Email Notification on launcher or rom???? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I am quite confused at this time in technology we can't have the incons for emails show how many messages are available for individual accounts. I don't mean gmail but exchange etc. HTC does this for sense. Are there any roms that do this or something i am missing here? its ridiculous.

anyone know anything?

I would love to have some suggestions to this, too.
The included email app has this functionality to some extent. But, it only seems to works if you put in a shortcut to the entire inbox, and not individual accounts. Looks like the functionality goes away if you use another launcher.
And gmail's latest version doesn't allow 3rd party apps access to that information. So, the couple apps and launchers that used to give an unread counter for gmail, don't anymore.
Maybe try another 3rd party email client?

I tried a few 3rd party Apps. No go

"Enhanced Email" the app will allow a desktop widget that shows you how many unread emails you have.
You can also add the widget to your lock screen using Widgetlocker as the lockscreen app.
So I don't have to log into my phone to see how many unread emails I have. I simply press my power button and look at the lock screen..

Unread email notification

Is there a way to have the regular email client show u how many unread emails u have??? When I look at settings under launcher pro it only shows Gmail SMS and phone notifications. Would love to have an email notification =)

Regular email client does show notifications in the status bar at the top. Pull down and there is a count.
thanks. is there a way for that number to appear on the dock?
K-9 has that. It's also a better email client IMHO, especially if you use IMAP folders extensively.
hmm seems as if i dont receive emails on k-9.... thanks though.
launcher pro also gives you the option for notifications on the dock bar...

Gmail unread count

Ok I have the G2x and I'm coming from the G2. Neither has the ability to display on the gmail mail icon how many unread emails you have.
I downloaded gmail unread count but it only allows 1 account to be accounted for. I've used the thunderbolt and that one keeps track of all your email accounts on one icon, anyone know of an app that can do the same thing?

Launcher pro has that feature built in

Thanks, ill give it a shot. Had launcherpro on my g2, but ended up going back to stock due to random crashes. I still have no idea why this isnt a default ability, im sure im not the only person with several gmail accounts and want to know I have unread email on my home screen.

It can be used for Messaging, Missed Calls, as well as Gmail
It is a "widget icon" which replaced the stock icon
Works great
The sms unread count as well as the gmail unread count widgets only work with 1 account. What I want is a single widget to handle multiple accounts at 1 time. So if I have an unread email in 2 email accounts the widget would display a 2 on the icon.
I dont want a widget for each email account

Default email app unread notification

I am using the default email app with an Exchange server account. Is there any way to see a numerical indication of the number of unread messages in the inbox through an icon on the screen? I use the email widget that when pressed, takes me right to my Inbox. In the Samsung world this widget would show the number of unread messages in real time. Can't seem to replicate that with Google's default mail app. Anyway to accomplish this?

You can install a different launcher (like Nova) and it can show you unread count next to the icon.
Any way to accomplish this through DashClock?

Need help finding a good notification badge app!!!

Hi All,
My very first post on XDA forums, i have used these forums for great help in the past.
I'm a little stumped at the moment, i am using Dodol Launcher on my Nexus 5 with Lollipop OS, i'm about 90% happy with the whole launcher, just need to know if there's any good notification badge applications out there for Ebay? so when i get notifications in Ebay, the badge app icon with notification count comes up on the homescreen icon? An app which lets me select which apps show homescreen unread badge counts on the icon would be perfect!
Also, is there a good email app which supports multiple email accounts (Gmail, Yahoo etc) all in one, and will combine the unread messages as a badge app count on the homescreen icon?
Any suggestions would help, please don't mention another launcher as i'm quite happy with Dodol at thei stage.
Thanks!
The email app you need is my mail. I use it and it is superb. Takes all accounts plus you get an email account from them which just uses your phone no as a pass word so can only be used on your phone. Makes for really good names. As you put say your name then its just @MY.com. I've Gmail Hotmail etc on it and it takes nova notification badges

Email notification on All-In-One Carbon watchface

I have just bought the All-In-One Carbon watchface which is great and very customisable. You can show 5 apps along the bottom and click through directly to each of them. It also shows a notification e.g. on the Messages app if you have a waiting text. My problem is that I use Gmail rather than the native Email used by Samsung on my Note 3. I do get Gmail notifications on the watch in the normal way but I would like to see the notification on an app on the main watchface if possible. Would that mean I have to use Email rather than Gmail on my phone? If so, I'll leave it as I much prefer Gmail.
Thanks.
