Hi Guys, what is the most stable overclocking kernel for the Asus TF 101
I have been using netformer with Prime 1.5 and have not had a single issue. Clocked at 1.6 with set CPU on interactive mode and a screen-off profile to down clock to 500 mhz.
Clemsyn-Blades.. just try the kernels out yourself and figure out yourself. It varies between devices.

Same here. Had a couple random reboots at 1.6 but all is well at 1.4.
I have a question with the tegrak overclock settings for kh1
TEGRAK OC SETTINGS:
level 0= 1.3 no voltage changes IM CURRENTLY ON 1.6 -1385 - 1165
level 1= 800 - 1075 - 1050
level 2= 400 - 1000 - 1000
level 3= 200 -900 - 980
level 4= 100 - 850 - 950
governor must always remain ONDEMAND!!!!
are u saying to change Max CPU to 1.3 ghz on tegrak and then apply the voltages for level 0-4...How are u on 1.6 if the max is 1.3 on tegrak?...my level 0 is currently at 1000 1325 and 1100.all the other voltages are same as what you have above.....do i need to change it to (1385 1165 1100) or is it (1000 1385 1165) to get it 1.3ghz or is that 1.6 ghz?? Is there a significant difference in performance and battery life getting it at 1.3ghz? sorry i am just confused..thanks.
The limit is 1.3 ghz for tegrak free

True, on the pop up menu it only goes to 1.3. You have to go to Optimization and change the settings there. Once in Optimization, go to cpu level 0 and make your changes.
I believe dsexton is saying he recomends a 1.3 but you can go up to 1.6. He's said going higher than 1.6 will impact battery life.

My phone is stable at 1.4 and dsexton's under-volting for the lower speeds. Beyond 1.4 I start running into problems.
How do you guys overclock... I literally try to go to 1.2 ghz on the paid version and it kicks me out without changin

I have read several times that we do not have a kernel to support overclocking. If that has changed - hopefully somebody will clarify. If you mean using Tegrak Overclock - you can use it to undervolt.

With tegrak paid you can OC the phone as well as UV it. I haven't in a while but the option is there with that app.

Just OC'd to 1.5 using D's values from the above post. Left the governor as ondemand. Got 4348 on quad using noop with MIUI RC3fixed. So yeah it still works. Be warned it is not stable. Phone locked up as soon as I put it to sleep. To be safe stick with 1.3 or less by choosing CPU max in tegrak. If you want to play with higher frequencies make sure Set on Boot is NOT checked. Fun to playu with but really not needed.

What does "WITH +" and "WITHOUT +" mean?
Hi guys,
So sorry if there's been threads like this before, but I currently own a stock TF700 on 4.2.1 and like many others, have been disappointed with the performance of the stock rom. I've heard many good things about installing a custom rom, which is why I want to install CROMi-X 4.7. The problem is I literally have no idea where to start lol. If anyone could just point me in the right direction on how to root, unlock, and install CROMi-X 4.7 or provide me with a step by step guide, it'd be much appreciated!

I managed to unlock my device, but I'm having trouble rooting it. I tried using motochopper but it keeps getting stuck at "daemon started successfully" and I can't seem to find the newest drivers for Infinity on Asus's website. Can anyone give me the link? Or tell me another way to root my device?

Before any action, read 10 times tbe "how to install cromi-x" and check every step, every word.
First words are about prerequisites : version of your current stock rom and of your current bootloader. You can find them in your android parameters in last screen "about the tab". Maybe you can put here a screenshot of that screen here.

So I managed to install cromi-x and I have to say I'm pleased with the performance. Quick question tho, if I wanted to change the kernel to a different one, what would be the easiest way to do so. Also anyone have any recommendations on which kernel is the best in terms of speed and performance?

Some experts on this website said that you can just install a new kernel on top of your existing one without any wipe. However, I always wipe dalvik and cache before installing a new kernel on my device. So far with this method, I don't have any problem and they seem to work fine for me... The easiest way to install a new kernel is probably using Kernel Installer by Sbdags from his Cromi X post. I like Hund's kernel for the speed and performance. However, some users complain about heat generated by this kernel. If you use Hund's kernel, you should UV your CPU voltages to reduce heat.

Use my kernel installer in the CROMi-X thread post 2 Thanks LMK
The reason I recommend this is that each kernel has its own set of modules, cpu scripts and apps in some cases so if you flash and jump from one kernel to another you could end up with a mismatch of kernel files resulting in an unclean and unbootable system.
My kernel installer takes care of that for you As LMK says Hunds is probably the fastest but does create more heat, _that v4 is the most stable and max's is smooth but still beta.

What do you mean by UV your CPU voltages? How do we go about doing this if we want to try out hunds kernel again? Thanks lmk for the input. Really does help.
Also what are the exact steps in using the kernel installer? Do we have to disable and enable fsyce etc... Or just run the installer and it will give us the option to just run the different kernels do the other modifications automatically?

Just run the installer and it will do the rest. Full aroma like the Rom If you choose hunds it will also auto install his tweaking app which lets you undervolt and overclock.

Not sure yet. It doesn't get that hot. I might try dropping 50mv but tbh if you are OC'ing with hunds you probably need more mv. Why are you worried about battery or heat?

I'm interested in the answer of his question because i believe that a higher cpu speed would mean a shorten lifespan of the tab. Am i wrong ?

Well the tab itself uses 1700 on performance mode. I think you'll be ok up to 1800 but I wouldn't want to be quoted saying that Any time you OC you will get more heat and that is what will kill your CPU/GPU ultimately. I don't think you can UV enough to offset the extra heat. In my testing it was still under the safe zone that I term 60 degrees but it will get 'warm' with extended gaming etc. YMMV.

The power consumed by a CPU is approximately proportional to CPU frequency, and to the square of the CPU voltage.[1] So maybe you can.

My knowledge is limited but I try to answer your questions of what I know and use on my device.. I am very sure there are many other or better ways you can deal with the UV for your CPU, so please give us some better advices if you know..
What I mean is you can set a lower voltage on Hund's CPU frequencies table that he intended for us to use. Some devices can handle a lower voltage setting than a normal or a typical value with the same performance without any problem. So you can try to lower your CPU voltage and see how low you can go without any crashes. There is always a power loss in any system because of serial resistance that dissipates heat. It is the Ohm's law and we have to live with it...
You can use the third party apps such as System tuner, Trickster, or any apps that allows you to change the CPU voltage. However, more apps will fill up your storage and use up your limited RAM. The better way is that you can go here and add this line at the end of your init.d script.
Go here: /system/ect/init.d/50CleanTWEAKS
Use your File Editor to open the file "50CleanTWEAKS" and add this line: echo "1340 1290 1240 1190 1080 1010 990 960 960 880 850 850 790 750 670 670 600 600 500 500 400 400 400 350 350 350 350" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/UV_mV_table at end of this file. You need to save and reboot and that is it. That is the UV that I am currently using without any crash. You can start from there and adjust the voltage (in mV) up and down depend on your CPU.
Kernel Installer is very simple to use. Boot to your TWRP and install the zip file. Select your device and the kernel that you want. About the Fsync, I don't recall that it is in kernel install process. Once again, you can toggle your Fsync on and off with a similar method above..
A last warning, the UV number above will be applied to Hund's V3.2, Not V3.0.6. Hund cleaned up his UV table from 3.0.6 to 3.2. They are more Voltage setting on 3.0.6.. Good luck.

Use your File Editor to open the file "50CleanTWEAKS" and add this line: echo "1340 1290 1240 1190 1080 1010 990 960 960 880 850 850 790 750 670 670 600 600 500 500 400 400 400 350 350 350 350" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/UV_mV_table at end of this file. You need to save and reboot and that is it. That is the UV that I am currently using without any crash. You can start from there and adjust the voltage (in mV) up and down depend on your CPU.
Kernel Installer is very simple to use. Boot to your TWRP and install the zip file. Select your device and the kernel that you want. About the Fsync, I don't recall that it is in kernel install process. Once again, you can toggle your Fsync on and off with a similar method above..
A last warning, the UV number above will be applied to Hund's V3.2, Not V3.0.6. Hund cleaned up his UV table from 3.0.6 to 3.2. They are more Voltage setting on 3.0.6.. Good luck.

Be aware that if you installed the uv option when installing the rom you will now have a 90UV file in /system/etc/init.d
This will override the changes above as 90 comes after 50 So you should edit that file if it exists instead. For the record this is what 90UV contains:

Thanks for the clarification. I have only one under voltage line on my script. Did you check Hund's new UV table? It is a lot cleaner than the old one. Maybe I am wrong again. Any way, I was surprise that I can run a lot lower with Hund 3.2 which I could not on 3.0.6. Please let me know or give me any suggestion that you have. I will take them and test them out...
