Stick of Truth controller - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having trouble getting the Shield Controller to work at all while playing The Stick of Truth. All other games I've tried with it work fine. My DS3 controller works fine with it as well.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

[Q] PS3 Controller and transformer

Is it possible to pair a PS3 controller with the transformer?
AFAIK the ps3 controller are designed to pair over USB and then use bluetooth for transmission. So far there have not been many successful attempts at getting ps3 controllers to connect. The only solutions i'm aware of are either the Datel wireless classic controller for the Wii, or using a Wiimote with a classic or classic pro plugged in to it. I use the last option and it works well on my Evo.
Haven't tried it on the transformer yet as i got FOTA-bricked
has anyone tried the phonejoy?
I thought heard 3.1 brought usb support for this, may have been the a different controller...
Now if only psx4droid worked on tegra devices

But it only works wired right? Plus you gotta use the keyboard right?

I've plugged mine into the USB slot on the dock but nothing happens, did yours just start working?
EDIT: I turned off the PS3, restarted the TF and it works fine now, ignore this
both ps3 and xbox360 controllers work flawlessly with my TF.

3.0.7b does.
Do the wireless controllers work or do you require the dongle that the PC uses for 360 wireless controllers?

wired 360 controller
Is everyone getting both joysticks working on their PS3 controllers? I've tried 2 Sony PS3 controllers (Wired) and a Logitech Wireless with USB Dongle. All three controllers work great except when trying to map keys for emulators (N64, PSX4Droid) its not getting anything when I try to map directions to the right joystick.

did it just work for you? Seems for me and many others that the wireless with charge and play kit and standard wired controller does not work at all.
You that have connected the ps3 controller to your tf, is this with usb in dock, or usb female to female ? As i dont have the dock i can only use the female to female atm, but havnt tryed yet waiting for the female to female adapter

I guess this makes the laptop dock more appealing to me..
I believe the Wiimote can be used wirelessly.
Has anyone got right stick on PS3 controller working? Seems it only can see left one... Or it's not mapped properly Been trying to play some games via MyDesktop, and still can't find a way to enable mouselook... Not with USB mouse, nor with trackpad.

Here's what I have, and it works great. It's just the standard PS3 wireless controller, plugged into the Transformer keyboard dock through the USB cable. Though I haven't gotten two controllers to work at the same time yet for two player games, but I only played with it for a few minutes so far...

Q: Best controller for playing retro emulators on a TV?

So I got a shield for on the go emulators as well as to replace my hacked Wii to play games on my tv. I mainly play snes, nes and Genesis games. The classic controller on the Wii worked pretty good because of its responsive dpad and it didn't cause crazy blisters like some other ones. My question for the community is if you could recommend one that is easy to bind the keys and is good for what I'm going to be using it for. Thanks!

Simply because he wants it plugged into the TV to use it as a Game-Box (like a Wii, an Ouya, etc), and wants a controller to sit back on the couch with for some big-screen Retro action. Not exactly great to have an HDMI cord hanging out of the back of your controller while you try to use it to play on the big screen.
However, I'll mirror the PS3 wireless controllers (mebbe PS4 too, but I have yet to try those so I can't comment). If you can't swing a BT controller then you can get a USB-OTG adaptor for the micro USB connector and plug an Xbox360 controller into that, works pretty well on my tablets and Ouya. However, wireless... PS3 sixaxis wireless controllers are generally the best, but there are some more than decent ones on the market otherwise.

Sixaxis works on the Tab4, are you trying to do it by USB or Bluetooth?
EDIT: Whoops. Wrong thread.

Just Moga Pro

Edit*
Actually from what I know all of the Moga besides the Pocket one should work. As long as it has the Mode B.
Does anyone know how to put the playpad pro controller into player no 2? When i connect two controllers with bluetooth they both control player 1. The manual doesnt say how to switch to player two, nor could i find anything about it online.

i havent tested two controllers on the nvdia shield tablet but i had the same issue on my FireTV, you have to purchase an official controller so it can be read as the second controller correctly.

I'm using the Moga Pocket, it works well. Tested on Dead Trigger 2 and various racing games, will test on Trine 2, and other Nvidia Controller enhanced games later when I get off work.
I'm sorry but I have to disagree. OUYA controller works just fine; confirmed by me
It just doesn't work out of the box, you have to have root and the attached file to the keylayouts folder. Don't forget to change permissions to rw-r--r--
The only problem is that there is no start button. May be someone can manipulate the file into making the big U button press start.
I've given in an ordered the Nvidia controller.
OK been using sixaxis app and ps3 controller with some success, although come across some issues. Half Life 2 seems to work but its a bit odd. The D pad works fine to select in the main menu but not in the sub menus, also the other problem is there appears to be no way of changing weapons which is an issue after picking up a gun there's no way of getting through wood blocking door ways. Anyone got a fix?

Also tried it with the otg cable with the same result.

I'd like to be able to use the Shield Portable as a controller. =)

I stand corrected, thank you ahmadshawki.
1.) Root Device, Install Root Explorer
2.) Download Vendor_2836_Product_0001.kl
3.) place Vendor_2836_Product_0001.kl in /system/usr/keylayout/ in Nvidia Shield
4.) set permissions on kl to rw-r--r--
5.) Reboot Shield Tablet, needed for kl file to take affect.
6.) Put Ouya Controller in pair mode and pair with tablet
7.) Done
The Nyko playpad portable worked fine me also...what exactly do I need for my tablet to work with my wired x box 360 controller to work?

should just be an otg cable.
I am using the Nyko Playpad Pro
I purchased this controller from Tmart, a ChiCom, and made sure it was shipping from one of their US warehouses. Otherwise, it will take 4 to 12 weeks for delivery, due to customs. It arrived in under a week.
It works great with an OTG cable. I played Bard's Tale from start to finish with this controller, mirroring the screen on my TV. It's got a 9 foot long cable or so. My only real complaint with it is that the headphone jack in the bottom is non-functional, they even made it too small to insert a headphone jack into. Otherwise, it works just fine. All the buttons function well with solid feedback, none of them are mushy. The large X button in the center functions as the home button and the right stick controls a mouse when you are at your homescreen. I'd prefer the left stick control the mouse but I can live with the right stick doing it.

Gamestream lags like hell when connected to BT controller

Hey,
recently i bought an ipega 9023 bt conroller, was so excited to gamestream with it however i encountered a problem. I have a Tenda W316R router which i know it isnt anything extraordinary, but when i tried to stream via limelight at 1080p,60FPS without controller it was performing really good.
Now here is that problem, when i pair ipega with shield the stream becomes completele unplayable and that is even for 720p 30 fps and about 5mbit bandwidth. When i tried nvidia gamestream it wasnt that bad but still awful.
If i disconnect controller during session then problem dissapears.
Now im trying to figure out if the problem is caused by ipega or the router.
Any ideas pls?
Thanks in advance!
I had major input lag with my Moga Pro on this tablet, I picked up the Shield controller though and it fixed all my issues, it works and feels so much better then all of the other controllers as well.
Yah im ecpoeriencing the same problem with a ps3 controller, dont get me wrong i defimitely would love the shield controller, because i do have the shield portable and still love it, but hopefully w get some kind of fix

Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge. Found a Working controller!

Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge controller found without root......
For all those people who are having a hard time finding a working controller for tge Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge..
I have a bunch of 3rd Party controllers laying around the house, one was a PC XBOX shaped controller made for lower grade games and that didn't seemed to work, tried the cord with PS3 controller and was not successful pulled pulled out PS4 Controller as I have read Previous threads they didn't seem to work and wanted to see for myself, then I tried the Xbox 360 controller and that didn't work after all, I haven't tried an Xbox one controller yet but will do when I get my hands on one......
Then I remembered there was a Logitech Wireless controller somewhere, I was looking all over the place for it......
Then my Dad came out with it and he said he was waiting for the right time to tell me, he knew where it was and was trying to find some leverage over me, I finally got it stuck it in my Samsung OTG and vwalah it bloody works, but only with some games.
Controller name: Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710
Supported Games:
Minecraft
Modern Combat
Neon Shadow
Will add more in the future or if someone has this controller they could add supported games and I'll give them a try.
you talking about wireless controllers? because the wired xbox one controller is working fine here with moonlight gamestream. didn't try it with mobile games tho.
I use a Moga controller in HID mode. I like it for my lego games.
