everyone, here it is, the new SMS app for Lollipop.
Doesn't work well on my G2. I get a force close when I tap the + to write a new sms.

Yep, same FC here, it must require some additional libs from the Lollipop build!

You have to go to Contacts, search the contact you want to write a message and there you touch "write message". So it works.
But in the messenger app the + produces defenitly a fc.
I hope i could help you and my english was not to terrible.

You can't install like a regular APK you need root and install it into system>app

And then it works? Normally yes you don't install you move it to system app and change permissions to 644, rw- r-- r--

I pressume we have to rename the apk and replace the default sms app ?
I can't find the name of the default sms app ... gooling it at this moment but not found any info yet.
Edit : find out the default sms app is in Priv-app folder and name is LGMessage.apk ... but i see yours is from Google , so I'm confused.

^tried a week ago - works perfectly on aosp roms

installed apk like any other app. no FC's or issues. Side note, I did have the default SMS app uninstalled.

Not working without the FC in Cloudy G3, tried it in /app and /priv-app with correct permissions. I don't have the earlier google SMS app installed, but do have LGmessenger and CM Messenger (which is just superb IMO)

Hi mates, anyone found solution for "+" access to contacts? I did rename apk file, removed original lg messenger, move google m. To folder with 644 rights and reboot for clear davlik and cache. But gives me fcs for "+" and "share" . Like material.

Was stated by android police that unless you're on a 4.4.4 + ROM , you'll get fc.

It's for vanilla roms only, on stock it doesn't work

did any of you tried playstore version? (it's been officially released on playstore today)

everything works fine with playstore version (cloudy g3 v2.1 rom, d802 variant)
only thing that doesn't work is the new message popup as in stock roms, but that was expected since it's a lg feature (new messages still show up in the status bar)

i don't know if g2 tweaksbox supports custom themes... i didn't use it since i switched to cloudy g3 ported rom (and g3 tweaksbox)
i think i saw google dialer somewhere as a standalone app, but i don't remember exactly where and if it works 100% without issues on g2...

Just rooted yesterday and decided to install xposed but upon me installing and rebooting. I went to send a text but it just kept showing sending

Recently installed cm12 nightly via flashify. Lost root access. Any idea how to get it back? Also I entered an email id in the email app. Now I wanna delete it but there is no option. I already deleted in settings but it still stays in email app. Any idea how to sync contacts via people on cm12? Pls help.

For root access I believe you first have to enable development settings (which is done by going to about phone and touching the build number until it is enable). After that scroll down and you should see an option that says "Root Access". If you want to turn it on select " App Only" and now apps should be able to trigger root. For the email and sync I'm not sure. I believe the sync option is given when you first add your Google or any other account. For your email problem try going into settings, selecting apps, scrolling down to email and clicking on "clear data" and "clear cache". Then reboot your device.

issue with Galaxy S7 new update G930FXXU1DQIL (messages app)

today i update my s7 to G930FXXU1DQIL and all seems good but messages app.
default messages app work good (send/receive sms) but when i open 1 message and want to add that on spam message with 3 little line on top right symbol app crash.
i don on/off phone also wipe cach data but still happen. cant master reset or factory reset duo my data an also this is no serious problem at all but any solution anybody have?

Are yo root bro? you can update your message app form apkmirror and install it vía TWRP

You don't need root to update system apps, just toggle secure startup, reboot and install them

ok it seems real bug....i do master factory reset without restoring any data and problem still exist. so this is the real bug of this version.
what can i do now? im not root

The issue is present only on BTU/XEU CSC (G930FXXU1DQJ3) ( Did not try others)
Tried PHN (G930FXXU1DQJ1) and ROM (G930FXXU1DQJ3). They are fine.
There is different Samsung Messages version 4.1.31 ( BTU/ROM ) vs Samsung Messages version 4.1.28 ( PHN ). So it should be related to something within CSC not within app version.
I fixed it by installing Samsung Messages 4.2.03.12 Latest version targeting Android 7.0. Newer versions will most likely create more problems.
You can also use Android Messages

ok now seems contacts also has this problem....opening contacts settings cause error and crash...
so pls link default samsung contacts too

Is not crashing for me, so i did not test this version. The one on the phone is 3.1.07.73

I'm having trouble installing APK's from APKMIRROR. In various applications of Samsung e.g. Gallery, Browser, TochWiz, Bixby, Calendar, Clock .... I always get the error message "Application not installed. Package is in conflict with another package with the same name".
I do not have root.
What is noticeable is that after an update from Android (also the monthly security patches) or at a factory reset I am able to install all system apps without problems (also the ones mentioned above) or to run an update. But if I restart the phone, it will not be possible to update system apps anymore. It is always the o.g. Error message displayed.
Can someone tell me why this is so or what I can do, so that the update always works?
Resetting the app (uninstall the updates / empty cache, etc.) brings nothing here.
Where is the problem?

Toggle secure startup to on and then reboot your phone. Install the application.
Settings - Lock screen and security - secure startup. Check require password...
If it is already checked, uncheck it and reboot.
Sometimes you also need an wipe cache from recovery. After you install your app you can toggle secure startup to original state and reboot ?

Thanks for suggestion and link for samsung messages, it worked! The messages problem happened to me as well, on S7 edge dual sim G935FD, and italian update G935XXU1DRA2. Trying to understand what was happening I realised that the application did not crash with sms coming from a program (like those for adverts) but it crashed only for sms coming from a phone number either in the contacts or not.
