It is app Superuser mistake today? ( in the time of app SuperSU ) - General Questions and Answers

Hello, I have rooted Sony Xperia Z1 compact. I couldn't use SuperSU, because no successful installation this app after update. I suppose, that Superuser is not supported ( developed ) any more. And I have a problem with Superuser also. There is no app in the list of permitted app ( of course Link2sd has root permission ). 2nd problem - no question, when I start any app which need root! Should I use SuperSU even with problem by installation? thanks

You tried SuperSU??

Yes, I did. By rooting. SuperSU fails. Update SuperSU ( binary files ) is not possible. Now I have Superuser, so I suppose I ought not to try install SuperSU simultaneously

[Q] GS4 installing superuser

i just rooted my phone using motochopper. and am trying to use ltm launcher. every time i open it, it says root context not able to get permission.
and then when i go to the superuser, it says the superuser binary (su) must be updated. and it ask if i want to recovery install or just install, but none of it works. i even downloaded supersu from chainfire and it says there is no su binary installed. so i need help getting root permission to apps so i can get lmt launcher to work.
i read an old post with they guy with the same problem and u told him to flash it with something but i am not really sure how to do that. so if u can kind of explain how to do that.

Just installing the super user app from play store doesn't root your phone.
SuperUser app only manages root permissions. It itself does not root the phone. Head over to your xda section and read there how to root your phone .

Like I've said I have already rooted my phone using motochopper. That's not the problem. The problem is not getting super user updated

Did you follow the official rooting procedure as given in your xda forum? Because if your phone is rooted then you won't face any problem related to SuperUser app and updating binary and all these stuffs.
I've had the same problem as listed above.

[Q] 15.3.A.0.26 root. [JB 4.2]

My girlfriend is on the latest 4.2 update and I have been trying to root her phone with no success.. theres one method but it seems malicious.
So has anyone successfully rooted 15.3.A.0.26?
The same with me. Still looking for a safer way to root. Serajr has released his rom for locked bootloader.
The best way for now is by using supersu and its binary within extended stock kernel by using this method..root 4.2.2
But flashing kernels it's only for unlocked bootloaders...anyway, the VRoot mode for flashing (maybe, the "malicious" way) it's secure to do, i rooted my XL with that and works perfect
like this ...method iam sucses root with v root

Enjoy!!
I also tried many times with these methods but no sucess
But Atlast There is an application called "V ROOT" it will root ur device without any problem
But it will install another superuser app to install supersu
1. Go to play store
2.download and install Super SU
3.Change it into system app
4. Restart your device
5. Enjoy ur trouble free rooting experience
Download V root from google, just type in mgyun vroot and open the first website and click the blue button with the download sign

If, for some reason, you want to use the exploit Vroot is using, but don't want it to connect to their servers, use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546964
Otherwise just use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48067489&postcount=195
They might be using the same exploit, don't know about that.
There's other safe method available for rooting 4.2.2, check out our Xperia L board..

But tell me one more thing what superuser does.. i think superuser app only gives the permission to the root apps to install something in root area.. right? superuser app work is just to allow or deny the permission to the app right..?
So if i don't unroot my phone and if i just simply remove superuser app then i still should be able to install root apps in the root? because my phone is rooted.. and i have just removed superuser app which gives permission only.
I think superuser only gives the permission to the app SO apps will be intall in the root just without any permission of superuser?? this is what superuser does ONLY?
I think i am misunderstanding something about superuser.. Correct me please if i am wrong.. :good:

Yes,
It gives permissions to access, modify your Root area[Restricted when you are Non-Rooted].
No,
Removing SU app will remove permissions with It. So after that you cant use those Rooted app which you gave Permissions when u had SU App.
Note:- Without any SU app you can't Play your System Files..
nor your rooted apps will work..

S4 mk2 i337 soft bricked...
This is the link I started dealing with:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
Problem is, I uninstalled a system file or two...or 15...and now the phone will start up, but no apps show up, just black screen. I can navigate still and work around it, but what i CAN'T do is give permission to that batch file once it recognizes the phone.
Obviously, I didn't know what I was doing, so I didn't realize that unrooting it wouldn't solve the problem, so I need to root, and then somehow get my system files back in place. Titanium Backup says my back up doesn't exist...pretty frustrated, I've spent 10+ hours on this site and some others trying to get back in, so I apologize upfront for possibly missing a post elsewhere

[Completed] SuperUser is not being detected by some apps.

my phone is 100% rooted and has the latest su binary installed.
most of root apps work fine but recently i have faced problems with two apps which are Psiphon and Tasker.
-When i tick "force root tunnel" in psiphon, it says "root mode is not supported for this version of android" and confirmation box of superuser didnt show at all.
(force root tunnel means tunneling the device without using the built-in VPN service API like in android 2.3)
-Tasker does not request for su permission when force kill (root access) is checked.

I solved it.
installing phh needed the latest version of twrp (3.0.2)
after a successfull flash of the zip package (superuser.zip), I lost root access and the old superuser app from chainfire was deleted.
Can you tell me how to install phh step by step?

Do you not have the new superuser app anywhere it should be there. Try installing the app from play store and see

I flashed the superuser.zip again and this time I wiped the dalvik cache. Now i got the root acces back but still the two apps Psiphon and tasker are NOT requesting for su permission while other apps have no problem with it.

The problem is due to missing Tun module which is not available for my device. Galaxy core prime comes with a preloaded Tun module in the kernel and it's not replacable nor compatible with Psiphon.
Old VPN clients do not depend on the built in VPN service API but require a custom Tun module to perform the tunnel in root mode.
As for the tasker, a recommended modification on the build.prop fixed the issue.
Thanks anyway.
