Im currently running slimkat 4.4.4 and every time I try to run google play music it force closes as it opens. I have tried uninstalling it and clearing the cache and data but it still does the same thing. I have heard that ad blocking programs can make it not function properly so I have tried the revert button on adfree and still nothing. I have tried uninstalling adfree and still nothing. I will say I did download some songs for local storage from my library on play music but I figured by clearing the cache and data it would wipe those away. I noticed before it went this route that it would crash when I tried to pull up my library. But now it does it as soon as the app opens. Anyone know a workaround for this or something that may be able to help.
What gapps did you flash? I am on the latest SlimKat weekly (2.7?) and flashed the ultra slim gapps. No problem here. A screen is attached.
Make a Nandroid, flash the latest weekly, latest ultra slim gapps and try again. See if that's the problem.
Otherwise I wouldn't know. Download the .apk and install it that way? Maybe the Play Store is causing the FC.

Tried it, same thing. At least now it will actually open and not crash immediately. But if I scroll down through my collection a little bit or if I go to my library by opening the menu on the left it crashes immediately.

Though it'll be great if Yajnab integrates gapps in cm 11 as soon as possible, it would save more space, since link2sd is not fully working and mounts2sd is not at all working (not mounting sd-ext), and in our galaxy fit, storage space is one of the chief problems we encounter
Hi. I'm experiencing a weird issue with my nexus 5 (stock ROM, root). When I try to install any application, at the permissions screen, I just cannot tap the "Install" button. It's like the touchscreen didn't work (but it works). The "cancel" button works fine, and the "install" button isn't grayed out or something. I've already tried rebooting or switching to landscape. Any suggestion? Thank you

I'd clear the cache and data from the Play Store and reboot and retry. If that doesn't work, then I''d clear the Google Play Services and Google Services Framework and reboot and retry. Might open up weird the first time or 2 after clearing all of them, but should get back to normal once everything logs in and resyncs.

Well, always want to eliminate the potential easy fixes first. Are you on Dalvik or ART? Do you have a custom recovery? Are these all apps or just ones that you have downloaded / used before? Are you able to uninstall an app you already have loaded and reinstall or just update one?

Ate you trying to install only apps from the play store or do you have an apk you're trying to install?
Duh, I just automatically read into the OP that it was the Play Store, not thinking of sideloading or other avenues.
OP: Do you have any type of screen adjustment apps for like brightness control? Lux, and Xposed mod, or something of the like? This can also create this issue. That or your package installer is messed up.

The problem happens to any the apk. I'm sure I could install them before. It does not happen when I download an app from Play Store, but that's because the permissions screen is different. I can successfully uninstall apps, but not reinstall or update them.
You're going to have to manually install them. Are they legal apps?

Ok then. First thing is the screen changing type apps. Screen brightness, etc. Uninstall any of those, reboot and try again. If there are no issues there, then clear the cache and data from your package installer (are you using the regular Package Installer or the Google Verify and Install one)? Once you do that, would reboot to CWM and clear cache/dalvik and fix permissions (if possible, haven't used CWM in awhile) and reboot. If all that fails, try another package installer.

Awesome! I just happened to have stumbled across this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048457 that seemed like the same boat you were in. So thanks to them, and Google. I'm just the messenger.
Something strange happened this morning with Hangouts, it updated to the new version that been pushing out over the last 24 hours.
When i went to load up the app i get a FC, and the same is happening with Youtube (not aware of that app updating though).
I have so far tried
1. Removing and re-installing both apps
2. Clearing the cache on the apps
3. Cleared the cache in recovery and also dalvik cache
4. Re-flashed the custom ROM (Mahdi Rom)
5. Re-flashed the gapps (PA micro version) i had installed
6. Re-installing an older version of both hangouts and youtube apk files
None of the above has fixed the problem. I guess wiping system and re-installing rom would fix the problem, but this is a last resort.
Before this hangouts app update everything was working fine.
Any other possibilities I can try?

Here's my problem, I've flashed the latest gapps on my m8 and everything works just fine, however, I noticed that play store are not showing images and icons for all the apps. It load just a few of them randomly. And screenshots NEVER loads.
I still can download and update things.
For reference, I checked the " Hosts " file and this came up on the top:

Already performed a "clear data" in both play store and Google play services, sign-out from my play store account, wipe dalvik/data via recovery. Etc.
Any help? Thanks in advance.

I'm using a rom based on the stock sense's lollipop
There's really any significant changes.
My model is the Chinese one (M8t) if that matters.
When I flashed the gapps using the original rom it didn't happened, however, it was the FULL gapps, containing a lot of bloat. This time around I used a minimal package, containing only the essential for play store to work (play services etc).
Thanks.

ok so there is two ways
1- the flashing process didn't go well
2-gapps problem
actually i use minimal gapps for android 5.1.1 and i don't have any problems
so you have the following to do :
1- re-flash the ROM and then reboot ..let your phone settle down..reboot to recovery wipe cache and dalvick cache then flash the minimal gapps
2-reflash the minimal gapps without the re-flashing the ROM ....(over-write the gapps again )
if both ways didn't work for you i recommend you change the GAPPS (maybe try delta gapps or get back to full )
good luck man

My gapps package wasn't downloaded from xda, maybe that's the problem.
Could you link me to the one you're using?

it still doesn't load icons an screenshots... I need serious help here. This is the only rom that works on my m8, since I don't have the RUU for it
Someone must have a solution for my issue. It should be something related to the "Hosts" file inside System>Etc.
Guys, don't let me in the dark.
Hmm. I al so get this problem but on 4.1.2 JB . There is way how to solve iy. Just go to setting. Go to wifi. Tap on your wifi and choose modify network. Tap advance optins. Choose static. And adjust your dns2 to 4.4.4.4 and the other one is 8.8.8.8 . Try to swap this two if this not working.

EDIT
fixed my problem by deleting the "Hosts" file.
I'm having problems post-flashing, getting the "trebuchet has stopped", google services has stopped, and various other google services crashing.
Flashed CM 13.1 from this thread;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2/10-inch-development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-cm13-0-t3303800
Flashed the marshmallow base G-apps from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/app-minimal-gapps-gapps-lp-20150107-1-t2997368
After crashing, it gets stuck in the CyanogenMod blue character boot screen but will reboot eventual if I hold the power button a couple times.
I tried the various trebhchet "solutions" I've seen posted (force stop, clear cache there and in contacts) which doesn't solve the problem. I've also skipped the google sign in the setup wizard and went straight to apps to set permissions and to play store to download Google app and Google Now as a couple threads have suggested.
Looking for help please

I'm pretty sure I did both and was getting errors either way. But I can try again and go with a clean install of CM.
So should I start from scratch (not worried about saving any data as It has been erased a couple times in my various attempts to fix it):
1.re-format
2.Flash recovery
3.Flash Gapps
4 reboot to system?
I read the reason for for the trebuchet error was because of it's tied in with the Google App (or Google Now) which is not included in the base gapps that I linked.

if that would be the case, there are many users using delta base gapps with cm13 with a clean install, why wouldn't we also had the same issue, including devs?

That's what I figured. I didn't see any threads under the CM 13 of people having issues so figured it was most likely in my flash process. I did re-format and re-flashed and it is fine now, so far. I did run into the trebuchet issue one time, but was able to force close, clear trebuchet cache, and change the permissions/defaults to fix it.
Something I did with setting the default launcher triggered the error, but not sure what.
Thanks for your help!
