[Q] Possibility to search Custom ROM with hardware infos of tablet - General Topics

Hi,
I'm asking if it is possible to search for a custom rom based on some hardware information of the tablet like chipset, baseband, kernel or something else? I have a tablet (KynectTab 32013G) and don't find custom roms for it, so my question is if there exists another rom I could use and how to find out!
greets,

[Q] [Help] [New Device] I need help creating a ROM for my new phone

Hello everyone! I am a little new to this, so please take it easy on me. I have actually never created my own Android ROM via the AOSP, but I have opened up Zip files for ROMs other developers have created and have been able to do basics.
I recently bought this device: MPie G7 (gearbest . com/cell-phones/pp_76182.html)
As you can all tell, it is not exactly a very popular phone. So, finding source code for this phone's ROM is basically, impossible. I have also been unable to find the manufactures website address either (anyone have any ideas?).
Anyway, here are my very noob questions. I am obviously planning on hitting base with the AOSP code, but with Lollipop. This poses a new problem to me, because I cannot find the source code, how am I supposed ot create a kernel specific ROM? This thing runs on a MTK, most precisely: MTK6582. It came with Android 4.4.2 (KitKat).
I am also worried about one small other thing, which is the gestures. If my phone is on standby, screen is off, I can do gestures on the off screen to do certain things. Similar to the OnePlus One. But, I am worried I will not be able to do that if I build my own ROM from source.
Anyone have suggestions? Or can possibly help? Thank you very much. All your help is appreciated!

Why don't you list down some of the specifications of your phone and compare them with other mediatek devices!!!
That way if u have the stock ROM of the phone then u can port ROMs from another mediatek device like xolo q700i which has a dedicated thread!!! xolo q700i has many different number of ROMs !!! That way by zip based theming and porting you might be successful in at least creating a ROM for yourself which u can use as a base for different roms!!!
The way I see it if you don't have source or downloadable ROM from your OEM, you have two options:
- like @thecoolster said you could try flashing ROMs from similar devices, and hope you don't end up stuck with a soft brick.
- or, likely your device can be easily rooted (in the settings perhaps?) if it isn't already. Then you can make nandroid to give yourself a stock ROM to cook.
Actually porting your ROM from a developer device tree and AOSP or CM is hard if you are only a hobbyist cook.
Even with a cooked ROM, you'd need a recovery that lets you flash it or you'd have to use SP flashtool and make your own config files for the flash.

[Q] verykool Spark II s5015 ROM Question

Hello,
With the recent Android M coming out soon, I wanted to try to find a custom ROM to flash onto my Android Phone. It's the VeryKool Sparks II s5015. However, being as it's not very much supported, I'm having issues finding ROM's etc for Lollipop custom builds. Does anyone have any idea's where I could get one? Or what? CM 12 doesn't appear to be compatible.
hey bro, your phone it's compatible but there are no developers working on your specific device, thats the reason for that you can't find a ROM... Whatever your phone have MTK Chipset, install cpu-z app from playstore and see what model is. example mine device is mt6572. when you sure know your device chipset can download custom rom from here: http://_www.mtkroms.com_/ and here: http://_www.mtkcrom.blogspot.com_/ (delete the "_" on URL) obviously you have to ported first for your device, but don't worry, there are tutorials on the pages.
finally sorry for my bad english and... do all things at your own risk, if i helped you click the "thanks" button

Root and custom roms for Alcatel PopStar (5022D) ?

Hello everyone.
I am not satisfied with the stock 5.1 rom of my alcatel popstar, so i would like to ask you a question.
Is there any possibility for rooting and flashing firmware to this smartphone?
Thanks in advance.
+1
that's true
i agree
Hi, I have a model 5022E, I ported some roms for this device (CM12, ZenfoneGo; Bluboo Xfire2, Samsung Clone, etc) all firmwares are lollipop, I don´t upgrade to MM cause there´s no sources about kernel for this device in the web but anyway there are better that stock ugly experience, if someone is interested I need to someone tell me what´s difference between both models, I think that they aren´t so much differents, I´ll download rom stock from here https://www.needrom.com/download/alcatel-ot-5022d-pop-star-2/# if someone confirm it´s correct rom, version AE

What to do? Preparation before creating new ROM for Zopo ZP990+ (MT6592)

So basically i got a little bit tired of being stuck with my good old Zopo ZP990+ and it's stock Android 4.2.2 and want to do something about it.
I dug a little bit through xda and other sites and found out that there are lots of official KitKat ROMs and custom Lollipops (Marshmallow even) for devices with the same processor (MT6592).
Some info about my model:
Zopo ZP990+ running slightly customed Android 4.2.2 with kernel 3.4.39. Got myself a TWRP so no problem with custom Recovery.
Wherever i go i see that in order to port ROMs i need to upgrade my kernel to 3.4.67 (or smth like that) so:
1. Do i really have to update kernel in order to flash custom 4.4.4 or higher? (Might be stupid question for some of you, but i just can't let go of hoping that it might run with 3.4.39 as well)
2. If i do have to then is there any way to know HOW can i update it? (Or mod it, whatever is fine with me as long as i will know how to do it or where to find info about it)
3. I also found a guide which shows how to create completely new CyanogenMod, so i was wandering whether i should go in that direction and then maybe just update that?
It seems like there is no official release of kernel source code (found something on github, but it's not official and i think it's for ZP990 not ZP990+).
Simply put i just want to ask about modding kernel, how to and what to do with it in order to get it working with better firmwares.
Thank You all for any kind of support given. If nothing is possible, then don't worry. I'll somehow deal with this harsh truth.
