i rooted my att model but it had to be bruteforced is that normal? i ran root checker afterwards and it shows i have root access
Just wanted to make sure I did it properly
run stump again and it will tell you if its rooted or not
I can't speak exactly for the AT&T variant, but running stump root on my Verizon G3 the other day it gave me the exact same issue...and seems to have worked out fine on my end ultimately. You can read my post on page 25 of that thread detailing my exact experience if you're curious!
I used stump, and it had to brute force my phone. I was a bit confused, since I thought it supported the AT&T G3, but it worked.

Hey there, so here's the issue:
I have wanted root on my at&t 4g Moto G since day one, but found that the bootloader was unlockable. Well that's fine, I managed to obtain root with the tools KingoRoot and KingRoot (Kingo can't work by itself, i tried to update su binary with SuperSU and it made it freak out, it now no longer works). But now what happens is when I try to screencapture, it wont work, I can't uninstall system apps, BusyBox won't install, but I can run root checker with a positive result, and all root apps i try tell me they have root access. Is this a case of ignorance on my part, or is there a step i'm missing. If there's a script you run, or an app you install, throw me a line here, i'm loosing my mind.
Here's the relavent info for the phone if you would happen to need it:
Model #- Moto G (Duh)
Kernel Version- 3.4.42-gd8f2775 [email protected] fri sep 5 20:49:01 CDT 2014
Carrier- at&t
System Version- 21.12.63.peregrine_att.att.en.US att
Android Version- 4.4.4
Ask me anything else ya want.:fingers-crossed:
I'll just say this... King Root or whatever they call it nowadays, is a very sketchy application and has a poor history. I suggest staying far away from it.
I suggest you flash stock firmware and call it a day and if you must have Root, you may need to buy a different device.

AFAIK, there are no exploits for the AT&T model.
A side note: If you live in a area that has Boost Mobile (Sprint) coverage, you can pick up a Moto G (2013) for $45 or a Moto E LTE (2015) for $60 new, and both are bl unlockable.

Lg stylo H634
I have the Lg stylo h634 through Cricket. After reading another thread I used Kingroot to root my phone. However I decided I wanted to removed the root so I can upgrade to Marshmallow. So I purchased Supersu to get rid of kIngroot. My phone is now stuck in bootloop. At this point I don't care what ROM I have, I just need my phone back. Any suggestions, help or even a "I'm screwed buy a new phone" statement would a least let me move on. I have been at this for about a week now.
Thank you

Bring it to where you got it and play dumb. Don't mention root or anything of the sort. As far as they're concerned you don't know jack about phones. Just tell them it froze and you had to pull the battery to reset it but now it wont turn on.
My Cricket Wireless LG G Stylo is also briked
I rooted my Cricket Wireless LG G Stylo (H634) with Kingroot then I used Super sume to covert to SuperSU instead of Kingroots after I used the Super sume app and updated binaries the phone restarted and and is stuck on the LG logo. Boost and Metro has flash files all over the web TOT and KDZ files we need flash files for the Cricket Wireless LG G Stylo if anyone can post them online thank you in advance.

While I have found tons of tutorials for rooting various models of the s5, I haven't found mine yet. Here's the details:
Galaxy s5
model: SC-04F
carrier: NTT Docomo (Japan)
android 5.0 Lollipop
kernel version: 3.4.0-5605451
KNOX version: 2.3
Admittedly I am in over my head. It's my first time attempting a root and this model seems to be a tricky one. In my search I found a few automated solutions for the SC-04F model of gs5, but they were all meant for android 4.4.2. I decided to give it a try despite this difference (not a good idea, I'm sure). This method revolved around flashing with Oden using a CF-Auto Root file. Oden flashed the device, restarted it and gave me the green "passed" notification. After flashing I used Root Checker to verify, and sure enough it was rooted.
So far so good, but then I opened SuperSu (which installed as part of the automated flash) and it needed to update binaries. I tried the "normal" installation method, which failed, and then did some reading that suggested updating the SuperSu app from the Play Store. It did need an update, so I updated. This changed nothing. Just out of curiosity I check Root Checker again, and all the sudden I was no longer correctly rooted.
I have tried repeating the flash process from the beginning to no success. I haven't been able to root it since. Nor have I been able to use SuperSu to "Full Unroot" the device. I would like to have one or the other; establish root or completely unroot. I seem to be somewhere in the middle and it's very frustrating.
Any pointers?

Thanks! will do.
I've managed to root my Samsung TabPro w TowelRoot w/o tripping KNOX, and subsequently changed the ROM to a different/later stock version and successfully re-rooted after that. I've rooted a simpler pre-KNOX Samsung w ODIN and TWRP. Pretty easy to follow the directions for both. BUT, for rooting my low-end LG Leon running 5.1.1, I haven't found any attractive options. Looking at KingRoot convinced me that I do NOT want to go that route. All that to say that I'm no expert on rooting, but can research things and follow directions.
I've really appreciated the value of a rooted device with respect to getting rid of unwanted built-in apps, or at least keeping them from nagging me to update them. I'd like to have the same options with my LG Leon, but am NOT finding any credible approaches for obtaining root.
Any suggestions? I understand that a prior exploit that worked w 5.0.2 was patched, and so can't be used w 5.1.1. But, that was true for Samsung, and swapping out the kernel for an older, vulnerable one allowed me to root my TabPro w TowelRoot, and then restore the latest kernel w/o losing root. Might something like that be possible with my LG? I don't know enough to know how to put together something that could do that, only enough to be curious enough to ask if it could be done.
Just wondering. I'd really like to find a way to root this phone. Any suggestions? Thanks.
OK. I KEPT looking and, lo and behold, to my surprise, the solution was right here in the forum. It involves NO KingRoot or other weirdness, and it WORKED first shot. So, if you've got a T-Mobile LG Leon (or some other LG models), hop over to to the thread titled: "[GUIDE] how to root US LG G Stylo on 5.1.1 and unbrick updated on 9/2/2015" and check it out. It was stunningly simple, especially after rooting my Samsung TabPro TM-325.
Again, I'm running 5.1.1, not an earlier version.
I bought an unlocked Galaxy J3 (SM-J320A) and i badly want to root it. The 320A is supposedly AT&T, but there's no bloatware or anything on it. The phone doesn't say AT&T anywhere. I'm using it with TracFone. If anyone knows how to root it, please post. By the way, I'm on Marshmallow 6.0.1.
Any news about this? I have the same problem.
According to a post i found on twitter by srsroot, their app is supposed to be able to root this phone (J320A). I tried it and it says rooting complete but the phone isn't rooted.
