[Q] Quiet Hours possible on Sense? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

So I was wondering if it is possible to get CM's wonderful Quiet Hours onto Sense? If not what is an app that works like the Quiet Hours setting. I love the Sense battery, wifi and over all stability, but I really hate having to mute my notifications everytime I go to bed and then have to remember to turn that volume back up. I have to keep the ringer active at night. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

What about the native Do Not Disturb that's built into Sense 6?

You can definitely schedule the DND feature for certain times. As far as the ringer goes, you can select any (or all) contacts to bypass the DND mode.

Thanks. I had to add it to EQS because the rom I'm on I couldn't figure out how to get it to give me settings. I have it set. Testing tonight to see if it works.

I use a free app from the Playstore called Timeriffic to set times for many things.
Very easy to configure. One gap it has is it seems to think the ringer volume and notification volume are linked.
If that is not an issue for you give it a shot I think you will like it.

Thanks I will look into it. The DND is working out well now that I figured it out. Thanks everyone for your help.

Is there any way to change this? If I missed another post on this I apologize. Thanks
You can use power manager in the Google Marketplace

One of the best 99 cent app I've ever purchased. Support the Dev, he just lost his job, and the app kicks ass.
Yeah, Power Manager has the option to a max of 2 minutes, but it has never worked for me, it always times out waaay earlier.

i use shake awake free app that causes your phone to turn back on if you move it a certain amount, you can ajust the sensitivity to howevver much you like. mine basically stays on if the phone moves at all while i am on a call
Awesome I will try these. Thanks for the responses.
Power manager doesn't change the timeout for the screen during calls. The only way to change that currently is using the shake program mentioned above. I use both programs and love both of them so when power manager doesn't help with the screen timeout during a call use it for all the other great benefits and select monitor so it can apply the different profiles (which you can customize) for all the situations.
I tired these apps they both seem to work pretty well, any ideas on how this could be done without using an app?

This will be really handy in the car. I always tend to set the phone in the passenger seat with the screen up, but then turn it over cause at some point the sun will reflect off of the screen and blind me. I also have the radio blasting and can never hear the notifications.
A little off-topic since it doesn't have that much to do with this but anyways:
What I'd like is to have the charging-LED light up for new mails. I think it's a little "extreme" to let the trackball light up when it's just a mail :b
This is nice. You can tell, even when the phone is lying face-up.
Thanks

Exactly! I'm loving this app!
Won´t this reduce led life??
worry about that led life but really cool concept.
Wish you have also create one for 2.1
I think LED are rated in 30K hour lifespan. If it's continually on, it'll take 3 years till EOL. Assuming it's strobing at 50/50 ratio, then it'll take 6 years if you get call all the time.

+1 on the widget! BTW, it worked today. I forgot that I set my phone to silent and realized that my phone was ringing through the strobing
works fine. thanks.
Youre not rdude?
Hey rori,
I'm on FRF50 and this thing rocks. What I noticed though is that during a phone call, the flash only goes through 4 cycles and then stops flashing. However it will take a few more cycles before the phone goes to VM. It'd be cooler if it went all the way through the ringing. It would be even cooler if the flashing intervals can match the trackball!
Anyone else experience this?

Decrease the vibration intensity

Hi,
Could it be possible? I think it is a bit loud. I didn't see anything in Augmented app settings neither in the Sony app.
Thanks!

I have been searching for this answer for a very long time. It's not possible to change it. I'm guessing you are using the metal band. I saw a guy putting some tape between the watch and the band in order to reduce the vibration/noise.
BUT there is hope, if you check this thread, you'll see on one of the next firmware update, that there is a "vibration" option in the watch settings.

Loud vibration normal?
Actually this can solve by replace to non-metal band.

I don't really like the look of sport band or leather. the metal band match better with a suit

I just notice something :
- stock app such as Gmail has a very strong vibration
- Watchify app is more gentle
If you go in the setting menu on the watch and disable the vibration, gmail app won't vibrate but the notification is catch by watchify so it will still vibrate. :silly::good:

Is not the difference only in time, how long vibration is? This parammeter can be configured on API level AFAIK.

I had to re-test it. I feel slightly longer on gmail extension. Maybe as Watichy's vibration is shorter, the "vibrator" motor does not have time to turn at full speed which leads to a less intense vibration... It's only an assumption. And it's really "slightly" longer.

I think the answer is the app call handling pro. You can set vibration duration and number of vibrations.

[Q] Modifying Motion Gestures

I use double tap to wake almost exclusively to turn my screen on, but I find some of the other HTC motion gestures annoying or problematic. For example, I have pulled my phone out of my pocket, while accidentally holding a volume button, and the camera app opened. This is generally an annoyance, but I have had this occur in a dark room followed by blinding everyone near me with the flash. I'm using ViperOneM8 at the moment, but didn't see an option to selectively enable these gesture controls.
Under display and gestures in settings.

I'm sorry I wasn't more clear. I want to disable to landscape+volume to turn on camera, but I want to keep double tap to wake. I don't see any option to do that.

Completely agree with you; I find myself triggering voice calls more frequently than I'd like. Unfortunately, the current ROM only permits "all" or none with the motion gestures (hopefully they'll fix that if enough folks complain).

That setting only affects the volume button function while the screen is already on.
It is a all or none approach as a previous poster stated as far as I can tell. Can wait until the devs figure out how to mod that.

Confused by notification sounds under vibration mode

Hi, my Pixel 3a is making a sound whenever there is a notification, although I have set the phone to vibrate (even in the do-not-disturb mode!). I have used Android phones for the past eight years, so I think I am pretty familiar with all the little things with Android, but I am just confused to hell about what is going on. I checked a few settings, and they look okay to me (which means that it would behave "normally" on my old phone). I have media volume set to non zero, but that should not matter as I understand.
I think if I turn off app notification sound in individual app's notification settings it should work, but obviously it is a daunting task that I do not want to bother.
I wonder if you can offer some advice. Thank you.

Yeah this confuses me as well. The only way i found was to tap the notifcation symbol again so it turns to the bell with the line through it. But then theres no vibrate either

I still have the notification sounds under the mute mode (and was again waken by a sound at 5am this morning). I suspected this may have something to do with Google Assistant, and while I am not 100% sure about it, I tried something and it worked for me: I turned off "notification access" (Apps & notifications > special app access, or via search) of "Google" and some other apps, tried to trigger notifications, and the phone vibrated/stayed silent as expected. I turned them back on, and everything still works fine. Hope they do not com back.
You may want to give that a try.
EDIT: DO NOT turn the access back on -- it may fail after you reconnect to your Bluetooth headset.

There is a thread for it now:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixe..._bug/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Since these notification channels were implemented, the whole way of the notifications being served got upside down and confusing. R&D forgot at 7.0 already that android is a phone os, some people don't have time to granularly tune each and every app and set the sound and vibrate and other bs.
Same here, Facebook's notifications can come with a weird sound even if I cut off any sound...
