I use my Note Pro 12.2 for business quite often. I currently use the stock email app but the widgets are limited and do not work with Nova Launcher. I have used Touchdown for a long time but I find it unreliable compared to the stock app.
Would like to get some feedback from people on what app you are using for Exchange mail and calendar. If you are using a non-native app, what is it about the app you like?
Thanks.
I use Aquamail for exchange email and Event Flow Calendar Widget for my calendar. Great combo.
Both can be configured to have their widgets transparent which I like a lot. Aquamail also has a dark theme that I like as well.

Id like to know if its possible to install thale stock mail.apk and htc mail widget to a Nonsense Evo.
If not is there something similar I could install??
EVO nosense.
Specifically what are you looking to do? Non-sense ROMs should have a mail app. Not sure about widgets since I don't use mail widgets but do you just want something that displays emails on a homescreen widget?
Thats what im looking for. The stock rom has a mail widget where I can see my emails on one of the screens 4x4 size. Where I can check my 2 hotmail accounts and my gmail account.
EVO nosense.
Ive been using pure messenger. Looks a little nicer than the sense one, but can be a slight buggy with updating.
Ill give that a try. But more suggestions will ve read.
EVO nosense.
Using pure messenger. Almost perfect substitute for what I was looking.
Thanks for the info.
EVO nosense.
Sigh, I'm also looking for a solution to this. On stock I had the Sense email widget for my exchange emails and it was awesome. The lack of good 4x4 email widgets is appalling.
I've tried Pure Messenger but it requires K9 mail which I simply can't get to work with my server.
I've tried "email widget" from the market, had to do some terminal work to get it to install as a system app, and it works, but looks like crap, text is way too small and runs together.
Really missing that Sense email widget.
I have recently changed my ROM to MIUI and it's awesome minus the calendar app.
And i've been tediously installing and testing different calendar apps to find one that fits my needs.
I love the looks of Pure Grid Calendar's 4x4 XL widget. But i hate that i have to use a different app to manage my calendars.
So i'm looking for an app that will have a widget similar to Pure Grid's, but has the capability to edit my calendar events, and even switch what type of calendar it is associated with.
And if that doesn't make sense then i will try to explain it a little better....
I have 2 calendars that i use "BILLS" and "PAID BILLS"
Pretty obvious what their purpose is.
The stock HTC Calendar on the EVO had the ability for me to change my task/event from BILLS to PAID BILLS.
Any help is appreciated.
Hi I am looking for a Widget that will display my exchange calendar, I have found loads that will do it for Google calendars but none for exchange. I am looking for something like this https://market.android.com/details?id=uk.co.olilan.touchcalendar&feature=search_result
Suggestions?
Android Agenda Widget & Jorte
I have been using the plus version of Android Agenda Widget for my exchange calendar events. It is extremely customizable and has a clean look to it. If you want an actual calendar, I suggest giving Jorte a try. I have found both of those programs work well together. Between the two, you should have plenty of calendar widgets that work with exchange.
I use CalWidget, it allows me to display pretty much any calendar I sync
I am quite confused at this time in technology we can't have the incons for emails show how many messages are available for individual accounts. I don't mean gmail but exchange etc. HTC does this for sense. Are there any roms that do this or something i am missing here? its ridiculous.
anyone know anything?
I would love to have some suggestions to this, too.
The included email app has this functionality to some extent. But, it only seems to works if you put in a shortcut to the entire inbox, and not individual accounts. Looks like the functionality goes away if you use another launcher.
And gmail's latest version doesn't allow 3rd party apps access to that information. So, the couple apps and launchers that used to give an unread counter for gmail, don't anymore.
Maybe try another 3rd party email client?
I tried a few 3rd party Apps. No go

"Enhanced Email" the app will allow a desktop widget that shows you how many unread emails you have.
You can also add the widget to your lock screen using Widgetlocker as the lockscreen app.
So I don't have to log into my phone to see how many unread emails I have. I simply press my power button and look at the lock screen..

Is there anyway (without rooting) to change the native calendar app on this device from S Planner to Google Calendar? I can add the damn widget to my home screen but it is a very disappointing misdirection to S-Planner when you click on it.
Your post intrigues me. I can find neither a Google Calendar app, nor a Google Calendar widget. Please share your source.
toenail_flicker;3184our post intrigues me. I can find neither a Google Calendar app said:
The native calendar widget appears, in facade at the very least to look like the Google calendar widget.
Click to collapse
you can try Android 4.1 Jellybean Calendar from the market... its widget (and the app) is stock android as far as i can tell and will take you to the stock calendar app on touching.
the reason i swapped s planner with this app is because of the way s planner widget shows full day events. i liked full day events to take up only a thin bar instead of the s planner way of showing full details... this app does that for you too.
As of recently there is now an Official Google calendar app.
By default, at least on my note, the widgets are all from S-planner in anycase so definitely it would open S-planner.
What you could do is install Google calendar set it as default in settings and disable S-planner altogether in the app settings. Although i dont see a widget for calendar on my tab
