As many of you will know, i've been doing lots of work lately on porting the Desire ROM to the Nexus One which has, er, been interesting. One of the implications of this is that i've been messing around with the Camera application to get it to work properly on non-Desire kernels. I now have it 100% working on my Desire ROM, so I thought i'd have a quick look to see if it was feasible to port it to regular Nexus One builds (such as my MCR 2.1 ROM) build.
To cut a long story short, it works!
I have added an option to the MCR r15 kitchen and the CM 5.0.7.1 kitchen to include the Desire Camera application. Update zips are also available below for MCR r15, CM 5.0.7.1 and Enomther 1.8.1. Do NOT use these on any ROM other than the ones they are designed for!
AFAIK all the features are working as desired (sic), and i'm continuing to work on a couple of requested features such as saving to the standard /DCIM/Camera directory. The Desire Camera app REPLACES the standard one.
Details on how to support my work should you wish to do so (any contributions are gratefully received) are available on the download page.
Enjoy!

Upgrade instructions
If upgrading from a previous Desire Camera release, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND reinstalling your chosen base ROM again, as some previously altered files (e.g. the Gallery APK) are no longer modified.
Changelog
r2
No longer requires a patched framework.jar (ROM chefs, include com.htc.framework.jar in your bootclasspath BEFORE framework.jar)
No longer requires a patched Gallery3D
Now using Enomther's slimmed HTC resources apk (thanks!)
Camcorder icon is now removed (now showing Camera icon only, until I fix the Camcorder link)

Much appreciated.
Unfortunately the mods made me remove my MoDaCo AdFree / Plus links from my sig!
P
This will be a great addition to all the other great mods, can't wait for the cm port. Thank you so much!
Edit: Works Great On CM 5.0.5.3...Thanks again!
Share problem fixed (or rather 'worked around')!
P
Hey Paul, the camera app is great, however I was wondering because I love to switch my ROM's like underwear (for me that means daily you computer mongers) is there a possibility we can get copy/paste working off the desire rom for standard android, if it is even possible without Rosie.
-Charlie
Great Work Paul, Glad to see you have been able to port this over. I will definitely flash this once it is available for the cyanogen ROM. Hope you have success porting over other sense applications from the desire ROM.
Paul, this is great....can't wait to see it in action on the Cyanogen Roms! Will donate too once working!
@Turets
AWESOME
As always, Great Work Paul!
Patiently Waiting for CM Version!
I now have a CM 5.0.5.3 build!
P
Have you posted it up anywhere?
Not yet, i'm currently testing. I'll post in this topic when it's ready. I'll be posting it in the 5.0.5.3 kitchen at MoDaCo and as an update zip for existing 5.0.5.3 users.
P
waiting patiently for cyan ROM version.....
Awesome Paul, this kind of stuff is why I bought a modaco ad free account!
Ok, well with a new release of the rom, comes a new thread. However, I will not be making a new thread for each one. Instead I will be listing the release date, and a link for that release below. Soon I will post the the release guidelines that I've been trying to figure out, and I just about have the plans for the direction of Droid Concepts all figured out. So be on the lookout for that.

Install Order
==================================================
> ROM
> Google Apps
> Optional Apps/Kernel
> REBOOT! BEFORE CONTINUING TO FLASHING THEMED MARKET!
> Themed Market
Explanation if you care to read:
When you install the ROM it will wipe your /system and kernel from the phone so if you install Google Apps or the kernel first you will lose it when you install the ROM. So because of this the ROM must be first. Google Apps is listed as second because you need them if you regular release type of android build, without them you will not have the market to download and install apps, so because it is a 'must' it is listed as second. The kernel/Optional Apps is an addition, and therefore is listed last, so please follow this order when installing any Droid Concepts ROM.
Thank You..

If you would like to follow the progress of the Droid Concepts Settings App
then you follow it on GitHub at the link below. The reason I am
open sourcing this app so early is so that everyone can see that I am
building this from the ground up, and not simply using 'CMParts' and
re-doing it. You will be able to follow all the steps in the project so
there will be no question of whether or not it is 'CMParts' based.

This is not CM based, for anyone wondering, This is AOSP based off of Froyo, You may wonder why This is not GB, well think about all the issues with GB on the Motorola Droid 1, there are quite a bit, I tired GB and it just doesn't run smooth. So with that I have chosen to keep the Droid at the Froyo Android branch. Motorola didn't skip updating the Droid for any reason other than this, it simply doesn't run GB like it should.. Think about it, they started the Droid at 2.0, updated it to 2.1, then 2.2, the Droid had more updates than most devices have, so I don't believe they did it simply to push people into getting a newer model. They did it because it just ran the best on the given device with the hardware.
So I'm asking you to give it a try, see what you think, This ROM has been out for a long time, and I have been doing Android ROMs for over well over a year. I am new to the XDA community, but this is defiantly a top quality ROM with a stellar support group!
If you have any questions please post them below, or PM me, message me on Twitter @DroidConcepts, or drop me an email at woodyman AT droidconcepts DOT COM
It would be sweet if someone could get the sense working on the droid. I don't know if it could happen but I had htc and I liked it
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
Used it and it seemed like a great rom but alas, it has its problems
- No lockscreen at all
- Home button vibrates but doesn't do anything
-Stock theme makes it very hard to see if 3g is on
- Theme picker thing couldn't find any downloaded themes
Not trying to seem rude with this but the first 2 issues you pointed out are false, the 3rd, is correct, and I will get the fix posted, the reason being that you can change the bar color via Droid Concepts Settings, the default is white, but the theme is still in progress, with the next release the theme will be that of stock Android 2.2, froyo, theme options haven't been posted here yet, but I will ask that they are, being that this ROM has gotten the most support at DroidForums, but I will see that it also gets posted here for you all to see without forum jumping.
The Theme picker app doesn't work for this ROM that is a feature in GingerBread and CM, something I have not implemented in the DC Froyo ROM. So the only way to change the theme is the built in options or by flashing a zip over the ROM, and I will get those links posted here, sorry for the confusion, and thank you for the feedback.

No way to port this, really. The Droid and Milestone have the same hardware, but the software is COMPLETELY different. The Droid has an unlocked bootloader, and the Milestone does not. Trying to flash a Droid ROM on the Milestone will soft brick your phone.
yes does not work on the milestone, sorry about that man, If I had one to test on then I may be able to support it, but being that I don't it's hard to support more devices, sorry.. I don't know anything about the Milestone or its hardware or software, so I can't be of more help..
But thanks for checking it out

Hi guys
I've seen this on the Galaxy Nexus forum, and I wanted to "port" it to our HTC Sensation
After a few hours of work and tests, the .zip is finally here
Don't forget that the original work is from tommrazek01 and doomed151 ! So don't forget to thank them -> HERE <- !
I also take the patched version of Camera and Gallery from Jiggs82 and the Keyboard from Ultrakiller So don't forget to thank them -> HERE <- and -> HERE <-
I hadn't just take some files from the devs, I also modify some things to make it work better (remember that the Android Keyboard from Ultrakiller can't work (FC) if you remove the old Keyboard, it's fixed here !)
It's just a simple .zip, that you flash from recovery
Features :
- Fully working Android 4.2 Keyboard, independant from the old who is removed during the installation, without FC:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- Fully working Camera (8Mpx, 1080p recording, if your ROM support it)!
- Photosphere is working!
- New gallery app:
- New clock app:
- New timer (included in clock app):
- New stopwatch (also included in clock app):
- There is also the new Gmail app, who had Pinch-to-zoom in it !
- The new Play Store.
- The new Google Ears (Google equivalent for Soundhound).
- The new launcher.
- All the sounds (UI, ringtones, notifications...) from Jelly Bean 4.2 are included !
- The brand new wallpapers too (Long clic on desktop -> select "Launcher Wallpaper")
- The new lockscreen clock font
Installation :
It's a simple .zip
You just need to put it on your SD card, flash it with your recovery and reboot, THAT'S ALL !
You don't need to wipe cache or Dalvik-cache before or after the flash, enable something in the ROM after the flash or anything else, it's just that simple
Changelog :
v1.0: Initial release
Download :
- Mediafire: http://www.mediafire.com/?o2oypjyatv9dmnd
- 4shared: http://www.4shared.com/zip/MTTbsku5/Android_42_TransformPack_Pyram.html
Please do not mirror my work...
If you like, enjoyed my work, don't forget to hit the THANK button, it's simple, fast, free and it can make my day
This is great thanks, makes my life much easier haha. Downloading now will tell you how it goes.
Edit: its working all great!! Love it thanks!
Sent from my HTC Sensation CM10 using XDA Premium HD app
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
is it working perfectly......????
Yes
Only tested on CyanogenMod 10...
But during the instalation, the script make a backup of your original Keyboard, Camera and clock app, the backup is made on your SD card, so if you are having a single problem you can easily replace the flashed apps with the backuped one
And if you are very scary, Nandroid backups are made for that...
Sent from my HTC Sensation powered by CyanogenMod 10.
Could you also make an inverted version of these apps? Thanks!
I was looking for something exactly like this... This would help a lot... Am downloading and will test right away....
thanks for doing this for us....
Cheers, Hari

Hello,

- GMail, Play Store and Clock work too.
- Google Ears does not seem to work, I can't see any new widget.. Have I missed something ?

On ViperS and every Sense ROM not all the things can work... Like the Lockscreen font because for example Sense don't use the same directory for his fonts !
Remember that this apps are AOSP based and use it on an non-AOSP ROM (such as Sense or official MIUI which is Sense based) can result in a FC...

All 4.2 Apps with Flashable ZIPs
OK i would like to try to help some people who might have questions or concerns about adding these 4.2 apps to their current ROM.
I would like to refer everyone to this great thread right here:
[UPDATED NOV6]Android 4.2 GAPPS GWALLET Launcher + Wallpapers + Sounds Mega Thread
This is where I have been getting downloads for various 4.2 Apps.
However, certain things you all should know before blindly flashing:
4.2 Launcher - will only work with AOSP Jelly Bean ROMs.
4.2 Desk Clock - will only work with AOSP Jelly Bean ROMs
4.2 Lockscreen Font - will only work with AOSP JB ROMs (because of the AOSP JB Lockscreen)
4.2 Cam/Gallery - will work on any ROM but will work best with AOSP JB (certain features are broken on other ROMs), FFC recording seems to be broken (cause FC), but works for photo.
4.2 Google Ears - not working on ViperS v1.3.5 so most likely won't work unless you have an AOSP JB ROM.
All other apps should work fine on Sense 3.6 and Sense 4+ ROMs, however, some APKs might require being placed in the system/app folder to fully work. I have applied various different 4.2 Camera's in an attempt to find the best one. The best on so far comes from the link i provided above. I have not flashed this "MOD" though because I already have the files in place...but is this even a "Mod"? Seems more like just upgraded APKs... but i digress.
I am currently running ViperS 1.3.5 (Sense 4.1) and here's a list of applications and how they behaved:
4.2 GMail - works perfectly, but must be placed in System/App to function properly.
4.2 System Sounds - replace in system/media and you will have Nexus 4 sounds.
4.2 Wallpapers - pretty self explanatory, put on SD card and view thru Gallery app.
4.2 Google Wallet - works fine for me, but i added it to system/app just to ensure it would work.
4.2 Google Music - works great for me, I installed to make sure it worked and it did (uninstalled since i prefer Sense music player).
4.2 Play Store - (v3.9.17) worked fine through regular update method. Also works in system/app.
4.2 Google Ears - replaced the old one in system/app and still works the same.
The reason I posted the link above for everyone is because it has a full comprehensive One-by-One list of all the 4.2 apps along with flashable ZIPs for each and some modded versions as well. There is an Emoji keyboard, which worked for me, but I really have no idea how to use it, so I removed it. The camera they posted has working Photosphere with Sphereview (this allows you to view your 3D files in a 3D-type environment). The reason we did not have this feature before was because we were missing a specific app from the ZIP which must be present for it to work. It also has 1080p recording enabled for the video player as well. Not sure about the one included in the OP's "MOD" package, but for those who want the full Photosphere effect, download the 4.2 Camera from the linked post above, or check the quote below:

Android 4.2 Camera:
Here is my latest flashable zip.
It contains all the files provided by dmmarck.
GalleryGoogle.apk [The actual Camera and Gallery]
GmsCore.apk [Sphereview]
libjni_filtershow_filters.so [PhotoEditing in Gallery]
libjni_mosaic.so [Panorama Photo]
linlightcycle.so [Photosphere]
The GalleryGoogle.apk is the modded one from androidpolice.
That make the working/not working list look like this:
1. Panorama.
2. Photosphere. (requires gyroscope?)
3. Photo editing.
4. Sphereview.
5. All ordinary camera/video functions.
6. Should work on ALL phones.
For gallery to not FC when rendering Sphere shots, change your system language to English (United States).
This will also make Sphereview work!

Hope that this helps people. A lot of these 4.2 apps are just easy upgrades to a lot of apps we currently have, but some do require AOSP-based ROMs (JB only) to work. I have installed a lot of these myself and have been very pleased with the new 4.2 apps, so i thought I'd share my findings and try to assist others with directing you to the best downloads (most features working).
EDIT:
Google Ears from 4.2 does not work. It shows up on widget list but does not work. Reverted back to the old version, which works fine.

Hope that this helps people. A lot of these 4.2 apps are just easy upgrades to a lot of apps we currently have, but some do require AOSP-based ROMs (JB only) to work. I have installed a lot of these myself and have been very pleased with the new 4.2 apps, so i thought I'd share my findings and try to assist others with directing you to the best downloads (most features working).
EDIT:
Google Ears from 4.2 does not work. It shows up on widget list but does not work. Reverted back to the old version, which works fine.

The only thing my zip doesn't have compared to the zip you are talking about is Google wallet !
Everything is woking perfectly on AOSP with my zip !
I included all the library needed for the apps to work ! So Camera app is fully working (Photosphere, 1080p etc.) !
As I said in my previous post if some apps doesn't work on Sense or any non-AOSP ROMs it's because all apps are AOSP based ! So there is some compatibility problems.
And I don't know why people who are using Sense wants this system apps... Sense already have all these function except photosphere ! The new clock app is great because it has a built-in Timer and stopwatch, so it's better than the 4.1 AOSP clock app but the Sense one already have it...
Google ears is working fine for me

Similarly to the Note 2 Framework where I created an FAQ, I will create one for the SF for Note 3.
What does "SF" mean?
SF means "Simplistic Framework", and in this FAQ it will be called this.
I flashed SF and get a bootloop even if it is a compatible ROM, why?
There seem to be 2 Main reasons for this.
1) Problems with other Mods
-> Sometimes it helps Flashing SF first.
I have Flashed this but I dont see an app to set anything.
The Zip you download is simply the framework which inserts the tweak base into the system.
you need either the limited Control app (free; in OP of SF Main Thread) or
the Simplistic Control app from either the Play Store or via Paypal (PayPal might need some time as seen on the top of the question list)
I installed the App from Play Store, but nothing I set works.
Same Situation like above. SF is a 2-Part System, meaning you need the ZIP from SF Starting Post AND the App.
#4 Can you make it work on x?
As of now, no. Legend said he won't support other devices instead of the International SM-N905 because
Hi, I said this quite a few times, I won't/can't make a version for any device that I don't actually own.

This belongs in the general section, like the Note 2 FAQ SF thread. This is, as of this writing, in the original development section.

okay thx for info. I thought It fits next to the SF Thread so ppl dont have to look for it.
The Moto G4 Play is a great implementation of stock Android and won't require any custom AOSP ROM unless you need more features. But I find the ROM completely hopeless and I have updated to CM13 but it was way too buggy for me compared to the stock ROM.
Here is a ZIP of apps which are not flashable i.e install all of them as normal apps.
It's like a version of Cyanogen Apps( C-APPS)but my version is called SN-APPS
Here is what is included in SN-APPS ZIP ( all are material design :highfive: )
AOSP Browser
AOSP Camera
AOSP Messaging
AOSP Battery Meter
AOSP Voice Recorder
AOSP Weather
AOSP Gallery
AOSP Terminal Emulator
AOSP Music Player
AOSP Calculator
AOSP Calendar
AOSP Audio FX
AOSP Email
Google Pixel Live Wallpapers
Movie Creator
Install each app normally or convert into system app. And I forgot to tell ,I tested each one of them myself and all of them work perfectly. Plus this is v1 beta1. v1 beta2 will be introduced later with a torch app and extra apps:victory:.
Mirroring is strictly prohibited. And don't even bother asking me to edit the file, I will not allow that.
Here is the download link for v1 beta1:
