[Q] Why can't my laptop detect my phone? - General Questions and Answers

I want to upload pictures from my S3 to laptop.
There is no problem with my cable and laptop because my phone was able to charge when I connect my phone with the laptop. However, my laptop didn't detect any device when I connect my phone in with the cable. Hence, I am unable to upload images / add songs to my Samsung Galaxy S3.

nexus s w/ win7 device not recognized.....

hey guys,
I'm having problems with my nexus s not being recognized by my laptop when connecting via USB. I even tried using the samsung cable from my wife's vibrant and nothing. Her phone seems to work with both her cord and mines. Also, when I plug in my phone to my xbox 360 USB port, I'm able to mount it there. Only when I connect the phone to my windows 7 laptop, the little android guy pops up in the notification bar for a split second then it disappears. Then the laptop gets a popup saying USB device not recognized. is it a phone problem or a laptop problem? I keep having to load files onto dropbox on my laptop and pull it from there on my phone.
Do you have USB debugging selected? Did you download the drivers for you device to your laptop?

[Q] Connecting samsung tab 10.1 to PC

HI
I know there must be a lot of this around, but I was unable to find it. So here is my question:
Is it possible to persuade my galaxy tab 10.1 to work like a lot of smartphones when it comes to USB connectivity. With that I mean that when I plug my htc into the computer I get a question how do I want to connect to the PC:
-disc drive
-htc sync
-charge only
-etc.
Because when I plug my Tab into a PC it starts to connect but then fails i.e. it only says it is MTP connected, but the PC does not recognize it. I am not talking about my computer at home, but about a random computer that does not have al the kies and other software installed on (like computer at my work).
I am sorry if this is already explained but i am a really bad newby in all this android stuff.

[Q] Nexus S not detected by Computer

Just updated my phone (Nexus S) to cm-10.1-20121223-NIGHTLY-crespo. While it works fine as of now, one problem I am facing is when I connect it to the PC with the cable, though it goes into storage mode on the screen, however it does not show up in the PC. This prevents me from copying files from my computer to my phone.
It shows up in the device manager as a recognized Samsung device, but does not show in My Computer.......Any idea why this could be happenning ?
Thanks
I hope you have installed drivers and phone by USB direct to pc port not thru USB hub.
Happened to me once using USB hub cannot transfer files, so I connect direct and it works.

[Q] Connecting Phone to Tablet via USB

Is there a way to connect my Cell Phone to my Tablet via USB so that I can access the data on the phone through the tablet (ie photos, music, videos)? Also is there a way to also charge the phone via the USB while its connected to the tablet (while the tablet is charging)?
No to your usb questions what you can do though is get softwaredata cable and use it to create "virtual cable"/connection between the devices

[SEEKING HELP]

Hi everyone, my phone OPPO Find X screen totally gone. I want to transfer my data/files/pictures/videos to my laptop or another cell phone. How do I recover these files? How do I transfer to another device or laptop? Please give me suggestions. I am feeling bad.
If phone is OTG ready, and if on phone USB-mode MTP was enabled, then connect computer via OTG-cable with your powered-on phone and transfer the data of interest to computer.
