[Q] JMP v 9 questions, and queries

hi everyone, could not find a thread on this thats why starting it,
FIRST of all hats off to jigar, what an awesome ROM
loving it to the core.

next just wanted to ask whether i can change build.prop( product model) to GT-i9000 using solid explorer, i have JMP v9 with game patch,
i am asking this cause i have seen ppl soft bricking their phones while attempting to do the same on jelly bean
plz clear my doubts.

Bro,
Offcourse you can change it easily but do take a backup first so that you can revert back. I always do this first after booting....
Never got bricked but do not change the finger prints.....

i know that buddy i did it when i was on ics, was working fine, but when i tried doing it after i upgraded to official jb by mmx , phone was soft bricked ( i used es explorer) then i flashed jmp v 9, now my device shows samsung gt-s9081, hence many games in play store are not showing thats y i askd, wheter i can do it in jmp rom, dont wanna reflash rom again, cause i have free version of tb and restoring all the apps one by one is a serious pain in a$$

I know this thats why i do this after my first boot. Be sure for this and change it to what you want.

Hi, if you don't mind having a 4.2 camera app then install the attached through CWMR and it will change your device identity to 'Galaxy Nexus' and Android Version to '4.2'
I don't know how but it does this. Do share your comments if this works for you.
Find the attached screenshot I have just captured.
Note: I am not the creator of this Camera 4.2 patch. I downloaded it from here from one of the threads (which I am not able to recall) and hence giving an open credit to the developer/compiler of the same here and also am thankful to him/her. Do not even know if I am allowed to redistribute it here or not.

[Q] Gionee E3

Hey guys, Im new to this site and pretty new to the Android operating system. I just got myself a Gionee E3, Dont say it doesn't exist or anything because its not on the website. Its not released yet in many places and Im in China where Im pretty sure they are moving the stock first. There is a video of it on youtube, just search "Gionee E3". Basically, its an amazing phone for the price you pay for in hardware specs (I think) but the problem is the Gionee stuff that comes with it. Im unable to do anything related to google accounts much less download from the Play Store. The current version is 4.2.1 and I've read that other people with Gionee issues in the past have had to root their phone and install custom firmwares and all that just to get google play store working. Now, Im ok with that, just that there aren't any instructions for this particular phone out yet, in the mean time, anyone know of any other methods I can try? Please??

Go on the browser and try downloading the play store apk?

Tried that first, didnt work. Also tried downloading the apk from the computer and installing it, didnt work. Think theres something in the phone that is stopping it form running Google stuff. Will need to wait until theres more info/a way to root I think.

Five simple steps:
Step 1: Root your phone using One-Click root or any other free software
Step 2: Install Root explorer apk from apkmania. Note: Place the apk file on your sd card. If you have a file manager, use it to open the apk. If you don't have a file manager, Open the web browser and type: file:///sdcard/ (name of the apk file).apk
Step 3: Install System Tuner pro apk. This allows you to uninstall all the crappy apps you don't need.
Step 4: Install google play store apk. Available on-line.This app allows you to officially download all the apps.
Step 5: Go out and Explore. :good:

Did anyone install custom recovery on Gionee E3 from above link? Please confirm. I have successfully rooted the phone. But have not been able to locate custom recovery like CWM or TWRP.

this is pJ from Kolkata . Got hold of my Gionee E3 two weeks back . I must say its an amazing phone . Just cant wait to root it and flash custom ROMS .

Cons -
1. Gaming Performance - This is the most frustrating thing that i found out as this mobile scores awesome on benchmarks .
I was facing many issues playing even the casual games like fruit ninja . I don't know what was causing this issue but the game was lagging . But on the other side a game like Dead Trigger Played awesomely..!
Also i was facing a lil bit of frame drops in games like
Subway Surfures
Temple Run 1 & 2
Asphalt 7
But on the other side Front line Commando Played Awesomely
I am still a little bit confused and thinking what is causing these issues. So i installed nova launcher , rooted my phone , deleted all the useless crap that gionee puts on this phone , and installed some task killers and an app named trickster mod (mobile needs to be rooted)
and did some tweakings in the app trickster mod and then the games that i mentioned played awesomely but for the time when the application trickster mod is running and each time u lock and unlock the phone u will need to launch this app to regain the access to the awesome performance.
2. No custom roms available yet
3. Heating issue near the camera when playing high end games
4. Camera Crashes Sometimes (Rare Times)
5. Screen Blacking Out and To do a Battery Pull (Rare)
That's pretty much u will need to know before buying this device.
Overall a good device ,
Some things Gionee needs to fix like Making their UI more simplistic and stock
Increasing the gaming performance by changing some software of the phone in their further updates
Removing the Pre-Loaded Crapware

I can open truecaller and search any numbers. But when I get any call from unknown number truecaller won't pop up. Please help......

I just bought the KarbonnA12+ from flipkart.com having 4.2.2 JB. The phone is nice. Tried a lot and used a lot of apps to root it.

BUT ULTIMATELY THE APP WHICH WORKED IS
**SRS One Click Android Root**
1. Install the app in ur pc.
2. Run it and select "Smart Root"
1st two exploits will fail but then a white popup will come in the screen, Click BOROMIR and thats it. your done.
REBOOT then!!!!

p.s. Please enable usb debigging and enable unknown software install.

Hey, hi... I'm also looking forward to buy the same from flipkart... How's the phone...??? After using a bit... does it hang...Does Google maps work on it properly.... Howz the battery?... If I load it with many apps... does it hang or get slowed down? I want to use it for constant internet connectivity with instant messengers like whatsapp and others... Want to use social networking sites like Facebook and others,... and stay in touch with Google maps... What do you say... should I buy it?

Starting off with the phone is very sleek and light. Till now it hasnt hanged even once. Honestly i am yet to try out the google maps so will post review in a day or two. Battery can be rated 7.5/10 as it gives a healthy amount of service, i used wifi for about 5 hours till it got red. If you load it with many apps then obviously it will get a bit slower as its having armv7 processor wid 512mb ram, try not to overhaul it, Otherwise the phone is pretty nice, sound is ordinary. Whatsapp and facebook works really well without lag. Games are real crisp and smooth, BUT hd games and games which r high end will have some lag but still it does not force close thats the good part.
Especially all of this at this price is a real good deal.
My suggestion u can go ahead and buy it. best of luck with it. Enjoy

i saw in youtube they were playing high end games like real racing 3,asphalt 8. Is it realy capable of playing high end games? I want to buy a budget phone for some gaming. Please suggest me.

A12+ stuck at boot screen
i have A12+ and have rooted it successfully:laugh: but then in hurry i have installed chainfire downloaded long ago which is not compatible with jellybean 4.2.2 and i am stuck in boot screen (the eye) , i have already tried wiping data and cache from recovery and i have not installed cwm i have stock recovery. i could have uninstalled it via adb but 4.2.2 have sideload only hence adb commands are not working adb shell returns error : closed error. now the only option i have is to flash stock rom which i have not backed up so it would be very kind of you to upload it .or i have also read that it could be achieved by installing TWRP recovery and then renaming some files and changing some values from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560607 , who had similar case like me .so if anyone could provide me the stock rom and preloader drivers it would be very helpful my mobile is just a week old :crying:

I've installed Rom cyanogenmod11 on Mobile Xperia Sola time ago and it works well
But after a while the camera stopped working and This message appears ( can't connect to camera) .. I tried a lot to fix it but it did not work
What should I do

50% of the time cyanogenmod is not done with the camera drivers so it wont work so far, you can try a 3d party off the play store.

Google play service which some of your applications is not supported by your devicehh

I have a big problem with Google play service
So I m gonna use GPS in short form.
My mobile is Micromax canvas fun a63. I have rooted my mobile, thanx to u guys
After 1 month of rooting my mobIle suddenly obe day it showed me this : GPS which some of your applications rely on is not supported by your devices, please contact manufacture for assistance...steps I have taken
1) format my mobile
2) change my custom Rom to cynogen x invinity (from your website)
3) installed gapps version 20130812
But now after a long time its showing me that u dont habe GPS, plz install
I tried to install it from Google play store but it never installed
- Then I manually tried to installl with lucky patcher but it says there r some file remain which have to be delete...
Plz help me without GPS I cant recover my clash of clans account to my mobile plz help
And yaa one more thing...after I change my Rom to cynogen. ..I download 2 more (I guess baidu or miui and asob roms) But cant install them....
