Ive been thru as many threads and tools as i can find to root and unlock the bootloader and flash a cmwr on too this verizon xt926m
I think I finally got the tr.apk to root it but I tried to rename a system file to .bak and the task failed.

Hi everyone,
i have been searching for 2 weeks how to root this phone, but no luck yet. I am saying no luck for a proper way to do it , because you can do it with the avant method, or by using the CF method which uses the SM-G386T firmware, and for reading lots of forums, i know it works, but the problem is if i ever want to update later, i would not be able to do so. I already have the firmware for my phone, G386WVLU1ANJ1, running android 4.4.2 KITKAT, and i have extracted the recovery.img from the firmware file. I am searching how to unlock the bootloader so i can apply whatever rooting method i want. Since i am new to this, i need some information. If i ever want to use the CF-Auto-Root method using the SM-G368T model, can i go back to stock phone whenever needed by flashing recovery image from the SM-G386W ?. If not, is there any other method i can use, preferably one that doesn't trip my KNOX flag to 0x01. Until now i have tried 2 methods, Towelroot and Z4root, which didn't work at all. The main reason i want to root is i want to get rid of the bloatware installed by default on my phone and gain control of my phone without any restrictions, and customizing it.
Please need help.
Thank you very much
P.S: can anyone recommend some reading about rooting android phones?

Update 2015/06/28: i finally did manage to root it properly with iRoot.
Thanks for nothing !!!
Again, i am sorry, but it p***es me off !!

I also own one of these phones and would like to root the phone to get rid of bloat ware and make the phone run smoother. I would appreciate if you could give a quick run down on how you managed your root. Greatly appreciated.

Hello today i come to you with the dm-vertify bootloop issue. I got stuck in this dilemma by attempting to SIM unlock to be able to use my Sprint Variant on T-Mobile and my stupid self was messing with settings i should have resulting in this. After research i have found that i need to flash with Odin using the stock Firmware firmware but i cant seem to find the exact firmware i need to un-brick my phone.
In the system recovery it lists "LMY47X.G925PVPU3BOL1" as the version of firmware my phone is currently running on. If anyone could help me Locate the appropriate download that would be much appreciated!

You wouldn't mind sharing me your EFS, I went into deeper crap with an error saying device does not have drk please install drk first and the only way to bypass it is to root which I don't want to keep. Would really appreciate it if you could help me out :good:

Yes I have tried the updated kingroot with very little success i managed a very temp root lasted long enough to check root 2 times and other times it simply reset my phone ..... I was considering flashing a new nand but it was my understanding root must be achieved in order to flash a new nand or at lease a longer lasting temp root .... Any other suggestion ill try about anything to achieve root at this point.... Any other info on my device needed ?? I know software info .... Build info .... Security info ect
Correction i just tried with 5.0 it got to 55% said cannot root im waiting for an update along with 126 others lol guess this ones a pain lol
new information need a suggestion please
As of today i guess kingroot was updated my lgl51al is gaining root access but only temporary root. As i reasearched i found that my system is write protected and no rom is available for my lg treasure any suggestion on a perma root without pc but temp root access

As I said there is very little information for your device, have you tried installing superuser apk from playstore after rooting to see if it helps
I tried a few outdated methods not for this version and it just bricks the phone or doesn't work. Is there a working root method for this version? Can I flash to a previous version, root and upgrade? I'm new to the forum but somewhat experienced with rooting/flashing. Thanks for any help you can give.

This should work for you since you're running MM (6.0.1) - https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s7/how-to/root-files-t-mobile-s7-t3488067
If you upgrade to Nougat though, this won't work.
EDIT: Btw, don't try putting TWRP on unless you are able to unlock your bootloader. I'm pretty sure it will flag your KNOX bit too or you might run into a situation that I'm in with DRK errors/IMEI being gone (due to issue with EFS partition). Basically my phone can't be used as a phone anymore.
So I've been scouring the threads on this phone to see if someone has finally found a way to root the device, but from what I can tell no one has been successful. It's a pretty obscure device so not much effort is put into it, but it would be great if someone had actually found a way. Flashing the cmf auto root file on ODIN always fails. I had heard of a method where there was a way to root earlier firmware versions, but stocking flash firmware to try and downgrade never works on ODIN either.
The best I've managed to do is unlock the sim card. I had heard of some exploit with using MAGISK on a locked bootloader, but it seemed to have failed as well. Is there any possible method to finally gain root access, or am I still up ****'s creek and stuck with a phone that's locked down like fort knox?
Any help would be tremendously appreciated.
