android.permission.access_superuser not declared in manifest - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I cannot grant apps root permission. The screen comes up, it does its normal countdown from 3 and then makes the allow button's text white. At this point, clicking it does nothing. It does not acknowledge a click there. If I press and hold my finger on allow, and slide it to deny, deny gets highlighted like I'm about to click it.
Any thoughts?

yea, flash the latest supersu via recovery http://download.chainfire.eu/452/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip

It's probably because you're using Lux or something that uses an overlay.

I installed supersu from the app store and was able to grant it root access after immediately rebooting. I tried this afterwords and get a flashing error.

SuperSU - Grant Root Permissions

Just received my OPO and unlocked, flashed recovery, and rooted it using the lastest SuperSU via TWRP. I noticed that upon launching an app that requires root access, I am prompted to grant root permissions, however, I am unable to click "grant" or even "deny". I simply have to let the window timeout and fail to give root permissions. I don't believe it's a screen sensitivity issue as I am able to click that area when the prompt is not there.
Any ideas as how to resolve this issue?
Thanks!
Resolved - for whatever reason, Tapjacking protection needs to be unchecked in order to interact with the prompt.

Cannot grant applications Superuser access

I'm using the SuperSU app on my S3 running KitKat (slimkat 7). I have recently been unable to grant any new apps superuser access. The dialog appears on my screen that "Application X is requesting superuser access" and it has the usual two buttons "Grant" and "Deny" but I cannot press anything. The screen is just unresponsive. So every time I end up having to wait for the timer to count down to 0 and it will automatically deny the request.
Any ideas? Is there a better SuperUser app to be using? I was always under the impression that SuperSU was the definitive app. I remember in the past I had been using another SU app and I had to switch over to SuperSU in order for something to work correctly.
Any help is appreciated!!

I've found with some versions of Kitkat you have to flash the zip file for supersu in recovery to get it working. Personally I use supersu and haven't run into many problems at all

You shouldn't flash it, cm has it already.

For some apps (e.g. leandroid, wakelock detector) it's not enough. So which version is the proper one?

You probably have no idea how to properly set SU. It is already included in proper way and you should not flash any other version over it because it will cause bootloops.

What I meant is you should not flash anything because you already have included a great working SU into this rom. All you need to do is just set proper privileges in settings (Marshmallow thingy) and voila. If you can't do certain things or allow certain actions you have 99% chance that's sth with permissions in app or SU settings.

I know that I've SU. What I'm saying is that with some apps it works just fine (adaway) and with others it doesn't (wakelock detector with since unplugged option enabled, leandroid doesn't work at all).
what can i do
i have flash super su 2.46 and know my moto g is on bootloop. I enter into fastboot mode, select recovery byt it doesnt works. What can i do?

[Guide] Magisk Modules Disabler for booting into Magisk core-only Mode

Tools needed: boot.img extractor. I recommend the one created by osm0sis from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073775
The first method was developed by osm0sis and removes magisk and all modules.
1. Unpack magisk_patched.img
2. Unzip overlay.dremove1.zip and place overlay.d folder in ramdisk folder.
3. Repack IMG
4. fastboot boot image-new.img created by repacking img
This method is an offshoot of osm0sis version but boots core-only mode. Afterwards, remove the .disable-magisk file from the /cache folder for modules to work. Dot files are hidden files so if your root explorer can't see hidden files, run the "Remove disable_magisk" bat file in ADB.
1. Same as above but use the overlay.dcoreonly1.zip
For both methods you must be rooted for it to work. These are not cure all's for all bootloops.
Remove .disable_magisk bat file
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261684994
Here is a fastboot bootable image to boot you into Magisk core-only mode, in case you bootloop due to flashing a bad module, in fastboot:
fastboot boot image-newpixel4xl.img
You will boot with root but modules disabled. After you remove the offending module you will need to go to /cache folder and delete the .disable_magisk file before your modules will work.
fastboot boot image-newpixel4xlRemove.img
This one should remove magisk and all modules, then reboot and magisk should reinstall itself (ask to install necessary binaries). This is what osm0sis uses to recover from failed flashes. See this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pi...odules-disabler-booting-magisk-t3976625/page2
Images are in this common folder. Pick the appropriate image for your phone.

Awesome, since we may not have TWRP this is extremely valuable.
Thanks for this, I was able to boot back into the OS. However, I had to do a complete uninstall of magisk to get rid of the bootloop.
Thanks again, saved me a wipe

Mine have to do with my mods when I try new things, so usually SystemUIGoogle.apk. I've found that just deleting the apk itself from the modules and leaving the folders in place works best.

I am very grateful that you put this together because I tried xposed and it didn't work and I was in an endless boot and I was able to grab this image and I came up right away. I don't know whether I'll try doing it again or not. I sure would like gravity box on the 4XL.

I would like to be able to modify the quick settings to take away the text and allow the number of columns and rows to be set.
I'd like long press on volume to switch tracks.
I'd like to relocate my clock to center.
Have it say <smallcaps>Fri Oct 25</smallcaps> 4:35 <smallcaps>pm</smallcaps>
Control brightness with the status bar
Add more items to the power off menu (bootloader)
Expandable volume menu.
Has anyone been successful with exposed yet?

I would like that very much. I'd much rather not use xposed. Every time I have it has been a little flaky. Do know though that I tried the center clock mod you already made and it wasn't working for me.
Perhaps because I'm on the .C4 release or because I'm using Nova?

I did some more troubleshooting and the clock mod does work now. But only sort of. It doesn't work with Nova set as the default launcher and gesture navigation. It disabled the home action as far as I can tell.

okay I think I figured it out. It had to do with the navigation gestures hiding the nav bars. Unless it's set to full Iimmersive mode then it somehow conflicts with the gestures and the launcher. Oddly this only happens with the clock mode enabled and not when it's not.

okay. I just changed the navigation bar to be visible since it's so unobtrusive in the gesture nav.
I also set up per app immersive, which more than makes up for the lost real estate.
Thanks for helping me sort it out,and even more so for the work you do on the mods. I've had a pixel since they came out, and I really like the stuff you did for my 2 xl and 3 xl.
Look forward to 2hat you do for the 4 xl ?.

Also single app immersive makes it so the nav bar doesn't show in an immerse app anyway.

Popup "your device will shut down in 1min"

Anyone else getting a popup telling you your device will shut down in 1 minute (countdown)
This has recently started to happen and I'm confused if it's the phone or a malicious app doing something.
Any info on this?

I have no clue on what system/app is asking me to do this.
I know my battery hit 15%
Battery saver turned on
Then this popup ask me to shut my device off.
If I don't select a option it will turn off on its own.
Options = cancel or turn off
If it happens again I will screenshot it.

A mod can close this thread. Thanks.
I had this once. Are u using magisk and did a dirty os upgrade?
If than go to twrp and delete all modules from magisk. In the twrp file manager.
Just delete everything in \DATA\ADB\MODULES.

I had this after the first boot with an dirty upgrade where I didn't disable magisk modules before upgrading
