[Q] Choose Between phone - General Topics

Hi guys,
i need your help, i need to buy a new phone and I have two in mind: OnePlus One(64gb) and LG G3( 32gb/3gb ram).
I do gaming use and media consuming, I consider myself a medium/heavy user.
Wich one I should buy?
Thank you in advance.

When you're dealing with two high-end, respected phones, it really comes down more to personal preference, although there are some important factors to consider. You still need to procure an invite to order a OnePlus One, although that task is gradually becoming easier. Also, the One comes with Cyanogen preloaded. The removable battery and SD card on the G3 may also be important to you (they definitely are for me). Otherwise, the two handsets are extremely similar spec-wise, apart from the 1440p screen on the G3, which comes with its own benefits and caveats. You really cannot go wrong with either.

[Q] Reliability of unbranded Android phones vs 'original' Samsungs

Hi everyone,
After my Samsung S2 suffered water damage, I now need to buy a new smartphone, and I had almost decided for the S3, which now costs only GBP40 less than the S2. Until I stumbled upon this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/S7189-MTK6589-Android-Smartphone-UNLOCKED/dp/B00BG8F9G0
I have no problem with the idea of owning an "unbranded" phone, but I'm just worried that it might later turn out to be of substantially lower quality than the original. A colleague of mine owns a previous model of this Star phone (N7100), and he's been happy with it for the past year or so. After playing around with his phone a bit, it seemed fine to me, however I didn't get to test it in more detail (e.g. compare image quality of camera output with that from the S2, or see how stable the GPS fix is).
I'd have really liked to read a proper review for it (with benchmarks etc), or at least see a believable amount of user ratings. The Amazon product page has some good user reviews, but only 22 of them, and you can't really find much information about this model (or about the Star make in general) on the Internet.
What do you guys think? Is there reason to believe this phone would perform (visibly/audibly) worse than its closest Samsung equivalent, or that its life expectency would be shorter? Many thanks in advance for any help, I really appreciate it!

Please use one of ^^^^^these^^^^^^ threads. Otherwise the General forum would be full of these kinds of threads. One important difference that is independent of build quality is that branded phones have better OEM support and there is likely to be a lot more development on a branded device.

[Q] Interest in a tablet. Best low cost options?

So I am interested in getting a tablet, as I'd like a device that can handle productivity tasks better than my phone but is more portable than my laptop. However, I'm looking to spend as little money as possible for a decent device. So far these seem to be the best options
Nexus 7 2013 (<$200)
LG G Pad 8.3 (<$250)
New Nexus 8/9 (>$400)
I am leaning toward the LG as I would like a slightly larger device. I also want to use a hardware keyboard case/dock with the tablet I eventually purchase. I read in reviews that the N7 is too petite of a device to maximize keyboard use. While the new nexus would be ideal, I don't want to pay the full retail for the 32gb version so I would have to wait for price drops.. I currently would like the tablet now. I plan to root whatever the device I get. Based on all of this, which would yall recommend I purchase? Also if yall had any other suggestions I would appreciate it, Thanks.

Best phone under 300€

Hello everybody,
My boyfriend and I are looking for a new smartphone. We wouldn't want to spend more than 300€ on each phone. We have done lot of work but we still can't decide what's the best choice. So far Xiaomi Mi4c or Oneplus One seem to be the best deal, but our knowledge is limited.
Important points:
-Enough RAM
-Good processor
-4G connection
-Fair battery life (at least 1 day with no charging)
Other aspects like design, camera, additional services, materials... are not that important as the previous ones.
We would be buying two mobile phones, so if anyone knows some offer please tell us!
Thank you for your time :fingers-crossed:

best android TV box to date, for end of 2015?

hey guys, I'm in the market for a quality android TV device and have never really looked into them before. seemingly/surprisingly no one has asked this before in this forum so I humbly ask, which ones make the cut and also are there any to avoid?
I plan on getting one for someone as a gift for Christmas so for me this is kind of urgent. I have found similar articles that can answer this on Google but I fully intend on rooting so while I may compromise on the ease of or availability of rooting, I'd prefer not to get one that is a locked up Kremlin and will still weigh in all options.
I am most impressed with GeekBox so far which appears to be brand new on the market and as such, lacks meritable reviews. there is one a couple clicks away from this thread but it is oriented on specs and I am gravely concerned about it's ability to keep cool -- it's small size and internals suggest there is no active cooling system which leads to me believe it'll manage heat by throttling. I am no expert on android TV devices but it is abundantly clear fans are the market standard and totally necessary (especially with 4k)
I value no opinions greater than those of us here on XDA, the rooting authority.
Hi,
Your question is so extensive, there are too many boxes on the market, that can be acceptable for your conditions(4k, heatsinking)
So you should find more addtional settings for box: form-factor, OS, brand named or OEM, price and etc.

[CLOSED] Looking for an android compatible with a plethora of custom ROMs under 400 USD.

I'm from India and I'm on the lookout for an android smartphone that's compatible with a plethora of custom ROMs including but not limited to GrapheneOS, CalyxOS, LineageOS, and many more. I also want the phone to have these features:
Great durability - must survive hundreds of accidental drops and millions of tosses onto table, bed and other furniture. It must also survive water and other beverages being spilled onto it.
Great battery life and screen
Latest connectivity features
Dual SIM and SD card slot would be great but not required.
I'm willing to make performance and storage (64GB is minimum) sacrifices for these features.
