There is a specific Dot View case for the HTC One E8. You can find it on Amazon or some Chinese / Indian webshops. I currently can only find the Black, Blue and Red versions, but I believe also other colors should be available. Please see the following links on Amazon:
Blue version
Black version
Red version
Please note that the HTC One M8 has the following product code: HC M100. For the HTC One E8 (our version), you need to search for HC M110.
If anyone find an orange version, keep me posted!

Is anybody able to get their hands on this case? If yes, please share some pictures.

I just ordered the orange version from AliExpress, so in a week or two I should be able to share some photo's. Damn those Chinese Mail delivery times...
I will also try to get my hands on a M8 version, so we can see if it could be used. I guess not, especially since the position of the power button. But given the fact those are more easy to order, it would be nice though!

I got it about three days ago. Mine is a blue one.
Its back is hard plastic and the front is rubber, which feels quite nice. There is a thin layer of rubber inside the dots (except for the ones on the speakers) so it can protect the phone from dust, but I think that it will gather dirt.
The case is designed to automatically close so you have to hold it open while using the phone. When texting, the curved back of the phone makes it bump slightly when you touch the screen, which is annoying.
The time and notification display looks very cool, but you won't be able to see anything when using the phone outside, even at maximum brightness.
I haven't got a chance to test its protection yet (and hopefully won't) but according to some reviews on Amazon the phone pops out of the case when dropped.

The dot view is pretty cool. Mine is made of rubber, both front and back. I use a blue colored one. It's pretty hard, I dropped my phone once and the phone popped out to with stand the pressure. In Sun light you can't read any thing. Its better for indoor..the best part is holiday themes...I love this case. Where I go people wonder where in the earth I could find such a case...PROUD!!!

Like here is the pictures of DOT view cover for HTC ONE E8
it seems so sexy right there. i just buy it because i wanted to see the feature of cover and protect my screen.

Thumbs up to the post above....
Even i'm using the DOT VIEW case... It's just fantastic.
I even purchased the Xposed mod for it and it works 90% ok... Which is fine for me....
Lots of more stuff can be done with the mods.....
:good:

Guys, I've heard that the dot view case gets lint stuck in the holes. Is that true?

Yes, it does, but then it depends on usage... And also its easy to blow it off also through the holes... and if it doesnt well, you can always remove the stuck things with a small needle or pin etc....
Otherwise case is fantastic... using it with the Xposed mod is gr8
Cheers

Interesting. Will try it..

Knows how to take a fall!
I have the black dot view case for my grey E8. Using it for ~6months now
I've been fairly satisfied with its usage. The biggest USP is the holiday themes of course. The XDA community has been kind enough to provide a huge set of custom backgrounds for dot view themes.
I haven't had issues with the fit of the cover at all. All buttons are easily accessible, all corners are sufficiently protected.
Yes, the holes pick up a bit of lint, and yes, the screen gets the "dot matrix" pattern due to the cover, but those are easily cleaned.
Today came the actual test of this case. I was running late this morning (as usual ) & as I was rushing out of the metro station, BANG! Phone flew outta my pocket with so much force that the headphone jack got disconnected. Phone had fallen face down with so much force that the SD card tray popped out a little.
Dot View Case saved the day, with the only damage to the case itself, a small crack in the top right corner of the case.
So now that it has been field tested, you can safely go ahead and use it!

Yes I am currently using dot view case for the one e8.
It is a multifunctional case allowing you to receive calls without requiring the need to open the cover. Can also play games , change music tracks with just a swipe.
Pretty cool thing I must say. HTC thumbs up for the innovation....

(just realised this was an old thread, but for some reason it was appearing on my first page.... weird.)
Hello, everyone,
I'm using the Dot View case for my HTC One m8sw. Got it together with my phone. Does what's advertised: gestures, interaction with the phone without opening the case, works with loads of apps, Hangouts, email, whatsapp, messenger, missed calls, sms,.....
Plus sides:
- looks amazing
- Not too thick, as some third-party cases tend to be
- feels great
- functionality
- one HUGE plus side: it saved my phone more times than I can count. absorbs shock very well and protects the screen like a charm. pretty durable.
Minus sides:
- tends to get stuff, lint, grease from your hands stuck to it, and that shows on the screen once you open it
- interfers with the camera gesture (you can't hold the phone horizontally and press volume down to activate the camera directly from standby, if you have the case)
Mine is getting worn out, the corners are getting broken from so many falls (while the phone still looks brand new), and it still holds the phone perfectly and I'm gonna get another one once this one wears out completely, hands down.

Silicone case for flat back

Hi I am currently awaiting delivery for my DHD (and it could be a week or two).
I am wondering if anyone who owns a Silicone case - or something similar, and has found a case that allows for the phone to sit flat on a table surface to allow for one handed use. With the camera design set out from the main body I am hoping the case would come up to this level preventing rocking action.
Does the phone rock around on a table when used without a case or is it bearable?
I will then add a screen protector perhaps a Zagg product or similar.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Si
mine is currently cases-less, and does rock around when it on the table. however, placing a little phone sock under the phone is good at reducing the rocking, but i cant find one big enough to fit the phone in yet.
still looking for a good case, but it seems 3rd parties are being slow with this phone.
I'm needing a case or something like a bumper for my DHD.
I've had it 3 weeks and dropped it twice on to hard surfaces, got 2 small scratches and a small dent at the power button (since the button was flush with the case to start with, its actually made it a bit better!! LOL)
but my luck won't last too much longer so I need to protect it...
any ideas??
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I was thinking of using a phone sock to help keep it protected, the problem is having to slide the phone out every time i want to use it, id end up just leaving it somewhere. But keeping it steady with one is a good idea - but overall I'm looking for something more protective, good looking and will prevent the rocking.
I'm normally quite good with not dropping my phones, but a bumper or silicone case would be a must with a screen this size...don't really want to scratch or dent it (even if it has its upsides ;D ).
I'll keep looking, the annoying thing is that all the silicone ones I have found only have front or back on photos, not from the side...which is obviously important to check the level in relation to the camera area.
Cheers
Si
Was browsing through Google products and found this new one on Play, looks really cool not as dull and uninspired as the average silicone protector. I don't know again if it will help the issue with the raised camera, but I am still really interested.

I bought one of these and it does what it says on the tim. Protects the back and sides while offering unfettered access to the screen. It helps with the grip too, so I'm less likely to drop it (eek!)
Just so you know, the following case does have a slight wobble to it left and right when typing whilst on a flat surface. Not loads, but a wobble is there!

Yeah it looks good, nice to know its tougher than silicone, but unless it solves the rocking issue - I still prefer the one I found on Play...just because its cool looking.
but if you give it a go, let us know how well it performs and fits.
Well tbh I'm leaning toward the black one too but this TPU thing caught my attention and I was wondering if anyone has it

To be honest, I don't think the picture shown is even the actual product. There is no hole for the speaker and the whole is definitely for the 3.5mm jack. (you can see the power button raised on the upper right corner). Since the case is not released yet, this is quite possible.
I've got this one too...
As CD993 says it does wobble, but only marginally... this is a TOUCH screen after all, you don't need to press very hard for it to respond!
The fact it's nearly £10 cheaper than the official HTC one (and yes, the image is wrong or else it's not going to have enough cutouts on the back!) is good enough for me!

[Case] case-mate

I got the case-mate from Amazon and its an awesome case. I have had some.touchscreen issues but for some reason since I've put this case on, I haven't had them anymore. I dunno if its some sort of placebo effect or its the way the case grips the phone, either way I'm satisfied

I ordered Barely there & Tough to my Sensation, arrived yesterday.
Both fit perfectly and the quality is awesome. some thoughts after a days use & tryouts:
Barely there
+ small, doesnt add bulk
+ nice material, adds a bit more grip
+ cutouts are lined perfectly
- doesnt protect from drops, only from scratches
- upper & bottom are pretty much uncovered on the front side
Tough
+ nice protection
+ perfect fit (from the front as well, buttons still very well accessible)
+ like the styling, cant even notice that there are 2 different materials sometimes
+ I like the thickness, adds bulk but in a good way to my liking
- adds bulk, some might find it too much
- cost, 35€ is a bit too much for it
- not many colours out there yet
So all in all, very nice pair from case-mate.
And the best of all, my phones "deathgrip" issue vanished after putting on a case,
had a severe problem with the WiFi cnnection before, now nothing.
Absolutely amazing & a must buy for all Sensation owners IMHO....

What about GPS? I have Tough on Desire HD and it cuts receptions of GPS a lot.
I'm interested in the Tough case, but I'm concerned that the microphone holes on the back are covered. Have you tried recording audio with and without the case on to see if there is a difference?
On my hd2 I had full body ghost armor and a green barely there case. Max protection with minimum changes to original dimensions. I'll probably go the same route with the sensation.

No problems in any of the services anymore. The covered pinholes dont seem to matter either.
Made the phone 1000x better

No, havent recorded audio at all. Reception in phone calls to a friend are the same than without the case.
BT keeps the phone close to original, but the Tough isnt far off. It does bulk it up, but I kinda like it with the tough

I just got one two days ago. Like a few things about it and dislike few things about it..
I like that it makes the phone thicker and slightly bigger. Easier to hold for people with bigger hands. I like that it makes pressing the power and volume buttons extremely easy. Like the protection from the case too.
Dislike - the silicone case does attract some lint and dust. Need to clean now and then. For people who can't stand this, don't get this. Next... er.. can't quite think of anymore.

Leaves the deathgrip out.
Also 3G connection was suffering from small deathgrip issue before (dropped 1-2 beams when squeezing the bottom of the phone), with the case that was gone too.

I think this is more due to the fact where you keep your phone, not the case itself.
My shorts pockets attract a lot of lint & dust to the phone, with or without the case.
Ofcourse its easier to spot from that black silicone but I havent noticed any big changes after putting the case on...

Unicorn Beetle Case

Hi
My unicorn beetle case just arrive and I want to share my toughts with you.
First I order it from Amazon as I live in Chile the final cost was around 50 bucks.
I drop my first moto x 2014 (the one in the pics) and it screen shattered so a case for my new moto X was a must.
The case came in a really simple cardboard box, inside you find the 3 parts of the case:
- Front panel
- Back panel
- Belt clip holster
The plastic bag that contain them have a QR code with a link to a video of how asamble it but is really very easy.
The front panel have a integrated screen protector and only leave the mic, front camera and speaker unprotected (this is why this case is not waterproof).
The backpanel leaves the Motorola, the camera and the back mics unprotected also, but it have protectors for usb port and the audio jack.
The only fail that I notice is the holster, only once I was able to attach the phone to it, I haven't been able to do it again, it should be a lot more easier, but anyway I dind't plan to use it.
The phone dosn't gain a lot of weight and I still feel it comfortable.

I don't know if that will be a great idea, I use mine all the time but for a test that I really need to use wolfram alpha I remove it, I haven't been able since then to use it with out bubbles in the screen protector.

15€ on Amazon.fr
any updates? i tried the link you posted but had no luck. i got my phone on jan 2,15 and havent yet been able to find a case i like for it.
I've had this case for about a week, and I have mixed feelings. It's a very rugged case, and I feel comfortable about the phone not being damaged. However, there are a few things I would change about this case if I could. First, since the case isn't waterproof, it could do without the integrated screen protector and headphone/power port covers. It takes a little bit of dexterity to hold the cover open just to plug in the charger. Secondly, the power and volume buttons could be more pronounced. I have accidentally turned off the screen many times while trying to adjust the volume.
I don't regret the purchase, though, and I'd definitely recommend it as an alternative to Otterbox.
I've had this case in white for just over a month, here are my impressions.
- sturdy case
- excellent quality
- great price
First thing I did was yank off the screen protector. It is a far better plan to apply something like a BSE skin than to keep using the screen protector that's included.
This means you can take off/on the case with little fuss as much as you want. Its easy to remove and seems up to the task of repeated removal.
The fact that the front of the phone sits in the trim piece is awesome. Makes for a sandwiched and protected feel.
I like the port covers. Yes, they can be a pain to pop open for time to time but again they also seem to be built well enough to take the abuse.
Since we don't have a waterproof phone but only the nanocoating inside I like the added ingress protection that they offer.
I have the white/grey case and it is gaining some darkness on the corners but I'll blame my grubby mitts on that one.
The holster is good not great. Phone sits well in it and feels well made. Too bad its missing the kickstand in the clip.
All in all I give it a 9/10.
For the price it sells for and the protection it offers its a no brainer.

I've had one of these cases for a while. I only use it when at work and do a manual job with dust, grit, grime and angry bovines. Well they're not angry all the time! The case is the dark gray/black and is in not bad condition considering. The Moto X on the other hand is pristine despites drops out of open tractor doors, drops onto concrete and countless excursions onto cab floors.
The built in screen protector is useful as I don't have anything on my moto x 2014 screen. I tried a couple of the glass screen protectors but removed both after a short time with the edges lifting and dust getting under the lifted edges. I also like the port covers though agree both are a little tricky to open. That said I rarely open either when the case is fitted. On previous phones I've has dust and chaff get jammed in the usb port and once somehow managed to get an animal feed pellet stuck in the headphones jack.
When I ordered the Unicorn case, unbeknown to me the mrs had ordered me an Otterbox Defender case so have that as well. It seems to bulk the phone more than the Unicorn case and the rubber texture makes it less easy to remove from pockets. It is also harder to fit compared to the Unicorn but on the other hand you about need a tyre lever to remove the Unicorn. It's a good case but prefer the Unicorn. I say again I only use a case on my Moto X for work. For pleasure it goes bare
I ordered the Beetle case, and it is in my opinion, the best case I have tried for the phone.
Thanks for the suggestion

Buyer Beware! QIALINO S-View Real Leather Case

Bought this case off of Ebay. Follow the link below to see the case. Look at the picture of case provided, it shows the S View the way it should look. Further down the post is a statement you must download an app to make S view work. So I get the case and there is a plastic card with an internet website and a serial number. After getting the app from an unsecured website in China and installing. The S view is no where's near what is in the picture on Ebay. I have a OEM Samsung S view case with a 4 pin chip on the back inside of the case. This what makes the S view work. Yet the Samsung feels cheap and is made of plastic. I wanted the leather look and feel. Which the Ebay does provide but with too many other draw backs. Like, once you have the phone installed and open the case fully. It will never fully close again and I mean never, like it made rubber between the outside leather and the inside of the case. The is pure false advertising with picture be worth a thousand words. After several exchanges of emails between me and the company I havn't heard back from them.... So like I said, BUYER BEWARE. BAD, BAD CASE!

I also bought that case and it does look and feel great. If you give it some time to break in it will open and close properly. I don’t want or need full s-view function so I use this works good https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...eenonoff&hl=en
The phone comes on when i open the case and off when i close. If I press the case at the home button location the lock screen comes on and I see the time, date and weather in the window that’s all I need.
I also have my home button set to answer a call ... don't have to open my leather case to answer just press the case at the home button location ... of course the case has a window for caller id and a cut out for ear speaker
Bty: I don’t think there any aftermarket full S-view cases
edit ... fixed link to app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.danielkao.autoscreenonoff&hl=en

How long did it take for your case to break in. I am going a week and half. It is so bad I have sit something on top phone to keep the case closed.

Strange ... mine only took a day or two.
Did you buy from the same supplier as me. If so they were out of town and are back now. Check and see if they will exchange it.

That has to be the same folk because when i emailed about the problem I got an out of office till Jan 4 reply. I have case of .45 cal rounds sitting on the edge now. Hoping it will make stay closed. The look and feel of case is excellent. As I said in the first post, I haven't heard back from them.

If you decide to keep the case and use the app I posted you will need to place a small piece 0f light color tape inside the case where it contacts the proximity sensor. Apparently the sensor doesn’t like the color inside the case. The app developer makes note of that.
I just had another thought … do you have one of the thicker screen protectors on that may be preventing the case from closing?

Yes I am keeping the case. I also have the Samsung version to this case. And I used the chip from it so I don't need the app. I have no problem with the case from that stand point. Still trying to break the case in by flipping the case all the open. But once I do that the case will not close and will pop open. I have tried sitting a heavy object on the folding edge for 24 hrs. But it bounces back like it's made of rubber. The quality of a case with the leather and Samsung chip is what I should hsve gotten from Samsung in the first place. Not the cheap a $$ plastic. And no I run naked as far as s/p goes. With the Gorilla glass is so good and so much trouble with 3rd party glass s/p halo, why have it.

[Review] HTC Dot View ICE edition

Howdy, this is my first review. I thought I would have enjoyed a thread like this so I would create one. I am comparing the dot view ice to the dot view for the m8 because that is what I had and most likely what other have had. A side note, I am loving this phone! (And pics were taken with my old HTC EVO 4G LTE)
PICS:
http://imgur.com/a/s1Mli#0
The black m9 version is lighter than the m8 black version
The m9 'dot holes' are fractionally bigger than the m8's. To me, this makes the dots seem more vivid and brighter
The selfie-cam is no longer visible on the m9 version and is essentially protected
The m9 version covers the entire edge of the phone.
The m9 version is very tight on the phone. I really don't think dirt and things will get in between the phone and the case with the way the edge grips onto the phone. However because of this, the phone is very difficult to get ouf of the case. I feel that I might damage the case or the phone when removing it.
Since the case covers the entire phone (around the edges), the volume and power buttons are now covered. I feel they are a bit difficult to determine if I am pushing them- there is no clicky feel or noise made when pushing them.
Since the back is clear plastic, I feel that the outside will eventually be scratched to heck. I personally lay my phone with the screen up though usually.
The flappy cover still has the same rigidness and (I feel) quality as before.
The m8 doesn't function in the m9 case and the mm9 doesn't function in the m8 case. They DO fit in each other's cases, but the magnet that turns on the functionality is offset from the sensors rendering them incompatible.
If anyone feels that I missed anything, feel free to add to the list.

I can confirm that the M9 does not work in the M8 case. I have had a test M9 since January and an M8 with Dotview. As you state, the magnets are in different locations, as are the sensors. HTC told me early on that the M8 case wouldn't work.
Got the Dot View ICE edition for my M9, I'm really loving it. everybody at work was very impressed with it's functionality.
The thing that I'm uneasy about is the HTC Universal Car Mount for the M9. I mean using the car mount is really seamless. My problem is having to remove the phone from the case if I want to put it in the mount because I'm afraid the front cover will break or bend to the point where its no longer usable, at which point I will have a regular see trough case with no dot view at all...
Any one else having this issue?
Looks like the phone won't be popping out of the case as much or at all this time around.
I got one of these with a Tmobile gift card I had. I love the dot view and how it functions but the flip case isn't for me. It's awkward to use the phone with the flap open because it wants to spring back to the phone, and it's just a weird grip to use while using the device.
I really dig the look, size, and feature though!
Hi!
Stupid question maybe.. I've had a Dot View Ice since monday. I haven't paid much attention to the cover when it's closed, but today I realized that when I turn my phone sideways or upside down, the cover opens. Shouldn't that be prevented by the magnet inside?
Can anyone tell me if they experience this too or is my Dot View just ruined after four days?

I don't think it is ruined, I don't think the magnet is strong enough to out weigh the rubber casing and if you keep the case on while using your phone (more than 20 mins with cover bent to the back) it eventually wears down to the point where it will flip open turned sideways or upside down. I noticed this recently and take the phone out of the case when I am at home to preserve the elasticity of the case. Regardless it isn't like it was when I first purchased it, but I still use it to protect my phone when I am out and about.

Okay it's not just my case than.. Kind of disappointing though as it did hold the cover in the first few days of use..

I agree, for what we paid for it , it shouldn't have lost its "spunk" with in the first week of use. Its still a nice case and provides protection which matters most in the end.
FIt
I just got this case in the mail and it looks very slick. My only issue....it doesn't close all the way! I do have a glass screen protector so that my be the issue. Any one else having the same issue? or did I just get a defective case?

The screen protector is the issue. You don't need it anyway now.
I don't really know how it should be but the front flip cover sitting very los after few days of use. Coming from M7, no idea about M8 dot view only my girlfriend told me the phone is not save in
I have the Ice one and it doesn't close properly on mine either. No screen protector on either. Shoddy really.

Does the case have a built in screen protector because my last HTC that I had was the flip case and it wouldn't close all of the way and I thought I was OK, but the screen still got scratched.
I just got the premium case (non-ice). I believe the flap is just as rigid and will tear like the ice edition did. Meanwhile my m8 dot view never tore over two years. I hope this one lasts a while.

I had mine for 2wks and it was already tearing off. Exchanged it for a cheap-o Body Glove case with a stand. I really wish the dot-view was more durable, as I really like the idea!
i love this case but in 2 weeks , the front was separated from the back
and i didnt used it that much, nothing wrong of my part
thinking in glue it together again, any ideas?

So far, mine isn't tearing, but I have seldom opened it more than 90 degrees. Lol
