But wouldn't your phone have to be flipped over for this to work effectively? I'm gonna try it anyways..

thanks, works great

What API gives you access to the LED flash in 2.2?

Toooo bad your are on froyo...I am sure you could have helped and make that happen for 2.1..klick

This will be really handy in the car. I always tend to set the phone in the passenger seat with the screen up, but then turn it over cause at some point the sun will reflect off of the screen and blind me. I also have the radio blasting and can never hear the notifications.

A little off-topic since it doesn't have that much to do with this but anyways:
What I'd like is to have the charging-LED light up for new mails. I think it's a little "extreme" to let the trackball light up when it's just a mail :b

This is nice. You can tell, even when the phone is lying face-up.
Thanks

Exactly! I'm loving this app!

Won´t this reduce led life??

worry about that led life but really cool concept.
Wish you have also create one for 2.1

I think LED are rated in 30K hour lifespan. If it's continually on, it'll take 3 years till EOL. Assuming it's strobing at 50/50 ratio, then it'll take 6 years if you get call all the time.

+1 on the widget! BTW, it worked today. I forgot that I set my phone to silent and realized that my phone was ringing through the strobing

works fine. thanks.
Youre not rdude?

Hey rori,
I'm on FRF50 and this thing rocks. What I noticed though is that during a phone call, the flash only goes through 4 cycles and then stops flashing. However it will take a few more cycles before the phone goes to VM. It'd be cooler if it went all the way through the ringing. It would be even cooler if the flashing intervals can match the trackball!
Anyone else experience this?

Something like this but in real it would be much better So is there somebody that can make this work ?! Not necesarly use this in-call screen .... u can use the standard one witch I prefer better because this one has the end call button too big and maybe you hit it by mistake.
So i see that there is nobody interested in this Not even one comment?

I was thinking of setting up led lights under my toilet rim that would be triggered by an optical switch when it picked up ripples in the water. So when the kids actually hit the bowl, it would light up and flash colored lights, but then I asked myself ...............................WHY?............................
Haha yeah good answer ,but i say this to ppl that likes the idea, i mean it wouldn't be for u offcourse but maybe there are ppl that like this. i'we seen some mobile phones with led's and stuff and it's really nice. Some coloured light to reflect on ur face when ure talking at the phone. so maybe there are ppl that likes the idea. I would make it by myself but I don't know programing. I can help with graphics, skins, I'm good about that. Waiting for more answers. Thanx

I'll buy 2 if you can sync them to music like the Christmas light shows on houses!

Well ..too bad that nobody`s taking this in serious .
I would enjoy such feature on my phone. I remember having a strobe light program on my old Thinkbook that flashed when I got messages or when i was playing music. Maybe have it flash also when you get SMS for finding your phone in the dark?
Cool idea!

You're getting funny (to say the least ) responses because it's simply impossible with MortScript.
MortScript has no abilities to do GUI manipulation of this nature. All it can do with respect to GUI/colors is "check" a pixel on your screen and tell you the exact color of that pixel. Plus a few other things that will not achieve results that you are seeking...
Read the manual, it has a section called "Display / screen" which will explain the limitations.
Hmm I was asking if somebody could make a flash application that will open on the center of the screen (an application that with blink and change colours) in front(over) of the in-call window and if it would be possible that u can still click the buttons in the background(speaker, end call, note ...) even if that app is running in front. And if that application can be triggered with mortscript when receiving call and close when ending the call ....that would do the job Waiting for answers.

Cheer's mate
works nicely. i like the fact you can rotate the bezel to alter the brightness.
Cool, it even allows full power, and apparently without limit, suggesting the LEDs can actually handle that... that's damn bright.
Now it would be even better if it didn't do that stupid animation everytime it's launched.
Thanks for sharing!
OK, just for fun, LED current draw:
Step 1: 32mA
Step 2: 107mA
Step 3: 530mA, thats 2W of LED. Mighty. I can light my whole flat with that. LOL
Nice.
Many thanks for sharing
Great app!!! is there a way to start it without the intro..?
http://pocketnow.com/software-1/new-htc-flashlight-app-for-hd2-available
Would it be possible, a recruitment Create menu where you can disable the 3 mode?
Thanks for sharing.
This is a very nice app.
I agree with other users, that it would be even better if it would start without the animation.
Any chace to achieve that?
All the Flashlight interface is done through GIO1: by HTCFlashlightLib.dll, which exports the functions EnableFlashLight and SetFlashLightDegree (though I haven't figured out their parameters yet).
Control codes for DeviceIOControl are 0x220C10, 0x220C04, 0x220C00, the last two are excessively used throughout the ASM. It also imports some clock stuff from MSM_CLK.dll - is it possible this one controls stuff like the CPU freq?
Thanks for the effort, and it looks nice, but it's useless due to the startup animation.
I have TorchButton in quicklinks, I just tap and it's instantly on. This thing takes a full 2-3 seconds which is kind of annoying, though I'm sure someone can fix it.
Edit: Also, this is 1.2MB larger than TorchButton... just saying, I wouldn't care if it didn't have animation at the start.
Thanks for sharing! Loving every detail
Decrease power of flash in photocamera
Can someone write to me the key of register to decrease the power of the flash when the camera is used?
cheers mate nice app
+1
It's nice but the start up animation is a bit of a bind.
My other TorchLight program starts up instantly just like a flashlight should
do you have the rest of the dump of the rom it came from?
This is a briiliant app but sadly as soon as I installed it my HD2 went all squirrley. My phone started to hang and booted slowly, when I got it to finally load using the slide to unlock the phone caused the screen to go black...
I like this just not sure why it did this...
In the end I uninstalled it and all is okay again...
Scott
ok. i know this is for htc devices but i put i on my lg expo. and it works as in it turns on and off the led but it turn on the front message led not the back camera led. does anyone know where the key/value that controls the led might be
thx

[REQ] tweak to disable vibration on start up

search for sometime now, could not find any leads that may shed light to this
anyone out there? I'll try searching for it in the registry, if only i know where to start
First off, I don't know why you'd even ask for this. It's a tiny burst of vibration that happens only once when you power up the device, and that's it. There's no harm in it and I can't see a genuine reason for wanting it gone since it happens so rarley.
Secondly, you can't get rid of it. It's part of the self-diagnostic that runs when you switch on the device. If you did find a way to stop it (and I'm 99.9999999999999999999% sure you won't) then the phone would probably think there was a problem and not boot.
You're gonna have to live with it mate.

ahhh. . . so cute it neh?? can i cuddle him/her?
ssshh. . . spamming
I was also looking for a solution to this problem.
You asked, why one should wish to deactivate this little vibration on startup...well, quite simple:
My HD2 performs its system backups every night, while it is in its cradle beside my bed. I am using SPB Backup which does a warm reset after finishing its operation. It's really not very funny to wake up every night, only because there is this "little" vibration during the boot up process.
If you are a user of a genuine HTC ROM, there is even an additional little melody playing after vibrating, which is still more uncomfortable! Only for this reason, I just reflashed my HTC ROM back to a Vodafone ROM (which only has the vibration).
I think, it would really be a good idea, If someone found a tweak to suppress the boot up vibration!

[Q] Quiet Hours possible on Sense?

So I was wondering if it is possible to get CM's wonderful Quiet Hours onto Sense? If not what is an app that works like the Quiet Hours setting. I love the Sense battery, wifi and over all stability, but I really hate having to mute my notifications everytime I go to bed and then have to remember to turn that volume back up. I have to keep the ringer active at night. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

What about the native Do Not Disturb that's built into Sense 6?

You can definitely schedule the DND feature for certain times. As far as the ringer goes, you can select any (or all) contacts to bypass the DND mode.

Thanks. I had to add it to EQS because the rom I'm on I couldn't figure out how to get it to give me settings. I have it set. Testing tonight to see if it works.

I use a free app from the Playstore called Timeriffic to set times for many things.
Very easy to configure. One gap it has is it seems to think the ringer volume and notification volume are linked.
If that is not an issue for you give it a shot I think you will like it.
Thanks I will look into it. The DND is working out well now that I figured it out. Thanks everyone for your help.

I agree with you it's so good but it uses all the pixels on amoled screens so it uses more battery.

Great app but it prevents deep sleep so as a result battery draining......
Thanks!!!

does not work. N920c screen turns itself after 3 seconds.
In some cases these sort apps needed. There are so many apps on PS like this. STAY ALIVE is best, it has some good options.
works great.
Work great ut my attery dead very quickly.
lost 3% in one houre
3% isn't too bad :/
Awesome. I would agree that the clock pixels need to shift to prevent burn in on the Amoled screens. The double tap to wake would be very useful. I am missing that and the back buttons a lot from my run with LG the past few years.
It's work but when you have phone call, it's not show you the caller screen until you push the power button for accept/deny the call.
Works okay on Note 5 but:
1) "Screen Off Memo"does not work
2) For some reason when I slide the phone into an i-Blason holster it turns (the always on app not the phone) on and stays on
-I have tried many thins to get it to stay off but it will stay on the whole time it is in the holster.
-If I just hold the holster up to the light sensor is turns off but as soon as I slide it in it turns on and stays on
-I made sure that the phone is not pushing any buttons and I even slid a piece of paper between the sensor and the holster and it turns off
as soon as I remove the paper it turns back on, but there is no way light is getting in
Really, weird.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=66590994
Has anybody seen this? I am trying it right now looks very promising !
Edit- well the battery drain with this app is also around 3% per hour which is too much....
basically, after extensive testing, this app drains batttery and isnt what everyone hoped for. .. a big unfortunately i must say, as the app is quite nice indeed.

Agree, the irony is you can literally see your battery percentage going down. , otherwise an awesome app. Dev needs to concentrate on saving battery instead of making new themes/ fonts etc.
