This is for that people that needs to force the cellphone to preferred network type.
1- Needs to be root. I uses this: http://www.ninjaromeo.com/root-lg-optimus-g3/ but I think this works too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2776198
2- After you have your cellphone rooted install the intelli3G app from PlayStore.
3- Install intelli3G app but not open yet, Install the xposed installer: http://dl-count.xposed.info/modules/de.robv.android.xposed.installer_v33_36570c.apk
4- after install xposed open it and update the framework,
5- reboot the phone
6- after reboot open intelli3g app but inmediately exit and open the xposed and in the modules check the intelli3g app to get the permissions.
7- Now open the intelli3g app and select the band you want.
just say thanks if this was useful to you.
So this is an exposed module, not a stand alone app?
Appear to be an app but needs xposed to works.
Hmm.. Excuse my ignorance but will doing this allow my phone to connect to networks that run on bands that the D850 doesn't support?
I was in England recently and after unlocking my phone, I stuck a T-Mobile SIM card in and was getting calls and texts but could not get internet despite paying for it and all. Would installing this module allow me to get 3G services from any network etc.?
Any information would be lovely, thank you.

not only does this work, which is awesome, but it has a dual mode with a toggle, which is REALLY nice, and the hotspot still works even when you switch bands unlike the build.prop edit that does the same thing
Thank you very much for this
Too many steps which aren't needed.

NO IT WON'T

If you're using T-Mobile SIM, then you'll need to input the correct APN settings for T-Mobile.
Any information would be lovely, thank you.

The D850 has support for WCDMA 2100MHz so you're good to go for all 3G networks in the UK, but for LTE, stick with EE (1800/2600) or 3 (800/1800). D850 does NOT have LTE 800 which O2 and Vodafone uses.

You likely needed to change your APN settings.

By APN settings I assume you mean choosing between the services that my phone could find? For instance, my phone was finding o2 3g, o2 2g, ee 3g, Vodafone 3g, etc. If so, I tried connecting to each and every single one to no avail. I was considering getting an o2 pay as you go Sim or a Vodafone since according to various sources the D850 supports the bands that those services require, at least for 3g. I don't exactly need LTE but I do want some sort of internet service.

So what would I need this for? Will this help me with issues I am having staying connected to LTE?

Hello, I think my phone is simlocked. I bought my nexus s from carphonewarhouse here in the UK on vodafone contract.
My vodafone simcard works fine but if I put another carrier simcard in, it says no service but I have full/good reception. Also it does not ask for a simlock unlock code!
WHen I manually choose the network it says, unable to connect to the network.
I have changed roms etc.. to stock and even tried 2.3.2 radio and the 2 new 2.3.3 radios!
Please help? I thought all nexus s works with any network?
all Nexus comes sim unlocked
if you try another network, make sure it has the correct frequencies supported
Did you try radios meant for the other carrier's network?

I couldn't find them, do u know where I can get it from? I tried all network Sims in the UK, none work except vodafone.
You probably have manually selected Vodafone in the past and the phone tries to connect to Vodafone. You have to go into settings and select 'automatic network selection' or manually select another network.

I've tried that, it says "cannot connect to the network"
Check your APN settings (Settings, Wirelss & network, mobile networks, APN).
You might have success by manually adding the correct ones for the network you're attempting to connect to.
Are you inserting ACTIVATED SIM cards? Also does making voice calls work on it? If voice works and data doesn't, it's your APN settings that need adjustments.

I just got the core. I added the correct APN settings, but for some reason this phone only connects to edge. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere?
I am on straight talk, AT&T compatible sim card.
Phone is unlocked.
Any help is appreciated.
You possible don't have 3G selected to use for the simcard you can only use 3G on one simcard at the time in sim settings you can choose which one you want to use

So this is likely a settings problem rather than a hardware incompatibility?
Can this phone connect to the AT&T HSPA 850/1900mhz band? or do I need a sim card compatible with the 900/2100mhz band to get HSPA connection?
I looked in the sim card manager but I don't see a setting to enable 3g, only to select which sim's data connection to use. I currently only have one sim in the phone. I may get a 900/2100mhz compatible sim and see if that works.
in a related note, how to I bring up the debug/settings menu from the dialer? its usually *#7268#* or something along those lines but I can't find the specific code for this phone. I have a feeling changing some of those settings may help.
Go to settings/wireless & networks/more settings/mobile networks/(Then depending on the sim you use for data)Network mode/WCDMA only and you are done.
If this helps, please hit Thanks button.

It won't let me select WCDMA only. When I do it goes back to the previous choice automatically.
I bought an Unlocked Canadian S6 recently, and it just won't let me connect to the LTE network.
Model Numer : SM-G920W8
Android Version : 5.0.2
Baseband : G920W8VLU1AOCG
Connecting to the LTE is not even an option. When I go in the Network Options, I get the choice between :
-WDCMA/GSM (auto connect)
- WDCMA only
- GSM only
I know for a fact that I am in the coverage zone, so no need to ask that silly question
I've tried different SIM cards, played in the options a bit, and factory reset the phone about 5 times now, yet nothing seems to work.
Also, when I try to do the update, it just reboots and gives me an Android logo and a failed Icon
I've only seen one other post like this from a carrier's support website, but no solutions were found.
**Update : For a reason, after a recovery, it will connect to the LTE for a bit or until next boot, then go back to what it is now.
First question, who did you buy the phone from? Second, Is it second hand? By default, Wind mobile does not allow the LTE option to be displayed in system settings as they as a carrier don't have LTE. It is blocked by the CSC setting for the carrier. As for other carriers It should leave you the option to connect in settings where you say it is not. If it is a Wind phone, You would need to change the CSC to enable the LTE selection. There is a method to force LTE even without option in settings, but I think it is removed in the latest firmware. Try dialing *#2263# in the dialer. It may bring you to menu that will allow you to select LTE. This is not a permanent method though as it will need to be done every boot. The other way, (If you are in fact a Wind/Mobilicity phone) is to enter dialer and enter *#272*IMEI# with IMEI being your devices unique code. If at all possible, take a full nand and Titanium Backup before doing this and be sure to transfer everything off the phone to a PC. This method wipes everything and I mean everything off the phone buy is a surefire way to enable LTE.
Yes, it was second hand. I didn't ask who was his carrier simply because it was unlocked.
I'll try it tomorrow, thanks for the information
Here is the menu you will see when you type the *#272*imei# code into your dialer. The codes are the carrier names. Mine which is GLW is Wind, BMC is Bell, RWC is Rogers, etc.
Maybe there is no LTE in your area...

It would still be visible in the Settings/Mobile Networks/Network Mode menu which it is not. His problem is more than that.

Sweet! It works :good: Thanks man
Now, would you have any ideas on why the update won't work? I didn't get much into it yet, but I will soon.
I'm not sure why it wouldn't update, but now that you have changed the CSC you can download the update and flash with Odin. Pick your carrier and go to town. The guy running the following thread runs his own firmware host. He's got amazing DL speeds. Usually takes me 6 or so minutes to do the 1.6gb file. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3086387
I'm having the same issue.

Connected with someone selling a G920W8 version. LTE is disabled and the codes aren't working. Can you reaffirm which unlock code worked for you? I'm on Fido, what LTE network are you using?
hi BCSC
Thanks for the details. I searched complete net and read all articles but nothing set me up with the proper thing. i read your solution i dialled *#2263# and all i got is service mode and in that i went to band selection , LTE and the all ....... Yes and its showing LTE in mobile data. THanks so much.
But now another issue, network is showing perfect but no outgoing and incoming calls.
in incoming its showing busy and on outgoing its not connecting to another phone.
And, Lte is not showing in mobile networks, There only 3 options still are showing.
Mine is same Wind S6 but i had to use in India.
Let Me know
Thanks once again

Picking LTE from the service mode will note make it visible from the settings menu. Its more of a workarpund instead of a way of permanently enabling it. As for the issue of no out/in calls, my best guess is that it could be due to which LTE bands are being used or are available in India. Unfortunatly I have no way to test that option. I only was successful in getting the Wind LTE option on Canadian carriers.

Hi, I recently bought a LG g3 smarthphone and I found out that it's an AT&T version phone, but thankfully it's unlocked. My problem is, that it doesn't get any mobile network. In the setting it says that the Mobile network type this device can use is HSPA, my local carriers can only provide LTE, GSM and WCDMA rat types, I don't know if it's the case. I've tried to solve this on my own, but without luck. The solutions with 3845#*850# or similar codes just woun't work, when I choose any RAT it says: "succsess", but it doesn't change a thing and when I choose "LTE only mode", the phone blocks my mobile connection and says: "Restricted access changed: Data service is blocked" .
I really need any help, because I cannot see myself using a mobile phone without mobile internet. I tried to use 2G, 3G and 4G networks, but none work, nothing appears. Also I tried to fix this problem by flashing a Cloudy ROM wich is lollipop 5.0 and it didn't solve my internet problem. BTW, my location is Estonia.
I really need your help guys, I'm desperate as hell, this is my last option, because I didn't find any other solutions on my own.
Counting on you :3

I think your a little confused about your network. HSPA IS WCDMA/GSM. You want to just slept gsm/WCDMA/LTE
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Flashing a ROM is not the solution. AT&T version of the LG G3 covers a limited radio frequency spectrum. It could be that the phone does not cover the frequency of your carrier. Another issue may be with the carrier themselves blocking the IMEI (I know some carriers require registering the IMEI on their network). Of course you must also make sure the carrier has data services available to you.
I kinda have the same problem....
No service.
I've tried everything to no avail.
Help gor a fix.
Hello,
Does anyone know what I can do to lock my OnePlus 7 pro to T-Mobile? I live quite close to Canada and the phone always tries to connect to Rodgers or Bell. I tried going into mobile networks and unchecking the box to automatically choose a network operator and selecting TMobile, but it still tries to roam and I get no service.
After some research, I see there's an app that may help me: Network Signal Guru. It requires root, and I don't really want to go this route unless I have no other option.
Thanks in advance

Can't you go into the phone settings and turn off roaming?.
Open the phone app, three dots at the top, settings, all the way at the bottom, Sim and Network, Sim 1, turn off roaming in there.

If I do that then I'm in the same situation with no bars, no data. I need to force it to connect to TMobile

Go to sim and network, tap on the sim you are using. Scroll all the way down, tap on Network operator, disable the option to choose automatically, it will scan for available networks, choose T-Mobile. Leave the option disabled. it should be it.
