[Q] Unlock bootloader with twrp installed? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have twrp installed, and locked the bootloader. Now when I try oem unlock, it takes me to twrp, but doesn't unlock the bootloader. My touch screen doesn't work, so I am trying to install cwm, so I can use the volume and power buttons to navigate. I was trying to erase my data in bastboot. But after erasing userdata and cache, it now bootloops. Just want device wiped. Maybe reflash stock? Any help would be great! Thanks

[Q] Galaxy Nexus freezes after Google logo

I have successfully rooted my Verizon Nexus version 4.04 build IMM76K and tried to flash two different ROM’s one is "Vicious-TORO-JellyBean-V3-signed" and the other is "Team Liquid Vicious-Toro V3-JellyBean Fully 100% Functional Deodex". On both it seemed to install fine, no error messages. Then at reboot it booted past the Google logo to the ROM logo and never passed it. I waited for a minimum of 20 minutes until I pulled the Battery and flashed back to stock. Please help.
Did flashing back to stock solve the problem, is your device ok?
Before you flash a custom ROM, always try wiping the cache and wiping the dalvich cache. You then wipe data and do a factory reset. After that you THEN install the ROM, that might've caused the problem. Maybe, I am not sure.
Which clockworkmod did you use to try flashing the ROMs, please give us more detail!
I actually did exactly as you said. Wiped, factory reset, wipe cache and then dalvich. Pushed the ROM to the phone and then installed it.I have been useing Gnex Toolkit v1.7
And did it work or what?
Wiping user data/Factory reset is important after installing the Custom ROM.
There is a good way to fix all this, make sure you backup EVERYTHING, and when I say EVERYTHING I mean EVERYTHING (Photos, Videos, EVERYTHING).
USE FASTBOOT, I have mentioned this heaps of times, I have because it just WORKS. I bricked my device before, and I just used fastboot. Understand 2 things if you're going to use it...
1. It DELETES EVERYTHING
2. You need to have your STOCK ROM in fastboot format
If you're willing to use fastboot and have the proper stock files here's how to do it (From Nexus S post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445635):
I QUOTE: "Put all six fastboot images in one folder, unlock your bootloader, perform the fastboot flashes, then lock the bootloader:
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock
"
Cheers
Oh by the way I am not sure if the oem lock and unlock bit applies to you, check a relative guide to Galaxy Nexus please , this was an example

Softbricked Nexus S

Hi, I have unrooted Nexus somehow its not booting up no just shoing google Logo. I can only enter in dast boot mode and bootloader is locked hence can not load a new rom to it. Tried to unlock the loaded but unable to do so. Used most of the tools in the forumn but sill no success. Its still not boots into android
Any help will be appritiated.
Can you enter recovery? Like stock recovery or clockworkmod. You should be able to.
If you have stock recovery navigate to it using bootloader, then to active the menu press both the power button and the volume keys ( sorry I don't know which one). Wipe data and factory reset. Select it. BUT THIS WILL CLEAR ALL DATA.
If you have clockworkmod again boot into it like above and select wipe data factory reset. This will not delete you data.
If you have TWRP you can for the same as clockworkmod. But go to menu "wipe" and select wipe data factory reset.
Hope this helps,

Have you tried Wug's Nexus Toolkit? There's an option in the program for this type of thing. It'll flash full stock on your phone but at least it'll be working again, and from there you can flash CWM and root the phone as usual.
It's in the Nexus S Android Development forum, sorry I can't post links yet since I don't have the 10 posts needs.

I am 101% sure that you are missing something while unlocking either the drivers or the fastboot files.
Otherwise nothing can stop you from unlocking. Finally when you unlock, flash the factory image via fastboot and then proceed again towards rooting and customs. :good:
can u please tell me what method you are using to unlock boot loader?
follow these steps:
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock

How to delete data?

I've broke touch, screen works but i can't no more reset as my nexus 5 is encrypted and i can't get access on it, any can help?
If the bootloader is unlocked, you could try erasing data, cache, or flashing a new userdata.img file to the phone in fastboot.

I never unlocked it or rooted the phone
Since the bootloader is locked, you won't be able to flash any files to the phone. You could try erasing data and cache partitions from fastboot.

Mate 8 bricked after unroot and return to Stock B320 ?

Hi,
I was running NXT-L29C432B320 Firmware with TWRP and root on my Mate 8. Due to some display issues I have to send the device to Huawei service now. Before I do that, I wanted to unroot and go back to Stock B320 Firmware with locked Bootloader. Now the Phone doesn't boot any longer. When I start now, I see the Huawei flower for 5 seconds than the screen gets black. Here's what I' ve done:
-Unroot via SuperSu app
-Unfortunately I forgot to wipe and do factory reset
-Flash Stock Recovery from B320 Firmware via fastboot
-Tried to lock Bootloader via Fastboot, but failed
-Flashed Boot.img, System.img from B320 Stock - Device stucked in bootloop for hours
-Flashed stock B320 firmware via Huawei dload method - Bootloader gets locked but phone doesn't boot completely
I still can unlock bootloader via fastboot & unlock code and I'm able to flash files.
What can I do to get the device working again?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Flash all image files via fastboot and reboot and wipe and start
...I've flashed the files recovery.img, boot.img, cust.img, system.img already. How can I wipe then at start? Do I need to flash TWRP again? If I flash stock recovery with TWRP, how will I be able to wipe anything?
...fastboot doesn't allow me to wipe anything! If I enter "fastboot wipe userdata", I'll get error message "fastboot error failed (remote command not allowed)!
Is there any solution for this?
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot reboot
Hold volume-up and power and wipe from recovery
error

Stuck in fastboot mode and twrp can't mount internal partitions

Hi,
So, I'm a bit new to this device and also helping a friend so not sure what actually caused this, but here is the issue I am having.
Whenever I turn on the phone, it boots only to fastboot mode. This is also true whenever plugging the charger to the phone.
Bootloader is still locked, and trying to flash stock rom using pc tool or fastboot shows that it is successful but has no effect. I've tried this multiple times.
I could boot directly to twrp, using fastboot boot and twrp shows that it can't mount any internal partition.
Issuing df command from twrp shows no partition other than tmpfs. Mount shows similar output, with the addition of recovery partitions.
Anything I could do about this phone?
Bootloader never locks in mi4i.
Try flashing TWRP instead of just booting into it
use
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
After flashing, allow modifications
and repair file system for system and data partitions to ext4 from wipe menu

Well, when I check in fastboot oem device-info
Device unlocked is false.
Doesn't that mean it's bootloader is locked?
Also I did tried flashing TWRP, but it won't stick. After reboot the modification just seems gone.
Mi4i bootloader is unlocked by default as far I knew. Did you try
fastboot oem unlock
to unlock it?
Did repair file system not work when you tried it from twrp?
