Maybe i don't understand you:
-you used the cm ota updater and now you are in bootlop after LG logo?
the ota updater mustn't be used to update the os2SD rom, use only the latest rom from hardlight's thread
-your phone bootlop after LG logo but the recovery works? this is what i did when it happened to me:
(you will lost all the recent data) reinstall a nandroid backup
or
if you didn't make a nandroid backup:
(you will lost ALL your data) from actual recovery install the mukulsoni cwm recovery, flash the omega rom, boot the system, waith 10 min, after a correct boot, reboot in recovery & reinstal the hardlight TWRP for os2sd, flash the os2sd rom
if you ask to hardlight (PM) he will probably show to you how to recover your system without lose data, please write the HL procedure
I do not use the ota update, not working in rom os2sd
I go into cyanogemmod upgrades,
I did the upgrade he pointed out, so that after the lg logo appears it goes into bootlop
there is until I uninstall and do the restore of the nandroid back up
Normal recovery works, i use TWRP 2.7.1 multi she serves as internal to external rom both
rom the last he came out and said that the 08/18/2014 and she's also bootlop
oh and thanks for answering me

so you did an upgrade of a non-os2sd rom, that from cm upgrades ( i suppose -> settings -> about this device) on a os2sd rom.
Sorry but as i wrote before the updates for this type of rom have to be os2sd rom, like from the hardlight thread
or if you want to make any rom (so the cm nightly) into os2sd use this hardlight guide
Don't update from cm updater, it download the non os2sd rom

I had the latest version of CM11 on my Opo 64 GB, was also using Multirom and Miui 4.10.24.
Tried to install the 4.10.31 version, but i did it wrong (i did not go into TWRP, then Multirom, add zip and install, but i just selected install rom and flashed the 4.10.31 zip file).
Now, the main CM11 OS is lost, i cannot boot into it, and i cannot also boot into MIUI.
So, how can i get my CM11 back?
I tried flashing the official version but it gives me error while trying to install it through TWRP.
Also if i reboot the phone and try to choose the MIUI it says
"error, kexec-hardboot support is required to boot this rom.
install kernel with kexec-hardboot support to your internal rom.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes I can, managed to install MIUI only, latest version.
I also installed Multirom again (on MIUI) and it downloaded cm11s kernel).
Ok managed to go back to my old miui os, now I have 2 miui os and no cm11, also downloaded the Franco kernel 30. How can i check if the cm11 that i had before is still there, if not how can i install it again without screwing my already working miui?
update:
After some tests, this is what's happening.
I believe I have no CM11S on my phone, that is gone!
I have the MIUI V5 running, but when i flash the franco kernel, the phone is stuck on boot (1+1 logo), i have to flash the kernel_kexec_bacon_cm11s to make it boot in MIUI (working).
So, now i have a working rom that works through Mutlirom and I cannot flash a working CM11S rom on the phone.
Any help would be great guys!

Is that wise? Going from a KK based rom (CM11), to a L based rom (CM12)?
I'd advise user to wipe data, maybe even update to stock LRX22C and from there, flash twrp and cm12.
If he has a clean CM11 installation he can easily flash CM12 without wiping anything.
If you're on stock ROM and apply the OTA update you're also going from KitKat to Lollipop without wiping anything.
Official statement:
You can flash CM12 nightlies directly from CM11 M12 or CM 11 nightlies (no need to wipe), provided you read and followed items 1 and 2

The OP's question was whether you could flash CM12 over CM11, not whether or not it would boot up
@Lethargy: That answer made my day :'D

my phone system version is 183.46.10
I have rooted my phone using towelroot and unlocked bootloader
now whats next?
latest firmware update (183.46.15) notification is bugging me, should i install it through ota in this condition or directly move to installing custom roms. if install this ota without unrooting, will my phone enter bootloop?
which recovery is recommended for android 5.0 on kk bootloader.

Here ist what i have experienced:
I was on System Version: 181.46.3
Well nevertheless:
It was the most recent version i could get and i wanted to get back to Android L.
I installed CM12 the Following way, I had a lot of problems with that. So here is my experience and everything:
So you need to know, to install CM12 or other CM12 based ROMS you first need to have CM11 installed.
Newer Versions of the recovery might be having problems installing CM11, so i would recommend using PhilZ Touch Recovery. It was working for me.
1st: install PhilZ recovery
2nd: factory reset
3rd: install cm11 (Unified Build, due to no up-to-date-build for XT925)
4th: boot
5th: install latest TWRP XT925/TWRP XT926
6th: factory reset
7th: install CM12 XT925 / CM12 XT926 or other CM12 based ROM
8th: install Gapps
9th: wipe cache/dalvik cache
10: Boot
11: Have fun.
Possible problems:
"This package is for moto_msm8960, xt907, scorpion_mini, smq, xt926, vanquish, this is a xt925" ------> You got a problem with the Recovery, it is too new. Try PhilZ
CM12 Booting, inconsistent Data partition stuff error ---------> you did not install cm11 and did not wipe Data before installing CM12, when coming from Blur Rom
Bootloop ---------> no wiping or you did not install cm11 before installing CM12
I hope this might have helped you.

Heyho
I have an XT925.
I installed the msm8960 Build.
The Reason i used the unified Build was, there is no KKBL build for the xt925.
thanks again, onto the procedure now
just last thing, which version of philz recovery you installed, download link has latest one @esok44

If you come frome OTA Kitkat 4.4.2
you have to change Step 1st: install PhilZ recovery ------ to ------ Install TWRP2710-RAZR-HD_M-KITKAT.img instead then you can flash the CM 11
If you like philz_touch_6.58.7-moto_msm8960.img recovery (it can mount external Memory Card as USB) you can flash it after all installations after Point 11. The only thing that you cannot start directly to recovery from CM 12.1
Hi Buddy!
Greetings from a new guy here
Just basic question, few days back I'm trying to Install Slimkat ROM, I've done few steps below :
- Wipe data factory reset
- Wipe chache
- Wipe dalvik
- Format system
- Flash zip from Internal SD Card
But I'm getting status error 7 on installation proccess
I'm trying to Install another ROM (CM 10.3 Official & CM 12 Unofficial) its working just fine
Why I couldn't install Slimkat on my device?
Because you are using an out dated recovery, you need at least cwm 6.0.4.4 because KitKat requires selinux support and older recovery doesn't support it, get it from general section of tab 2 and flash it using existing recovery
Hope it works

Thanks! Its working now
But just wondering, I previously using CWM 6.0.2.8 but I can even install CWM 12 which lolipop based
Why it doesnt work on slimkat which based on kitkat? Kitkat is even lower than lolipop

If you read what I typed carefully, KitKat uses selinux, lollipop doesn't,
So you can use any recovery made for your device to flash a lollipop based ROM,
But anyways people are getting trim bug that causes infinite Boot loop without any reason, that's why our supper hero Andi protects us with patches that prevent those things.
Hi, today I received Marshmallow OTA update (13.0-ZNH0EAS2JK, not yet installed), this is a great news but I also get a popup window says :
WARNING : Update Cyanogen recovery is disabled. This may cause issues with updating your device.
Please enable Update Cyanogen recovery in Developer options
Ignore / OK
1. Should I ignore the message or I have to enable Update Cyanogen recovery?
2. Right now I use TWRP, will the cyanogen recovery override the TWRP or not?
3. Just to make sure, upgrading to Marshmallow doesn't delete data and apps, right?
Btw right now I'm on CM 12.1.1-YOG7DAS2K1 (Lollipop) rooted.
this will not affect the update but your device may well not allow the update unless you re-flash CM recovery first then after updating again re-flash TWRP
For ota you should be in stock recovery not in twrP and stock rom ,Enable update cm recovery in developer's options.no data loss .
So before installing update, I need to re-flash CM Recovery or just enable it from Developer Options?

Toggle on the "update cyanogen recovery" from Developer menu and flash the stock recovery.
You probably need to flash the stock ROM too which includes the stock recovery.
When i switched from cm12.1 with twrp to cm13, just flashing the stock recovery didnt work for me, I had to flash the stock cm12.1 ROM
COS 13 bacon signed zip for fastboot and twrp posted in oneplus forum

I flashed via twrp , working well.
