[Completed] SuperUser is not being detected by some apps. - XDA Assist

my phone is 100% rooted and has the latest su binary installed.
most of root apps work fine but recently i have faced problems with two apps which are Psiphon and Tasker.
-When i tick "force root tunnel" in psiphon, it says "root mode is not supported for this version of android" and confirmation box of superuser didnt show at all.
(force root tunnel means tunneling the device without using the built-in VPN service API like in android 2.3)
-Tasker does not request for su permission when force kill (root access) is checked.

Greetings and welcome to assist. Have you tried usinf phh Superuser instead of SU to see if that makes a difference ? Flashing the latest phh superuser will also remove the su apk for you as well

I solved it.
installing phh needed the latest version of twrp (3.0.2)
after a successfull flash of the zip package (superuser.zip), I lost root access and the old superuser app from chainfire was deleted.
Can you tell me how to install phh step by step?

Do you not have the new superuser app anywhere it should be there. Try installing the app from play store and see

The problem is due to missing Tun module which is not available for my device. Galaxy core prime comes with a preloaded Tun module in the kernel and it's not replacable nor compatible with Psiphon.
Old VPN clients do not depend on the built in VPN service API but require a custom Tun module to perform the tunnel in root mode.
As for the tasker, a recommended modification on the build.prop fixed the issue.
Thanks anyway.

CM11 get rid of Superuser?

I'm using a CM11 ROM, and Superuser is giving me problems - throws up errors now & again. I like and want to use SuperSU, but Superuser is integrated into the ROM.
How can I get rid of Superuser and replace with SuperSU (preferably just using my phone, no ADB).

in the integrated superuser menu(can be found in device settings), if you open settings, you have the option of giving superuser access to "disabled" (by default it is apps only).
after disabling you just have to flash the supersu zip file(can be found on the supersu xda forum) via recovery mode. and you're done.
I flash the superSU.zip after flashing CM11 and Gapps so superSU is the main root app. Never had an issue.
Please keep it friendly and there is no need for name calling of any kind. We tend not to like people resurrecting old threads, but seen as this came in handy for someone there's no harm done.

[Q] Temp Unroot needed for NowTV . --- (A) This has now been Answered in Post 9

Hi all ,
I'm wanting to use NowTV (like SkyGo) on my OnePlus , however they are using a type of Root check that most root hiders cannot bypass.
Therefore I'm looking for a way to temp unroot and then root back again with ease.
just wondering if there are any tools or easy to follow guides?
thanks
Disable Superuser in SuperSU settings.

Or if you are on a Cm nightly you can turn them off in the developer option
Disabling super user doesn't work, their detection method is unknown and they check more than the su binary.
I might try the nightlies, however I need stability.
Thanks for the responses so far
Outside of the nightly wing if you want stability use the M releases, they are designed to be more stable than the nightly branch

The problem isn't really the SuperSU as such, it's CM. They flag CM as a rooted ROM, it'll even happen if you're on stock un-rooted CM11S.
Transmitted via Bacon
I'm pretty sure that I saw an xposed module that could hide superuser completely. Might want to give that a try

As per my post right above yours, it isn't SU that's the problem, it's that the ROM is CM.
Transmitted via Bacon
Timmaaa is correct and that's the info I wanted, I had tried the xposed modules but none worked and now I know why.
I'll contact sky and see if I get anywhere
****EDIT****
So it seems that Timmaaa is NOT correct as there is NO CyanogenMod or any ROM check, it's all to do with the the name of your Root App
Short Version is unroot and uninstall SU app for this to work (removing SU Binary or removing Root alone is not enough)
So we need to have a new Root app with a new AppID and name , and also the SU binary to be identified as something else for this to possibly work.
I now have NOWTV working , and it's on an Unrooted One+One with no SU App installed after running full Unroot (however my SUPro app is still installed)
Note that SUPro does nothing really and just gives extra functionality when the main SU app is installed.
Thanks for everyone help and input on this.
So it seems that you would have to
1)Full UnRoot (Which also uninstalls the main SuperUser app)
2) Watch what ever you wanted to on NowTV or SkyGO
3)Go through the Rooting process again as if it were a new device. (which will again stop NOWTV/SkyGo) from working.
Do steps 1 and 2 again to watch.
This would have to be done everytime you want to watch NowTV

This is just a theory... may be wrong:
Can't you move the SuperSU app into /system/app instead of /data/app. Or does the NOWTV app have perms to check the integrity of /system also. Or can you change the app id of the SuperSU app with a simple decompile tool.
I did that while using cm11s. But still had problems trying to watch skygo. In the end I had alter my buildprop to a phone which supports skygo as at the time it didn't support oneplus one. Then full unroot etc to watch then root back to get root access again.

I tried dowbloading the zip for viper4android from XDA official forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223) however none of the zips were working; everytime i download and try to extract it says "bad zip file". Mediafire link works and zip ok. Don't use your mobile internet to download the zip but a computer with broadband.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply, i have downloaded and installed Viper and its driver as well; however it is still asking to install the driver every time i open it. Is it a known issue ? If yes then how to fix it; i have followed the instructions as given in the official forum.

The point is that for Anhdroid 5.0 and later you'll need to set your kernel to "permissive". You can use "SELinux Mode Changer" for doing so, if you have no option to install a permanent "permissive" kernel.
BTW Please press the "thanks" buton at the bottom of my posts
Its still the same issue, its still asking to install/update the drivers and even after changing the mode with the the app you posted it still shows SELinux in enforcing mode. Doesn't standard Linux commands like "sestatus" work android ? How to i permanently set the SELinux mode to Permissive rather than Enforcing ?
Isnt there any config file for selinux where i can make the change and then reboot the phone ?

I wouldn't be sure about that. If you type in your password, once rooted, anything can easily capture the keyboard input and log it or send it out. Let me elaborate. It's like the guys who say, "Hey I have a firewall installed so it cannot communicate out." Yeah, o.k., so all the firewalls do is manage IPTABLES, so if I am an application and have root access, I can do what I want to avoid your firewall rules quite easily. Just a thought.
Hmm, updating the binary will remove the @#$%&* thing , we're just going to use the app to root our phone, and I guess wiping cache and dalvik is necessary
BTW tab 4 is best for gaming because of it looks and size but due to a stupid Samsung company, 1.2ghz + vivante gc1000 expect lagging, I hope some kind hearted will make a custom kernel for overclocking this tab.
BTW There's no Tex plugin on gltools, installing default will not work, so you have to find a cracked version of gltools, well if you do that... R.I.P expect force closes

Well i didnt say anything about firewalls i was daying if you manually disable wifi and use king root, it wont be able to connect anywhere to send any data.... also you can search by date and time files made during root session and remove everything to prevent any keyloger to work
Have ODIN and a stock image ready!!!
Be careful with this root process! The sm-t237p 5.1.1 OH7 boot loops and won't hold the root or Philz recovery... Yet!:cyclops:

No. I can easily change the file and date stamp to match any given system file you already have so that it is not easy to find. Also, Kingroot will not run correctly and root your device properly if it cannot contact it's servers to download the proper exploit for your device. Now, if you are talking about disabling wifi only so that Kingroot cannot contact it's servers after you are rooted, well, if you use any data what so ever, it can use that same data connection. As an example, I have to have data of some type to login to my bank site, etc..

Flashing recovery trips KNOX (no warranty or OTA updates) and the other method sometimes doesn't... Also, the recovery/zip method stopped working on lollipop and marshmallow with the older SuperSU builds but... Chainfire has a new BETA SuperSU 2.6X that is a systemless root and now working on the newer Android builds using the recovery/zip method. This seems to work for mostly ALL Samsung and Nexus devices... Read about it here:

Make Super Mario Run work on Rooted Android Devices

This is a starter thread for getting Nintendo's latest Android app (which has finally come from iOS over three months later), Super Mario Run, to work on Android devices that have been rooted and possibly have no Google Play Store installed. Developers, please contribute your findings!
It worked with root but I got an error when I finished the tutorial. Then I saved my game with a Nintendo account and I cleared game data. I've used magisk hide with this game and I can play again

After you've installed Magisk you just need to go to the Settings in the Magisk Manager APP and enable Magiskhide and then you should See a new tab for Magisk hide in the Manager APP and just select the Apps you want to hide root.

After you've installed Magisk you just need to go to the Settings in the Magisk Manager APP and enable Magiskhide and then you should See a new tab for Magisk hide in the Manager APP and just select the Apps you want to hide root.

I did exactly what you did and it worked fine for me.
So do I flash via twrp the zip in the magisk post?
I use magisk to hide mario but when i pass the tutorial send error 804 5100 and have to delete the Account:.xml located in /data/data/com.nintendo.zara/sharedfolder and then log in with my account so brings my save but i complete 1 course and the same error again and have to do it all over again, does anybody find a solution for this?
Is magisk a supersu replacement or can I just install alongside? It also says it requires 5.x so no 4.4?
Magisk work great for me

it is a supersu replacement but the magisk is great and has better functions and the moduls are great, forget the turning off part and the the recovery and flash the zip, the magisk do it all for you!

Don't think magisk works with cm12 on Amzn Fire Phone bc bootloader isn't actually unlocked. They should limit SafetyNet to Leaderboards - pretty sure that's what all the fuss is about. Fine, Nintendont take my money!
Magisk Manager won't install Magisk on my rooted S7 Edge. I've read that it's not compatible with Samsung devices right now, don't know if that's true. How else can I make Super Mario Run work?
suhide give me bootloop with lineos so I will try magisk

Miitomo was patched using a special security bypasser made for it, and also with XPosed and RootCloak. Is there a similar method for those who seem to have issues using Magisk?
I myself haven't tried Magisk. I'll see how it works on my Galaxy S7. :fingers-crossed:
Xda, please merge this thread with the other thread that I made. I accidentally made a duplicate.
I do not have Google Play services installed, and it seems to need it.
I'm currently running Magisk with Magisk Hide on and RootCloak as well and it keeps erroring out. Currently the only workaround I've found is deleting the deviceAccount xml file in the app prefs folder. I have a feeling it has something to do with xposed or safetynet that's causing it to fail. I enjoy the game enough that I wouldn't mind buying it, but not if Nintendo is going to lock users out like this.
