[Q] Xperia l power button - Sony Xperia L

Yesterday my power button Came out.. So I went to Sony svc and they say that the whole back panel would ne chanrs
.. And that would cost rs. 1200.
my phone is under warranty! What should I do now? I don't feel like spending 1200rs. On a small button.. Plus when I took my phone to a mobile shop.. The guy said that those svc guys are fooling me and the power button doesn't lie in the back panel

Try asking Sony support on their official site. Maybe svc just fooled you, I think that warranty is warranty...

They actually change the whole panel. My power button bacame faulty and when I went to Sony, they changed the whole panel INCLUDING touchscreeen.
Though it was under warranty so they didn't charge a single penny.
But I'm not sure about the back panel. My FRONT panel changed. The one that includes the silver lining.

My button is still working.. Just d silver cap on the power button is missing which makes it inconvenient to use.. Could you tell me what to say to the svc guys.. Or what I could do make them do it for free

Home Button Problem is solved
I solved my problem and got home buttom working as my friend solve my problem he just opened my phone and make separate it all and fixed button with his technique . its has water that stoped my home button and he cleaned it
more thing exact price of Samsung LCD (with sensors and home button) Is 4500/- its by Samsung officially and samsung care people says its of 5100 , one say its of 6300 and so on
its has one cable that connects home and other two buttons and that is easily available , for replacement u need some special trained person to replace ur sensors and ur home buttom nothing big
I would say: Try to wipe everything, somehow get into download mode (from running system/usb jig), and flash the last offical stock full (PIT+BOOT+ROM+MODEM) firmware available. I hope this will also reformat your phone back to RFS, otherwise you'll have a problem.
Then bring the phone to a service center. I think this is a hardware problem, or did you do something special before?
Please wait until someone verifies this.
@Sandeep......as u know you have to give it to service centre for permanent fix....however until that you can try this app called Home Button by black hound from playstore....it will solve ur problem temporarily

My sister's menu and back button was also damaged (dunno why). It costs alot since the whole touch panel needs to be replaced. So i just installed button saviour from the play store and it saved her phone.

Wow, i didn't think that such a "little" thing needs so much to be replaced.

If your touchscreen is working than you may flash AOKP rom. It has the ICS navigation bar at the bottom so no need to use button saviour. There is not much difference in using the bottom bar or the capacitive buttons.
PS: My both screen and the buttons are screwed up.
ok please atleast tell me where i can can get the lcd changed in cheapest price , i can use without those button but i dont like any defect in the phone....
Now sometimes its working and sometimes its not

Nexus 5 stuck in boot loop, probably power button problem, need some help

Today I was using my Nexus 5, I was on a call and suddenly it rebooted and got stuck in a boot loop then after. It would go till the Google logo or till the 4 dots animation and then keep rebooting itself again and again. I tried going into the recovery but it reboots itself within a second of entering into recovery.
At first I thought it was because of flashing Android L onto my phone, but I had done that several months ago and since it was working fine until today I was suspicious.
After some time I was finally able to turn on my phone but soon I found the probable cause of the problem. The power button wasn't functioning properly. Whenever I would lock my phone the screen would turn ON and OFF a couple of times and sometimes even the Power Off Dialog would appear out of nowhere. I'm guessing the power button is automatically being pressed by itself and is causing all these problems.
I bought my phone in Australia so I don't have the warranty covered here in India. I called LG, they told me the power button itself cannot be repaired, they have to replace the entire board of the phone and it would cost me around 13000 INR (210$)!!! I think the cost is too much for a power button problem.
Another solution would be to send it overseas to Australia where I bought it, but a couple of months ago I had also cracked the outer glass of the camera so I'm worried if it is eligible for replacement since it has some physical damage.
So can anyone help me here? Should I get the power button repaired by some local shop instead of LG? If I do that then maybe I'll even void my Australian warranty and lose my chances of getting it replaced overseas. Or should I just send it and get it replaced?
If anyone else has faced such problem then could you please give any advice to me. Thanks!
I would get the power button replaced locally. If your camera is cracked the warranty is probably voided anyway.

I have the exact same issue , please HELP !!!
The same thing happened , to me recently 2 days ago. Happened after lollipop , even the lg service center says many people have it after installing lollipop. He says the only thing he can do is replace the motherboard for a tiny power button issue. Cost wise 12500 rs !!!
Absolutely ridiculous , really felt sad.
Did you get it repaired ?

How do I resolve this? I am facing the exact same issue. The phone is out of warranty period. :crying::crying:
thanks in advance!
If your phone is still in warranty, consider contacting LG Care in Australia. At least they will give you a free replacement.
Was your phone rooted/bootloader unlocked?

I am based out of Mumbai , India. My phone was bought from US. The phone is out of warranty.
Same problem as I wrote here:

My phone doesn't even boot, it reboots or shutdown while the OS is loading.
I've managed to start the phone once by hitting it :silly: and got the pictures by USB. After that I selected factory reset in order to erase all my stuff. The phone still doesn't boot after I moved it from the table that time.
I did not even rooted my N5, by the moment it has Android 5.0.1 (the first update after it got Lollipop).
It just lasted 11 months. Before the N5 I had the N4 and had similar issues, so I wont buy LG anymore.
Someone with a solution? Can I buy a replacement or something?
Thanks!

I'm so sorry. It is probably a hardware problem. Would still recommend contacting LG. Because if you've tried all that is suggested on this thread and it still doesn't work, there's little chance that a miracle will happen.

Fret not , my friend.
The estimate LG gave me was 13000 to replace the motherboard for a faulty power button.
Took my phone to a local trusted and reliable mobile repair shop.
He fixed it for 250 rs, so yes that's definitely doable!
The problem is theres ICs and **** right beneath the power button , so thats a risk you take when replacing power button.
Too much solder heat will fry the ICs right under where the power button attaches.
My repair guy was totally cool with it.
Im selling my N5 , getting a note 4 .

Do not go to LG , theyll give you a non practical quotation.
Take it to a local repair shop guy who handles a lot of phones with tons of experience under the hood.
