CM11 No HDMI capability - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an Asus TF300T with CyanogenMod 11. I noticed that HDMI doesn't work anymore. Is there like a root required app or something that can give me that capability?

I remember on CM and now on CROMBi I had to unplug and plug the HDMI cord a few times before it sent a signal out to the monitor/TV.

Did you have cm11 or an earlier version?

I installed it as soon as it came out (scroll down in thread  http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2570965) and at that time I never needed to use HDMI so I never tested it. The CROMBi ROM I'm using now is based off of CM11 so I'm assuming that out HDMI output drivers would be about the same.

On my TV since it is 720p it cuts off part of the screen when using HDMI or using my Chromecast. I've tested this on 1080p TVs and it works perfectly. If this is what you mean then there is no fix unless you have a TV that is 1080p

That does apply to me cuz I'm back on the stock rom and I have a 720p tv. If i were on android 4.3 or later i could use the "fix overscan" option of an app that requires root.

[FYI] Rooting under Windows with debugfs only works with the USB 2 port

Hey guys,
Since I cannot post in the developer section where it belongs, I'll put it up here for people to see.
If you're trying to root your device with the debugfs method, don't use a USB 3 port. Windows 7 recognised the device, installed the drivers successfully, but I couldn't get past the "daemon started successfully" message in the debugfs tool. Changing the port to the USB 2 and Windows installed the drivers for adb. The rooting with version 1.9 was without problems from there one.
I thought this info might be useful to some of you

I used my USB 3.0 ports just fine.
Ok, good to know. I used a Asus Zenbook (UX31E) and couldn't get usb3 working, so I might not be the only one

I was gonna say, apart from the fact that ultrabooks are not even in this list, the arguments against it are not very sophisticated. But enough of that

My question is there a step by step guide for this?

PlayStation Mobile for Android

I figured some people might be interested in running the PlayStation Mobile Store on the tf700 so here it goes.
1. Download and install the Store apk from http://www.playstation.com/psm/store/en.html
2. Download and flash the zip file via twrp or clockworkmod for the certification files from http://beta.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390113915771290047
3. Login to the store with your PSN account.
P.S. I did not create any of the files, just sharing the love.

The second link is not the certification zip. It looks like an old version of the apk. I used http://beta.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390113915771290047 to obtain the flashable zip. Everything is running smoothly. I just got done playing some lemmings

one last question before I start flashing it... how about updating the app... I know sony is touchy about hacking in their services, so I don't know how long we can keep using the ps mobile app.

I get an error now when I try to connect to the store, they must've figured out our "in"
PSN
Why are we not getting service? I read this article on tabletnews dot com last fall.

Just to confirm...for step 2 you must be rooted or running a custom rom ?

You have to have a custom recovery.
So just root can't do it.

Real Racing 3 compatibility

Can you guys check in the play store to see if Real Racing 3 is compatible with the TF700? I just flashed CROMi-X 5.0RC2 and I'm having issues with the RR3 app and it is showing to be incompatible. I had no such issues when running CROMi 4.7.0.

Im on CROMi-X 5.0RC2 and it downloaded just fine. Did you happen to flash the rom with the 1200x800 res option?
I just reflashed: Stock resolution...240 dpi...Hunds OC, US build. Cleared data and cache in the play store app. Rechecked. No joy not there.

Compatible with the game crashes

The issue turned out to be my resolution settings. That fixed the compatibility. The crashing issue was from using backed up data from a previous version. I reinstalled and let it do the big download. To restore your profile you only need to save a copy of the doc folder of the game's folder in the android folder.

I'm having a similar compatibility issue with NBA Game Time for Tablets, and I suspect it is a resolution issue because it worked fine while I was using CM10. Would you mind explaining exactly which resolution settings you changed? I have tried both 213 and 240 dpi and getting incompatibility in Play Store. Thanks.

Looking to root

I've rooted all of my phones since the OG Evo on sprint......but when it comes to this tablet I'm at a loss and not sure where to begin. I'm running the most current firmware. Please someone point me in the right direction. I do not have a computer anymore. I rooted my s3 without one so I'm assuming it's possible with the asus .

Sorry mate, I think you're out of luck. You need a pc to root the TF300T. You'll have to wait until you can get your hands on a pc... or if Chainfire starts developing for the TF300T. If Only.
