[BOUNTY] Donate to get someone to port T-Mobile (D801) Lollipop ROM for D800 - AT&T LG G2

Earlier, the awesome Novembre5 had ported a T-Mobile 4.4.2 ROM for D800 users. This is awesome because we get to use WiFi Calling on our D800's even if we are on T-Mobile SIM's.
Now T-Mobile and AT&T finally have Android 5.0 Lollipop Builds out. We would greatly appreciate if someone could port this ROM over for us. I reached out to Novembre5 again, but he hadn't responded.
To that extent, lets put a bounty on it and see how badly people really want the Port.
I am willing to put $10 to whoever is able to port it for us.
If others are interested, do reply to this thread and I'll keep updating the list.
Pledges
1) aatifsumar: $10
2) wtang: $10
Total so far: $20

I think work should be done to decouple the ROM from the wifi-calling feature. I don't want to have to leave CloudyStock 2.7.
also, if you're serious, start an escrow service

I also use my D800 on T-Mobile. I'd love to be running official Lollipop with WiFi calling working! Count me in for $10.

Seems like a cool idea. However is not WiFi calling available for T-mobile costumers only, due to you need to register with T-mobile?

Yes, the ported ROM would be used by T-Mobile customers. Would not offer any advantages over the regular AT&T ROM for non T-Mo users.

I agree, that would be awesome, and also a lot more complex. Could you give me details of escrow services that could easily be used for such types of transactions? Thanks.

I wonder if indiegogo could function for this, though that would probably start from the developer side, and we need to start from the bait side. IE, people commit, their money enters escrow, and is only released from the pot when the requirements are met. The pot grows until a developer comes along and get tempted.

I don't get it... Why post on At&t lg g2 thread if we At&t users can use T-mobile WiFi calling?
Why not post this in this forums http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g2/development

Because it for use on the att g2.
Getting an unlocked att g2 and using it on t-mobile is an option for people,
Also with the port of the t-mobile rom, we would be able to use t-mobiles wifi callibg which is only available on their stock lg rom.

We definity need this to happen. Been using the kitkat tmobile rom port for a while and i love the wifi calling

finally was able to update my att lg g2(d800) to tmobile lollipop
Hi all,

I'm confused. If all you did was switch the D800 modem for the D801 modem, and everything else is the same, then that means you're running your D800 with a D801 kernel? I assume the T-Mobile flashable Lollipop ROM in the link contains a D801 Lollipop kernel. I thought you can't run a kernel from another variant G2 on the AT&T G2. Can somebody clarify?

If u check Novembre5 post kitkat version, he mentioned that all he did was to add att modem rest all are of tmobile.
D801 kernet on d800 working without any issues... I had some minor glitches on camera once but mostly it is smooth..

Thanks for your reply. And thanks for figuring this out and sharing with the rest of us. I may try this when I get home tonight.
One question though. The AT&T D800 has an extra noise cancellation microphone on the back above the camera that the T-Mobile D801 doesn't have. I wonder if using the D801 kernel and ROM means that extra mic no longer works. Either way, it's not a big deal.

I dont know about that.. I guess last time with kitkat i used custom kernel. May be once on lollipop we can flash custom kernel.

Note.... If you are needing to go back to locked and S-on for warranty purposes but are too leery to do it yourself, help is available via pm. Don't let your s/lock status from getting proper hardware RMA'S!
If you have bricked one beyond fixing and can't get it replaced, please consider donating it rather than throwing it in a desk drawer, shooting it, or whatever other crazy idea comes to mind. I can almost always put a bricked phone to good use.
Anyone who would like to use fastboot/adb for this device please use the following version fastboot/adb. It's HTC's own version. It works on pc's with less ram and it automatically breaks up a single zip into pieces for transfer. It also reflashes automatically if needed.
USE IT!

This clears things up a lot and should help quite a few people.

I managed to figure out the firmware largely due to dottat. There were multiple threads of various age, some with seemingly conflicting advice. This goes for most device forums I follow. There was no authoritative resource, IMO, until this thread.
The search feature was key, I am pretty thorough before embarking in firmware upgrades.

Your OP does contain the required information and instructions, so I can't really complain. One thing that could be helpful is to list the bootloader version info for each firmware release. You listed the most recent one right at the top of the thread, so at least it is easy to tell whether a given device is on the latest firmware or not. Because your thread is the main firmware thread, perhaps it would be best if the OP were organized into sections for 4.4.2, 4.4.3, and 4.4.4. It could be clarified which partitions are modified in the process, and whether the radios are affected. Install instructions could be put in their own spot.
These are only ideas! Also, your thread should probably be stickied. Thanks for all you do.

Firmware flash
Hello everyone. I am new to this Forum. I've only been here a few days. I have an Unlocked/S-Off Verizon HTC One M8 that I recently purchased from Ebay. I had a little trouble for a while when I first got it as it was running 4.4.2 and I took the OTA update to 4.4.3 and it messed up the phone. I didn't know it was Unlocked/S-Off'd. And the seller said it wasn't rooted any more. Well so now that I know it is even after running the Verizon RUU, I was wondering if I need to upgrade the firmware one upgrade at a time (meaning 4.4.3 and then 4.4.4)? Or can I jump to a 5.01 Lollipop ROM? I have TWRP installed and I used Flashify to install it. I'm hoping to use Flashify more for installing zips. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you....oh and I'm loving this M8!!!!

Hello dottat. Thank you for replying to my question(s). Yes I know that a ROM is different than firmware. I was just wondering if I had to upgrade my firmware one update at a time or if I could just jump from 4.4.2 to say 5.0 or 5.01 so that if I wanted to I could put a custom ROM on my M8. I'm not actually sure how high the firmware upgrades go. I've only seen 4.4.4 as the highest so far.

update process on factory unlocked VZW M8 used with GSM
Hi!
I am getting a verizon factory unlocked model and i am going to use it on a GSM network in india.Since its factory unlocked there should be no issues with the network. .however i had some doubts about the software updates. .so will i be able to receive and install updates normally without resorting to rooting the phone. .some people reported that they had an issue installing the update where it said that they have to be on CDMA or something like that. .Will i be able to overcome such issues by connecting to wifi?Is someone could shed a little light on how the update process works when used abroad with a GSM carrier it would be great!Thank you so much in advance!

You will always be able to install the s-on ruu from here. The problem is that the latter versions of software while sim unlocked have proven very difficult to use on some carriers because you can no longer edit apn. You have to chose from pre-provided apn and thats only if they show up with your SIM card inserted.
You would be really wise to s-off the phone even if you don't root it as this would be the only way to downgrade if you ended up not having a workable situation on the newer software.

[Q] AT&T D850 Stock ROM with multi-apn

Hi all,
I have installed the CM12-20141225-UNOFFICIAL-d850 ROM and it runs ok. But, the only two reasons I moved from the stock to a custom ROM were since I'm not on AT&T coverage, the stock would not find updates (even connect to the update servers) and that it would not register to a 4G LTE network here in Brazil.
The first time I installed the ROM I'm using now, I could get no APN here and managed to correct that with a multi-apn.zip file provided on a thread somewhere here (sorry! I can't seem to find it again!).
I'm considering going back to the stock ROM as I did not enjoyed the CM12 ROM all that much.
I'm sure there are other ROMs I could try, but I'd like to know if this multi-apn.zip patch would work with the stock rom as well.
Thanks in advance,
gtludwig

I have encountered APN issues on more than one cm/aosp based rom.
I would suggest trying Illusion rom (5.0.2), as I have not had the issue on this one and I personally find it more feature rich than CM12.

[Q] Request Lollipop 5.1.x original from AT&T

Hi, I bought last month a LG G3 D850 from AT&T, I'm from Argentina.
I must say that I'm very disappointed about this phone by the way, the extraction of the FM chip is really anoying.
But I have it, and for a year maybe I must use it.
The problem is that AT&T only update Android if you have a SIM Card from AT&T, and in Argentina AT&T doesn't exist.
I rooted the phone and try Cyanogem (the graphics are really poor and the performance is poorer) and Cloudy G3 (that has A LOT of bugs and problems with the system).
So I ask you, if you can help me, the official AT&T Room of Lollipop. I prefer a lot of AT&T programs (that can be uninstalled) that have a rom that crash every 5 minutes.
I apreciate your help a lot.

You can follow my LG G3 back to stock guide and use the tot method. But there's no lollipop. You'd be stuck with kitkat, as OTA doesn't work. There's no official D850 lollipop tot and probably never will be. You'd have to flash KitKat. And hope OTA might some how work or try manually downloading the OTA after rooting the fresh install of kitkat.

That's a shame.
But anyway, it's secure to come back to kitkat? Or there's a chance of broke the phone without a chance of recoverying it?
Can you put the link of the guide?
Thank you!

There will always be a way. . Just like ever since it first came out. It's just very doubtful that a stock lollipop will come out.

[Completed] fake lg g2 d802?

hi guys wondering if anyone can help? i have bought a lg g2 d802 32gb from a seller in asia on ebay and having some probs.
firstly, its not picking up 4g, i am with ee, and the d802 supports all 3 frequencies which ee use. i thought it may be a software issue, so i went to install cyanogenmod on it. the first thing i noticed which was strange is that the phone was already rooted (phone is sold as brand new) and has phils clockwork restore software on it? when i went to install the mod, it failed with a warning that the mod failed due to the phone actually being a d801!
now the imei, on the sticker on the back of phone matches the number in the hardware. and on doing a imei check online, it does state that its a d802?
confused.com!! any input would be welcome.

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
My bet is that, with root and custom recovery on it already, someone decided to use a variant firmware on the device as well, making the device "think" it's a D801 (T-Mobile model) instead of a D802 (European model).
Either that, or someone went very great lengths on changing the model number on the device (including hacking LG).
In the case of the former, you will need a stock ROM to bring yourself back to the D802 firmware. I would clear this situation (and my theory) with the device experts first, as well, as get an idea as to what the process will be. Please check out the following thread:
> LG G2 > G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD][Noob Friendly] LG G2 Ask any question
Note that, you will need to register for an XDA account to be able to post there.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

thanks joel.maxuel to confuse matters, the cm12 for d802 wouldnt install, so i tried it with the d801 version and it worked.
so to confirm what your saying as im a newbie with rooting and mods etc.. if i put a stock rom back onto the d802, it would then accept cm12 specifically for a d802 and would stop the 'warning cant install this rom as this phone is a d801?'
many thanks, just trying to get clear the job to hand.

That's the theory, yes. But if everything seems to work while spoofed as a D801, I'm not sure if I see the point in bothering to switch it back. The only advantage I can see is to potentially take advantage of some cell frequencies that were previously blocked, and you may end up blocking other ones in the process.
Depends on where in the world you live. If it's North America, might as well leave things be (since the stock was for T-Mobile USA). If in Europe, you may be better off going back to D802 stock.
I hope that helps.

im in the uk, and d802 has the correct frequencies for 4g which my provider 'ee' uses which is why i specifically bought the d802. however 4g ISNT working with this 'd802' but it was working with my last d802.
upon going to install cm12 for d802, i was hoping the software change would make the 4g frequencies work as they should on a d802 e.g. 800/1800/2600.. philz clockwork mod tho just said that it cant install cm12 as the version i had d/l was for a d802 (of course - thats the phone i thought id bought!) philz clockworkmod says my phone is actually a d801, so im thinking there no wonder the 4g isnt working if thats the case!
i was unable to install cm12 rom for d802, so would a stock rom for d802 work? seeing as the error message i had with the cm12 was 'cant install this, your phone is a d801'
quite confusing i know hmmm

As it sounds like you truly have a D802, in theory an 802 stock ROM should work. Was even suggested in the other thread you posted in. Although, putting the rubber to the road, I don't know for sure how to switch stock firmware's (normally for LG you need a KDZ file and an emergency flash tool). This part is best answered by asking in the thread I linked earlier on.
Best of luck.

Need help "rebuilding" superliterom for Verizon prepaid Galaxy s3

As we all know it was made for Verizon. I hate being on stock with prepaid of Verizon. The only custom rom I found that is touchwiz based, on 4.4 and for Verizon was superliterom. So what I'm trying to do is use superliterom by flashing it through safestrap 4.0. Now I have the nf5 module that was provided by the person who made superliterom and flashing the module made my Wi-Fi work just I've noticed some bugs. The boot animations never work. It's just a black screen. I keep getting that the system isn't responding and prompts to force close. Also I've noticed that it don't bring the on screen keyboard up even though it says it's installed. And the back, home, or menu keys don't work. So that being said, any idea how I can possibly rebuild the rom that's originally made for Verizon to be able to use on the prepaid side known as nf5 firmware that's 4.4.2. I really just am tired of stock and really need a custom one. Just one at least. If a dev could pick up on this an rebuild it for the prepaid side or make a custom one for prepaid would be greatly appreciated
Any help anyone? I know this phone is old but I can't give up on it
Any help would be appreciated guys.

The dev is still active on the SLR thread, saw him there today.
The other TW based custom rom for the d2vzw/i535 on the 4.4.2 bootloader is PaulPizz Rom. I'll see if I can find the link.
