For root access I believe you first have to enable development settings (which is done by going to about phone and touching the build number until it is enable). After that scroll down and you should see an option that says "Root Access". If you want to turn it on select " App Only" and now apps should be able to trigger root. For the email and sync I'm not sure. I believe the sync option is given when you first add your Google or any other account. For your email problem try going into settings, selecting apps, scrolling down to email and clicking on "clear data" and "clear cache". Then reboot your device.

Play Store: Server error, Retry

a.s. i like to mess with system apps
So "all of the sudden" google play opens with a grey window stating server error with a button retry.
I tried the following:
1.Cleared cash, data, reboot.
Server error.
2. Let it run for a while as it auto updates.
Server error
3.Uninstalled, installed gp3.7.13.apk
Server error
4. Uninstalled, installed 3.5.19
Server error
5. Installed 3.7.13 back
Server error
In between somewhere the apps name was Market. Now its called Play Store again. Also some service called play store hygiene was running. Still server error. What else can i try?
It all worked well until it didnt. Ow except that for some apps ( that had the ability to install to sd card?) i had to unmount the sd card before installing, or else i wouldve got a message cannot install to usb storage or sd card. ICS problem?
I contacted google. Waiting for a reply...
@ikn0wagh0st ow yeah forgot to mention i am from germany. Haha maybe it is just a server error after all...

Any chance you are on the east coast? We have been having a lot of issues lately with due to the weather.
It still doesnt work! And its more than a day now!
I even tried this tool. http://viewoneworld.wordpress.com/2012/03/24/google-play-server-error-quick-fix/
Didnt try vpn tough, but i mean comon... it worked the other days. What could be wrong?

I reflashed the rom now, and it still doesnt work! The app play store is still the same as before flashing though...
Also i tried the app talk and it also cant sign in!
But when i opened the internet browser i was automatically signed in with the default account.
Google did not reply to my emails (yet?).
Any suggestions?

And your Google account is Ok?
Maybe you have to remove the Google account from your phone and re-create it again.
And no app is preventing Play store from accessing the internet?
(No firewall or filter app)
Play store is working fine ... and I am from Germany too.
Have you checked to access Play store from WLAN and/or mobile internet?
Maybe there is a difference?!
I tried both 3G and wifi. I double checked firewall configs and even disabled it to see if its working. I get the same server error message.
I went to /data/system and deleted accounts.db. Then i rebooted the phone, so the gmail account was no longer there... I started google play store and it was asking for an account. I closed it, went to settings and set up the deleted account again. Then i started google play store and guess what: server error. I feel frustrated.
Also i wrote google an email once and got a promt reply. This time they didnt reply yet.

New approach:
I uninstalled google play, then market and market updater from the phone completely and flashed it with the official sgs2 rom. Then opened the app now called Market, selected my service E-plus: server error. Now im pretty close in believing its some kind of server error after all. Hope itll sort itself out. I feel disconnected without google play.

I solved this issue by doing the following.
1. under > apps > All selecting Google Play/Store and selecting "clear data". I did the same thing for Google App Framework.
2. Reboot
3. Under accounts I removed my gmail account and added it back.
4. Reboot
5. Win
I've had this a few times caused by the time being set wrong on the device. My old wildfire refused to auto sync time and periodically went completely wrong and a few times my tablet has ended up on the wrong time after flashing.
Manually setting time/date works.

Can someone help me? I'm on a sensation xe running cianogen mod 9.1.0.
I can;t seem to get google play store to work! Tried everything and it's driving me insane, help? :/
I keep getting the server error issue. I have tried to delete the account and put it back, reinstall cianogen...but nothing seems to work?
PS.: Where is Google App Framework? I can't seem to find that anywhere!
What i can tell you is that i also reflashed the stock rom, but it didnt't solve the problem until i factory reset it, and flashed the rom again... now im not sure what factory reset would do if u run CM, but if you have a bulletproof bootloader like cwm, then its worth trying... I don't think factory reset changes anything in the boatloader. But i'm no expert, you should check that out.
You shouldnt worry about the framework, if you dont know where it is, you probably didnt uninstall it. Or did you accidently?
Ps. Its spelled cyanogenmod

[Q] SuperSU Cannot change configuration

Hi, first post
I flashed my TMOBILE US [SGH-T999] SIII with root66 and all went well. verified with rootkeeper I'm indeed rooted. Problem is when I first configured superSU i checked hide from apps list (figured id still be able to get it in /system) So although it asks for permission and still fully functional I cannot open the app to change the configuration. There was some codes *#*#1234#*#* amongst others I thought would bring up the app, but because the sim is no longer registered to a network it just gives a network error.
This has been going on for a week and would really appreciate a solution. Going to google play doesn't show any options. just a picture. If i disable in manage apps i can then deactivate on google play, but it didn't help. Also re flashed rom and nothing changed.
Should be able to open the app somewhere on the phone right? use file explorer to delete some config file that will reset to default?

Hi, to open supersu through the dialpad, please enter the following:
*#*#1234#*#*
or
*#*#7873778#*#* which spells(*#*#SUPERSU#*#*)
If that didn't work, check if supersu is still installed by going to manage applications.

Yeah mentioned the codes in my post. my girlfriend has a deathgrip on the phone right now but i'm pretty sure the exact error was: Not registered on network. I also mentioned that superSU is indeed installed cause I can clear su's data, etc from the manage apps area. I use groove IP for phone calls and I've been putting the code in the phone settings not the groove voip app if that matters.
bumped after a few days of waiting patiently.
Hi i was having similar issues, did you try
*#234#* instead of *#*#234#*#* that worked for me before although my issue now is different.
i was getting an error and work around it by installing
System app remover (root) from play store
then went to apkmanger and click on reinstal Supersu, that bring back the icon
that did not solve my problem of the dialing code not working anymore, but it got me to super su app
hope it helps

Cannot sign in after stupid mistake.

Ok hi everyone. I gave my phone to my cousin because he said that he could get me a bunch of coins on this game i love playing. Well turns out he installed an application that cheated the system called "Freedom". Well now I cannot access the Google Play Store. Everytime I try it gives me an error message. I have turned off and on my phone several times. I am rooted btw. Well I did not know what to do and I searched online a little and a guy said that restoring your phone worked for him. Well at this point i did not even care for the apps i would lose. I just went ahead and restored my phone completely. Now at the beginning screen when I type in my Google email and password it just says that it cannot connect. I skipped over that whole process and when I scroll down with two fingers from my notification bar, I see the wifi tile and it is connected to my wifi but the bars(instead of being white) they are orange. They were orange before I restored my phone also. Please help someone. Thank you.
EDIT: I CAN SIGN INTO MY ACCOUNT ON MY COMPUTER AND ACCESS ALL OF THE GOOGLE SERVICES THERE.
You'll probably have to get a hold of Google. They probably locked you out of your account for cheating the game

Alright but what explains why I cannot sign into any of my other gmail accounts?
They would know which phone was used to cheat.
If Google locked you out, you'll need a better excuse than "my cousin did it."
Flash Google stock images. Don't flash anything else. No Gapps either. See if it still happens

yes i am installing the eclipse adt bundle right now. The only problem is that the file name is : freedom-1.0.6 (3).apk but when i hover over the file or when i click properties and look at the type of file it says that it is a "Wandoujia2.file (.apk). So when i go to install it through adb do i need to take any extra precautions.
You don't need eclipse or SDK.
Just install adb using 15 second installer (click my signature then find my adb and fastboot thread)
You can name the apk file name anything you want.
adb install whatever.apk

So I managed to install freedom again and stop it from running. I than uninstalled it and restarted my phone. I could sign in with my gmail account finally. I signed in with my gmail account and my gmail synced and so did my calendar but I cannot access hangouts or the play store. Hangouts says: "Couldn't sign in because we couldn't reach Google. Try again."
When i tap on the Play Store icon, the play store opens but it just says "No connections" and than it has a button below it saying "retry". I have tapped that button several times but nothing has advanced. It comes back to the same screen.
So than i went online and did a little research. Many people had the same problem as me and said that deleting the hosts file works. I deleted the hosts file and than restarted but nothing happened. so than i saw in another place where thye say to put a "#" in front of the ip address on the hosts file. I did that and i restarted and I was able to sign into my gmail account. But i cannot access the play store or hangouts. Please help. I need my phone fixed as soon as possible. Thank you.

Google verification issues

Hi all, I'm having an issue with setup wizard specifically the Google verification. It's telling me I need to sign in with an account previously used on the device (it's brand new) due to an apparent improper factory restore. I'm able to open apps using nova launcher but when I go to select default launcher it says setup wizard and I can't change it. I'm also unable to add a Google account. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Doesn't sound new. Wipe it:
Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset
Box was sealed and everything, I tried restoring from settings but same thing. Also only the back button works home and menu don't, is there a root bypass or ROM in the works?
Did you ever login with another google account?
Try:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot erase config

I assume I'd need to enable USB Debugging to use those, which I'm unable to. Would a stock rom flash or root fix my issues once either are released?

Google play store error 505 after nougat update

I use Facebook for work as we have fan pages. I use Facebook pages manager to manage them. I never had Facebook downloaded on the z5(work phone). I received a notice in play store that pages manager had an Update available. That's when I started receiving the 505 error code when trying to update the pages manager. Then I uninstalled the pages manager and tried to reinstall and now it won't install at all keeps giving me the 505 code. I read online where they say to remove the Google account and then add the Google account back, clear cache and data etc.... and if that doesn't work of course reset your phone. I'm not going to reset my phone because I will lose too many important chats with in different applications on the phone.
Is anybody else seeing this issue?
Update: the only apps that won't update are Facebook,f.b.pages manager, and now f.b.messenger....I'm not a Facebook fan,but need them for work.
This is an unlocked phone bought from Sony in Thailand. Model E6653, build# 32.3.A.0.376

if you are rooted and have sony ric disabled then install playstore again using lucky patched, but first go to settings apps find google play store and wipe everything from that app.
EDIT : Best thing is to use titanium backup(you have to be rooted) and backup every app that you have important chats on, and then do full wipe(excluding /system).
Full stock z5

Only Facebook apps are effected.

Ignore it, i use apkmirror for years and never had any problems with any apk.
It downloaded, but I can't locate it. It's not in my app drawer or on any home screen.....
I went to my down load section, and tried to click it,but it says can not because it conflicts with existing package. So I know it's in the phone, but how do I access it...?.....
File Commander or any other file manager and locate Downloads folder and there it is.

Well this is a bug. I experienced this problem after upgrading to Nougat from Marshmallow using flashtool. Sideloading (apk) won't work. Do a factory reset, that's the only fix.
It's just too much trouble factory resetting. I'll just have to use my other device.
Thanks guys.
you have to do a clean install not update..
