i have tried every different version of this and it does nothing but brick my phone. it says its availble for HTC ONE SV and i started from ground zero with the installs and they all brick the phone. Has anyone else tried this mod and been successful?
I would not release a rom that doesn't boot..., which variant do you have, more info?

i started at :Full ROM: ViperSV 1.0.0
MD5: 3ee12da08e5a85758ddf05df1f650a86
and each version from 1.0.0 to 1.5 trying each version. Each version gets to 83% install and it quits working. ive waited for up to 30 mins waiting for it to get past this 83% mark. im not saying its faulty, but something definatley isn't working on my device when it installs. if i could put a picture up i would, but im not high enough of a member to place a picture.

If you would read the OP of the rom's thread, you would see that the Rom isn't compatible with Cricket and Boost variants. Reflash your stock rom.

I'm wondering what kernels everyone is using that are stable?
Now that Undead is out of the biz, I'm wondering what kernels people recommend to replace the stock kernel for stable usage. I don't need overclocking, what I want is bone stable and return to the Google-stock contact manager. (Sense can't find business contacts, doesn't have favorites, etc)
I see this one:
BulletProof http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360746
Is there anything else anyone recommends for stable use? I'm really hoping to only have to do this change once, and then stay on the new kernel until I replace the phone.
Bulletproof is using a stock gingerbread kernel at the moment.
The reason for this is that ROM was/is being developed for testing overclock limits with kernel edits, but to get a solid baseline it's a stock kernel at the moment.
Due to work constraints and now devoting a majority of my time to the S-OFF issue , I hadn't had time to circle back to pushing modified kernels.
In unraveling the S-OFF issue where we are down to now is having to modify the kernel to continue, so i've been working on kernels again recently. That's actually where my dev time is being spent now, so i'll probably post some over the next few weeks.
AgentCherryCola actually started putting together a list of kernels we have available a little bit ago, which you can find here:
HTC Doubleshot Kernels. February 21, 2012.
Might want to check it out. It does include the stock kernel UndeadK9 compiled from straight HTC kernel source with no modifications.
You can also get that kernel with an HTC signature from flashing the boot.img available in the stock PG59IMG.zip found here:
Doubleshot_TMOUS_1.28.531.9_Radio_10.48.9007.00U_1 0.12.9007.07_M2_release Thanks to football for posting it for us. This is the 2.6.35.10 kernel and is the same one you would compile if you downloaded the HTC source from the HTCDev website.
You can get the updated HTC kernel (version 2.6.35.13) from the leaked HTC OTA 1.55.531.3 software update I found recently, also uploaded by football found here:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0f....00_11.16.3504.20_2_release_227956_signed.zip
But it's actually a kernel.img file within the OTA PG59IMG.zip package, and won't flash right or work correctly unless you update the whole phone to this package.
NOTE: If you are S-ON when you update, you will not be able to get S-OFF at this time.
You can also obtain the 2.6.35.10 version of the kernel through any of the boot.img files found in my dev reference, here is the posting:
boot, hboot
----
That should give you a good start in finding what you are looking for, any questions just ask!

1. It didn't list any other Undead or Bulletproof kernel
2. The only link to a sense-less kernel that was stable was for the Unity kernel, but there's no mention of the 4G Slide in the Unity downloads area.

I keep seeing comments about this. Is there a link with the whole story? I'm on bone-stock HTC with kernel version 2.6.35.10-g6dea02d from Jun 27, 2011. Does this mean that S-OFF isn't currently possible?
Thanks for your help.

Stock HTC gingerbread kernel. You can't run the device without an HTC kernel or one built from HTC source, plain and simple.
The kernel is what contains all of the device-specific information on how the software can use the hardware present.
If you flashed a kernel from another device, the absolute best case scenario is nothing will work.

Like much of XDA, it's a works in progress. I am sure Agent will update as time allows and options are available, but we're all volunteer in our spare time here so think of his thread as the foundation of our guide to available kernels. It's a good start.
I doubt very highly that any of Undead's other kernels would be present in a thread on XDA since he has been banned, so the only one acceptable to post here would be the stock one he compiled before that happened. Anything more would get the thread locked.
(let's not derail this thread on that subject, this thread can help people in the future if we don't get it locked over that.)
Bulletproof only has one kernel at this point that is publicly available.

The kernel itself really has nothing to do with S-ON or OFF.
The limiting factor here would be if you were on hboot 1.45.0013 and S-ON.
If that were the case there is currently no method to obtain S-OFF for the device (working on it). We do now have a fixed version to the software that should be on the device and if you flash that then you can unlock the hboot and do some things. See this thread if you need to unlock:
Root the latest OTA when the HTC Unlocker tool doesn't work
If you are S-ON and NOT on the 1.45.0013 hboot, you should obtain S-OFF before updating to the most recent OTA or you will not be able to S-OFF the device at this time.
Oke
I'm using mod CM10 4..1.1 NK111 version 0810 kernel 2.6.35.14 without any problem for daily use, even 5MP photo's no problem.
But I'm trying to get a working CM10 4.1.2. with a kernel 3 on my DS
I've installed several ROMS from NK111, Flinny, BlindDump al with the same problem no sound during out going or in coming calls
I've flashed several hboots 0.98 eng, 2.00 eng, 7.00 no result. I've flashed several radio's 20.4801.30.0622U_3622.10.08.04,
20.71.30.0833U_38.31.17.00.16_M, 20.76.30.0835U_38.31.19.00.110 no result. All with and without the sound fix from BlindDump and
other solutions from members with the same problem, like the one to plug in en plug out the headphone and several reboots nothing works.
For testing the ROMS I do a clean install. I folow the treats on de development deparment about the problems from CM10 4.1.2 kernel 3,
I'm aware of the problems but my quention is: have I missed somthing to get the call sound working?

Tried the sound test solution in de kernel form Flinny with the flinny 119 and NK111 1018 ROMS no result!!
I too am having sound issues with these ROMs- as you would have noticed reading those threads.
Sent from my Nexus 7
I read that you have the same problem with the latest ROM versions.
I think that it is a small problem but we don't see the solution yet.
The use of different manufacturers for the production of the DS is an extra stubble
to make a universal ROM.
One of the thinks i will try is to change the recovery from TWRP to CMW to see if there
is an installation fold from the ROMS.
I have changed my radio: no effect
I have changed recovery from cwm to 4ext: no effect.
I have changed my rom from jb to sense4 (fallout): this was the last thing for a daily use phone at the moment........
if the small bugs are ready fixed then i go back to jb......
Oke I've changed my recovery from TWRP to CWM installed some ROMS indeed no result
I also tried the MigSaga-v0.1-BLINDNDUMB kernel with a even worse result. No sound at all,
but we're keep on testing. I'm certainly not going to stock!
The problem for now is solved see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33390321&postcount=2138

This is a stock ROM but because it's not running on the firmware update that it came bundled with in the OTA update there's some kind of mismatch happening, thus causing these signal drops and random reboots. If you plan on trying the latest Telstra radio I'd suggest taking the firmware update route, I flashed the radio while still on the 2.14 hboot and it performed terribly. I think it works like this:
If you're on hboot 2.15, previous radios work terribly but latest works well.
If you're on <2.15 previous radios work well but latest radio works terribly.
I've only tested while on the lower hboot (<2.15) so far though.

Things that work with this ROM
- Beastmode Reloaded 3.5 kernel
Things that DON'T work with this ROM
- You tell me
-I don't know if zoe mod works with this(it should) as I don't care for this mod
I have installed Xposed framework and now have APM, themed icons, modified notification bar.
Running Beastmode kernel.
So far running a lot smoother than any other rom I've used before.
What's the difference between this and the tmobil port?

T-Mobile 5.08 isn't a port and neither is this Telstra ROM.
Both are stock ROMs.
Differences will be carrier apps, carrier settings like APN, default qwerty keyboard, language, build.prop settings like fingerprint and such.

Both Telstra 5.06 and T-Mobile 5.08 are using the same radio. I believe both are using 1.31a.32.45.16_2_10.141.32.34a

It also seems faster than the other base. with less glitches.
It rebooted once but since I installed beast mode problem free.

I am also getting calls dropping out. This came from a clean flash. Is anyone else having similar issues? Is there some edits that need to be made to build.prop for Optus?

I'm asking because I believe something goes wrong with latest build.
my android.phone app keeps crashing all the time even after I reinstall M11 from scratch.
and maybe it's only a side effects of my todays experiments, but after fastboot flash boot boot.img I see that HBOOT still stays with version 2.15, instead of expected 2.16.
is it normal? or is it my own fault?

The ROM in this thread is made for HBOOT 2.16 users, if you have HBOOT 2.15, this ROM isn't compatible with your firmware. There's official CM11 thread for HBOOT 2.15
Basically if you're on HBOOT 2.15 you use OFFICIAL builds, if you're on HBOOT 2.16 you use UNOFFICIAL BUILDS.

From what I understand you are referring to CMXLOG, if you have HBOOT 2.16, this is only to show what changes have been made to the ROM as they are identical to what is included in the OFFICIAL CM11 ville builds but you can't download and flash it on HBOOT 2.16. Again it's just to check what has been added to the build.
So because my builds are UNOFFICIAL, I build when I can. For example if the OFFICIAL NIGHTLY was released on 17/10 but the latest commit of that NIGHTLY was merged on 16/10 and straight away I built that, that's why the date differs.

thank you for such detailed answer. indeed I felt into huge hole full of interconnected misunderstandings. for some reason I decided that official only supports 2.16 and also makes lot of such wrong assumptions.
I don't know that happens with my official CM11, but really android.phone app on it started to crash again and again after some update. nothing helps.
hopefully my journey finished successfully. I'm now S-OFF, rooted, superCIDed and on HBOOT 2.16 with almost latest nightly _unofficial_ CM11 build. two days lost on that way.
sorry if my post makes any confusion and thank you for your patience and every day job on handling this builds.

got it, thanks. I was mistakenly thinking that you talk about market apps updates and I was trying to escape them.
Wow, having FM supported sound very promising.
Is it my only experience of sound during the call is really low?
Both loud speaker and phone are difficult to listen during the call.
But navigator application which I use, speaks very loud, just as it did on stock FW.
is a problem with application? How can I tune it to work better?
the FM app you mentioned works fine with 16-10-2014 nighty build
thanks for pointing out. I only doubt why it request so lot of capabilities, like root (?), blue tooth, calls and so on

You can "repair" stucked phone next time with original file from ROM image.

please have a look at next nighty, seems like this bug-fix http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/76150/ could make voice during the call sounds better, isn't it?

I couldn't comment on main thread. Just wanna say I flash this ROM and this time sound is much louder, it is such good as it should be.
so if you or someone else have same problem with volume as I did, try this ROM, hopefully it is better.
I've not tried anything else so far, at least it started and could answer and make a call
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][4.4.4][OCT-16] CyanogenMod 11 HTC One S [hboot 2.16]
Hi,
I installed CM11 a week ago and I noticed that the phone does not vibrate! Today I did the update to the latest version and still doesn't work .. I have searched on the internet but cant find a solution.
Any tips?
Thanks
Right now I am running Cyanogenmod 12 on my HTC One S.
In terms of getting hboot 2.16 (to get more app storage) I need my phone to be S-OFF.
So now I am trying to get S-OFF using SunShine.
The problem: «SunShine encountered problems with your rom. Please flash a stock, or more near stock rom and try again.»
So where to find a nearstock rom? Is it the right approach to just try some random rom with sense in its name?
Thanks for any help!
The "random rom with sense in its name" you've linked is a Sense-based ROM. Its safe to use.

I have tried to go with that one. Unfortunately it seems to only work with Hboot 2.16. I do only have Hboot 2.15 ... Any other ideas which rom is stock rom enough?

There is a thread fixed somewhere with stock RUUs to download. Use them to return your phone to stock.

I feel like I have tried every rom with sense in its title. Either I suck at finding this thread you are talking about or it does not exist or it does not work? :/ thanks for your help anyway
