Hi everyone
I would like to know if is that possible to install the D802's firmware on D800??
I have the same exact question. If anyone finds out please message me and or let me know.
No
No, I was scammed into buying an at&t d800 which had a d802 back cover and box, etc.
When I flashed the d802 kdz I got random touches and reboots.
Used the d800 tot method and now the phone is fine.
Hope this helps
I don<t think this is possible, my friend had the same question but he was told it was not possible ..
Good luck anyways
It works
Hy!I have flashed my D800 with a D802 ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2678906 and I haven´t got any problems. But I see a lot of people who bricked their devices by trying this,I think that mine was a D802 flashed with a D800 ROM or I think it works only on unlocked 32GB devices because all the people that I have seen bricking their G2´s haved 16GB models, now flash tools shows my G2 as D802 (I have the 32GB model).I think that isn´t a problem since the AT&T D800 is identical with the D802 in terms hardware and spare parts (I changed my broken lcd and touchscreen module with D802´s and works flawelesly).So...who wants to asume the risk of flashing an international ROM could give it a try.Good Luck!
Honestly, I think the 1st question that should be asked and answered here is, is the hardware for the D800 and the D802 the same or are there any differences between the two. Roms are modeled off the phones stock Rom. So if you flash a Rom for one phone to a different phone and it works flawlessly, then chances are there are no hardware differences in the two variations of the phone. But if you do run into problems, like what sjk971005 had, then chances are there are in fact differences in hardware between the two variations.
It all really depends what you are trying to do. If you are trying to flash custom roms then I don't suggest it. I know that someone posted that you can do it but idk about that. Y would u want to flash a D802 version when you can easily get one specifically for that D800? You are probably just setting yourself up for more headaches in the future, i don't personally recommend it.

My Friend iam using LG G2 d800 32gb and its on 4.4.2 kitkat D80020c
can u please guid me how do i flash it with D80220c firmware.
Iam sick and tired of AT&T
Iam having the problems in contacts and messeging. the phone hangs and lags when using contact and sms.
To those that quoted me:
I ended up having the at&t software installed but debloated by myself until I decided to use Cloudy G2. Even the person quoted above says he installed a ROM. I recommend you guys read through the guides and flash a ROM from the G2 android development section such as Cloudyfa's or Abdulrahamamir's that is made to be compatible for all/most models. You will get the same experience as having the D802 and have no at&t bloatware.
Cheers

hi guys,
It's been a great time in the OneX forum - I still remember when I stayed up all night in excitement when the Bootloader was unlocked on the AT&T version !
I just got myself a LG G2 - which is suprisingly cheap (as new for 200 USD) and powerful for its size... and I am drooling over the 3000 mah battery. I thought of getting the OPO, as a lot of ex-Evita owners did, but things are really murky in the OPO territory with the whole CM incident. Also, it's way too big for me and does not have a tenth of the accessories that the LG G2 has.
I'm still holding on to my Evita - so I'll see you guys from time to time !
i got the LG G2 but im back on the evita. the evita is so much easier to modify. also with the at&t version the d800, uses .tot files instead of .kdz to go back to stock which has to be leaked instead of direct dl from lg which makes the firmware version old then u have to ota back up to latest. i should of gone with the htc one m7 or m8.
the plus side is if u dont need the current firmware images u can root and flash recovery all on the phone. i find the lg ui to be the only stock ui i can stand without having to go aosp as a must.
i tested the moto x and the nexus 6 which are nice but pricey right now. i have been waiting for moto to come out with a good android device on at&t since motorola got me started phone modding first with the triplets series v600 then at&t first android phone the moto backflip motus.
i will eventually pull out the lg g2 d800 again but for now the evita has given me new appreciation.

As compared to the Evita, the LG G2 is super moddable . Check out my story here . In fact I love the fact that I am able to hack the Lg G2 to the extent I am. You are incorrect in the TOT vs KDZ statement - the TOT is only needed for a particular flash method using LG Flash tool. However, the flash method I used to recover from my hardbricked phone only ever needed KDZ.
The M7 and M8 are the world's most unrepairable phones (here ) - one of the biggest reason that I did not go with them. As on today, the most hackable phones are the LG and the Moto.
If you want a brilliant stock experience on the G2, then I suggest Cloudy G3 which leverages the G3 UI (which is quite good). We are getting official Lollipop in Feb, so that should be pretty cool as well !
Earlier, the awesome Novembre5 had ported a T-Mobile 4.4.2 ROM for D800 users. This is awesome because we get to use WiFi Calling on our D800's even if we are on T-Mobile SIM's.
Now T-Mobile and AT&T finally have Android 5.0 Lollipop Builds out. We would greatly appreciate if someone could port this ROM over for us. I reached out to Novembre5 again, but he hadn't responded.
To that extent, lets put a bounty on it and see how badly people really want the Port.
I am willing to put $10 to whoever is able to port it for us.
If others are interested, do reply to this thread and I'll keep updating the list.
Pledges
1) aatifsumar: $10
2) wtang: $10
Total so far: $20
I think work should be done to decouple the ROM from the wifi-calling feature. I don't want to have to leave CloudyStock 2.7.
also, if you're serious, start an escrow service
I also use my D800 on T-Mobile. I'd love to be running official Lollipop with WiFi calling working! Count me in for $10.
Seems like a cool idea. However is not WiFi calling available for T-mobile costumers only, due to you need to register with T-mobile?

Yes, the ported ROM would be used by T-Mobile customers. Would not offer any advantages over the regular AT&T ROM for non T-Mo users.

I agree, that would be awesome, and also a lot more complex. Could you give me details of escrow services that could easily be used for such types of transactions? Thanks.

I wonder if indiegogo could function for this, though that would probably start from the developer side, and we need to start from the bait side. IE, people commit, their money enters escrow, and is only released from the pot when the requirements are met. The pot grows until a developer comes along and get tempted.

Because it for use on the att g2.
Getting an unlocked att g2 and using it on t-mobile is an option for people,
Also with the port of the t-mobile rom, we would be able to use t-mobiles wifi callibg which is only available on their stock lg rom.
We definity need this to happen. Been using the kitkat tmobile rom port for a while and i love the wifi calling
finally was able to update my att lg g2(d800) to tmobile lollipop

I'm confused. If all you did was switch the D800 modem for the D801 modem, and everything else is the same, then that means you're running your D800 with a D801 kernel? I assume the T-Mobile flashable Lollipop ROM in the link contains a D801 Lollipop kernel. I thought you can't run a kernel from another variant G2 on the AT&T G2. Can somebody clarify?

If u check Novembre5 post kitkat version, he mentioned that all he did was to add att modem rest all are of tmobile.
D801 kernet on d800 working without any issues... I had some minor glitches on camera once but mostly it is smooth..

Thanks for your reply. And thanks for figuring this out and sharing with the rest of us. I may try this when I get home tonight.
One question though. The AT&T D800 has an extra noise cancellation microphone on the back above the camera that the T-Mobile D801 doesn't have. I wonder if using the D801 kernel and ROM means that extra mic no longer works. Either way, it's not a big deal.

Hi, I bought last month a LG G3 D850 from AT&T, I'm from Argentina.
I must say that I'm very disappointed about this phone by the way, the extraction of the FM chip is really anoying.
But I have it, and for a year maybe I must use it.
The problem is that AT&T only update Android if you have a SIM Card from AT&T, and in Argentina AT&T doesn't exist.
I rooted the phone and try Cyanogem (the graphics are really poor and the performance is poorer) and Cloudy G3 (that has A LOT of bugs and problems with the system).
So I ask you, if you can help me, the official AT&T Room of Lollipop. I prefer a lot of AT&T programs (that can be uninstalled) that have a rom that crash every 5 minutes.
I apreciate your help a lot.

You can follow my LG G3 back to stock guide and use the tot method. But there's no lollipop. You'd be stuck with kitkat, as OTA doesn't work. There's no official D850 lollipop tot and probably never will be. You'd have to flash KitKat. And hope OTA might some how work or try manually downloading the OTA after rooting the fresh install of kitkat.

That's a shame.
But anyway, it's secure to come back to kitkat? Or there's a chance of broke the phone without a chance of recoverying it?
Can you put the link of the guide?

If you are OK with keeping root and TWRP, there are in fact stock ATT lollipop roms that you can use.

hi guys wondering if anyone can help? i have bought a lg g2 d802 32gb from a seller in asia on ebay and having some probs.
firstly, its not picking up 4g, i am with ee, and the d802 supports all 3 frequencies which ee use. i thought it may be a software issue, so i went to install cyanogenmod on it. the first thing i noticed which was strange is that the phone was already rooted (phone is sold as brand new) and has phils clockwork restore software on it? when i went to install the mod, it failed with a warning that the mod failed due to the phone actually being a d801!
now the imei, on the sticker on the back of phone matches the number in the hardware. and on doing a imei check online, it does state that its a d802?

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
My bet is that, with root and custom recovery on it already, someone decided to use a variant firmware on the device as well, making the device "think" it's a D801 (T-Mobile model) instead of a D802 (European model).
Either that, or someone went very great lengths on changing the model number on the device (including hacking LG).
In the case of the former, you will need a stock ROM to bring yourself back to the D802 firmware. I would clear this situation (and my theory) with the device experts first, as well, as get an idea as to what the process will be. Please check out the following thread:

thanks joel.maxuel to confuse matters, the cm12 for d802 wouldnt install, so i tried it with the d801 version and it worked.
so to confirm what your saying as im a newbie with rooting and mods etc.. if i put a stock rom back onto the d802, it would then accept cm12 specifically for a d802 and would stop the 'warning cant install this rom as this phone is a d801?'
many thanks, just trying to get clear the job to hand.

That's the theory, yes. But if everything seems to work while spoofed as a D801, I'm not sure if I see the point in bothering to switch it back. The only advantage I can see is to potentially take advantage of some cell frequencies that were previously blocked, and you may end up blocking other ones in the process.
Depends on where in the world you live. If it's North America, might as well leave things be (since the stock was for T-Mobile USA). If in Europe, you may be better off going back to D802 stock.
I hope that helps.

im in the uk, and d802 has the correct frequencies for 4g which my provider 'ee' uses which is why i specifically bought the d802. however 4g ISNT working with this 'd802' but it was working with my last d802.
upon going to install cm12 for d802, i was hoping the software change would make the 4g frequencies work as they should on a d802 e.g. 800/1800/2600.. philz clockwork mod tho just said that it cant install cm12 as the version i had d/l was for a d802 (of course - thats the phone i thought id bought!) philz clockworkmod says my phone is actually a d801, so im thinking there no wonder the 4g isnt working if thats the case!
i was unable to install cm12 rom for d802, so would a stock rom for d802 work? seeing as the error message i had with the cm12 was 'cant install this, your phone is a d801'
quite confusing i know hmmm

upon going to install cm12 for d802, i was hoping the software change would make the 4g frequencies work as they should on a d802 e.g.

As it sounds like you truly have a D802, in theory an 802 stock ROM should work. Was even suggested in the other thread you posted in. Although, putting the rubber to the road, I don't know for sure how to switch stock firmware's (normally for LG you need a KDZ file and an emergency flash tool). This part is best answered by asking in the thread I linked earlier on.
Best of luck.
Dear ,
I have an unlocked LG G3 D850. It had the at&t and it was causing problems with day to day use. I put twrp, cloudyg3, and rooted. Of course 5.0 is not good, so I want to either revert back to 4.4 or 6.0, but without at&t bloatware.
My question is, can I flash the D855 on the D850? This is not a device specific question. Does at&t change the hardware? Can I flash a non at&t on an at&t device? I would flash the new 6.0 at&t but do not want the bloatware. I would also like to keep it like stock lg, without the CM launcher or that stuff.
Again, this is a general question and not device specific.
Thank you modders!
(I researched and saw no answer to my question anywhere)
