Hello everyone,
I'm having some issues with my wi-fi connection. Almost evry time i try to load a webpage or an app's content th waitin time is very long and often the webpage doesn't even load in general. This is only happening when I'm using wi-fi, when using mobile networks everithing is OK.
I don't think the problem is bad wi-fi connection at home, because other devices connected to it works without problems.
Do anyone know what sort of problem it is and how to solve it?
Thank you

A defective wi-fi is improbable. Have you tried to use another wi-fi connection?

Yes, I have. The problem remains...

ok i did a search for WiFi problems everyone else's problem seems slightly different then mine
or not the same in the least
here is my problem
First i have NO data Plan so i turn 3g/4g off
then i Turn on WiFi and it works till i turn it off or reboot the phone
THEN even though it still connects to WiFi and my router says it's connected
i get no data throughput
no amount of resetting, deleting my router profile, rebooting phone, rebooting router, and messing with everything i can find INCLUDING setting my router to OPEN, changing the channel, changing from N to G or B from 40 mhz to 20
NOTHING works
EXCEPT
resetting phone to factory default
then it works again TILL i turn WiFi off or reboot/restart phone
any ideas ?
.
ok you can ignore this it has something to do with turning off the network 2g/3g/4g
I'm not sure what the setting is causing the problem, as I'm still looking into it
I'll post here when i find the setting that is causing the problem
in case it will help someone else
UPDATE:
ok under "Mobile network settings"
you can not turn off "Data enabled" (Enable data access over Mobile network)
why this affects WiFi i do not know as it should ONLY affect 2g/2g/4g
Because it says "Over Mobile network"
but it turns off WiFi data also
If i find anything else that effects WiFi I'll post it here
but for now this is the solution to my problem
PS: it's nice to be able to solve your own problem
PSS: don't call T-Mobile for help they will say you need flex pay or better plan to use WiFi, i hung up on the stupid bass-turd,
not to add to the fact it's super hard to understand their mangled English!
.
i got that problem last night, during my open box and testing the phone, all you have to do is reset the phone, then you are set to go; hope it works for you.
thanks for the reply
i found out what i was doing wrong
and edited my post
so others can not do what i did
thanks for the reply though
Maybe they did this on purpose to keep you from using the device with out a data plan. Who knows.
Has anybody tried to connect to a Time Capsule?? I cannot get my G2X to see my router for nothing. Is the G2X compatible with a N router??

maybe you should open your own thread about this ?
i do not use "Time Capsule" and not sure what it is (A router?)
to answer your last question the G2X supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot. so yes it supports the "N" standard
BUT
might not be compatible with ALL b/g/"N" routers
should be compatible with them all BUT might not be ...........
i am not an expert on routers, so cant say for sure
also could be that your router is to far away from your phone
your phones antenna is tiny, so has to be closer to the router then say a laptop or computer.
you might also want to consider going to a friends house and trying their wireless router.
anyway opening your own thread on this is your best bet
.
I have an airport extreme broadcasting mixed n/b/g and mine is really struggling. At first I thought it was the browser, but now it's doing it in both dolphin and the stock browser. It stalls a lot, connection seems to stop and restart. I already disabled wifi sleeping on the device. Pretty frustrating. Oh and mine is setup as hidden with no security on it at this time so that isn't the issue.

Hi,
I've just received my Samsung Focus AT&T Unlocked, everything's look good except WiFi won't work, no matter what I do. I've tried all suggestions posted online..
Did NoDo update
Tried WPA
Tried WPA2
Tried with No Security (Open Network)
Tried the channels 6, 9 and 11
Even reset the Router
Reset the Phone
I'd really appreciate any help, WiFi is a must for me!
Many thanks for your help!
You did NOT provide enough information so we can't help you.
Eg. Does your phone give an error connecting or does it not detect WiFi at all? Does your WiFi works elsewhere such as your office?
Oh sorry.
Phone detects all available networks, but can't join/use them. The error is:
"Connection Unsuccessful - Your phone couldn't reach the WiFi network xyz"
Yes, tried creating a network with my Macbook and joining, but that didn't work either.
Have you tried to connect using Wired connection (when your phone is connected to PC with Zune launched)? I just want to make sure that connecting to internet and getting and IP is not the problem.

Yes, that works. So I turned off 'Data Connection' from settings, connected to PC and opened Zune. I can access internet on the phone, even checked the IP, it seems to be using the PCs connection. Removed the USB cable, and there's no internet.
So yes, that works which confirms that there's physical fault in the phone, just a bug?

I had similar problem with my university wireless connection. After several access with Zune, the problem was fixed. And by the way, it may not be a hardware problem since your device detects the available network.
Perhaps you need to visit a phone shop.

Ah, thats a relief to know. And since windows is not officially available in my country, there are no shops.
I'm expecting one of the experts here to chime in and help, or someone who has experienced and resolced this issue before.
Thanks
Can you please tell me your router's mode, channel, fragmentation, treshold values. Maybe that'll help.
Anyone? WiFi not working is so annoying!
I'd really appreciate any help with this.
Try connecting to WiFi at your office or somewhere else.
I also have the Samsung Focus and it won't connect to a certain router no matter how I configuration the router.

Yes, it worked at a friends house, but wont work at mine.
My Galaxy note 10.1 is having problems with wifi. Connecting is not a problem, but at random intervals no communication between my router and the device occurs. At such times it claims it is still connected but only the green upload arrow is on, and none of the programs, like email en the browser, work. Toggling wifi to off and then on again fixes the situation, until it happens again at a seemingly random time later. I don't have problems with any of the other devices (windows laptops, ipad etc) that connect to this router.
Anyone an idea what this is and how to fix it? Or do I just have a faulty product and should return it?
I am running the original Samsung OS.
Does this happen on EVERY router You connect with ?
As it was with SGS II there are several routers/router types that "speak different connection languages" and/or have to be readjusted in their settings ........
Try first on a different router to check wether it is really the 10.1 causing the problem ....................

Thanks for the reply! Yes it disconnects on both the router at home and at work. So it is the 10.1 causing the problem. Also it looks like the problem is getting worse. It disconnects much more frequently, to the point that it has become unusable. Am I the only one with this problem? If so I should return it.
Thanks for your help.

Turned out to be a hardware problem. Returned the device and got it replaced. Works perfectly now.
I've had my Note since 8/24. No Wi-fi problems until today. I kept loosing the connection. The Note told me about it. It automatically switched to a different access point.
I turned my router off then on. It's been at least 6 hours without a problem.
Is there any way to be certain what the source of a connection problem is?
I have just discovered my wifi turns on and off every ten seconds when I connect to a Bluetooth headset or keyboard. Maddening.

Interesting. I use a BT speaker while watching Netflix. Periodically it loses the wifi connection, and I have been blaming it on my ISP and throttling. Maybe the issue is actually something different. Need to test it tonight.

Hi guys, I have this problem thats is annoying. When I connect mi phone to WiFi, I can't surf and all the other phones connected suffer problems like slow connection and sometimes they can't surf either.

Whenever I use bluetooth ear buds with my Samsung M12, while I am accessing internet through Wifi
(30mbps connection), my internet speed goes down drastically to a point, I cannot even watch YouTube video(360p) without buffering. (Update) Situation have become worse now, can't even open any web page, nothing works when I am using Internet through WiFi and connected to my buds via bluetooth (have tried different buds, headphones, neckband etc).
It happens only when I am connected to buds/headphones etc....otherwise there is no such issue while using bluetooth speakers, or transferring files through bluetooth or simply if bluetooth is turned on. DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, HAVE TRIED RESETING MY PHONE,BLUETOOTH SETTINGS EVERYTHING.
(tried samsung service center also as phone is under warranty, they kept my phone for a week and did nothing)
Nothing works.
I am forced to use wired earphones and headphones while using WiFi.
(HAVE ATTACHED TWO VIDEOS EXPLAINING THE WHOLE SITUATION)
PLEASE CAN ANYBODY HELP ME.

It is because you are using another phone as a hotspot, this setup is slow. It requires more data when using hotspot. For each bit of data that the device you are viewing uses, the device providing the hotspot is consuming several more bits of data, a very inefficient setup. Using Bluetooth at the same time also slows things down because the radio is having to do extra work.

I understand that it is not very efficient setup, I did it in emergency situation. But the problem occurs on Samsung device specifically, i have F41 and oneplus 3T both works perfectly on this same setup while their individual Bluetooth is turned on, only M12 seems to not work
Try if it's working in safe mode

Does this persists on other devices too ?
And does it happen in chrome only or around the whole ui
Try system update
It happens because BT and WiFi shares the band the wireless connection. Either setup your wifi to use 5Ghz or change the channel of the router to something optimal, where other devices (microwave etc.) doesnt ruin your signal.
