Hi.
When I configure an app in the led settings of my opo the led only works if the screen is locked.
But, for example, if I connect the charger the led is always on, with the screen unlocked too.
I also try lightflow but it's the same.
Can anyone help me? Thanks!

They made it like that, other manufacturers set up their LED notification light like that too. It's frustrating.

Hi Guys
You know when you plug your phone to charger or to USB there is an orange light on the upper right corner of the screen.
Is there any way to modify this, so that new mail, new sms or any notification that we choose makes this light blink? (Like blackberry style or trackball LED style)
See the screen shot

He's not asking about the trackball... he's asking about the one in the upper right of the screen....
But.. just curious... why don't you just want the trackball to blink? It's brighter and easier to see.

I find it easier to see that orange light.
Trackball's light seems to be very weak.

I'm still curious about hacking the LED in the upper right of the screen...
Try Missed Call.
App was make for rooted devices, N1 led don't flash different colors, if it has been rooted when the charger or usb is plugged the led flashes the assign colors. Always flash is the app. ONLY WORKS FOR ROOTED PHONES.

This guy knows what he is talking about.
He just mis-worded it, well it could work either way actually. App developers cannot make the LED (top left one) blink at all - and they also cannot control the color of trackball flash unless rooted.
It seems though, if you are charging the phone - and use an app like Missed Call, or Hancent SMS, the color of the LED does change.. but only when charging..
It is like Google completely disabled the LED unless the phone is being charged, other than that it is entirely off with no way to be accessed. I'm sure someone will find a loophole around this eventually I guess ~.~

Agreed. I need something for email also. That trackball changer works only for sms/mms.
In the Desire-ROM (HTC Sense) that has been leaked and now is available to Nexus 1-owners, the LED can be controlled just as the original post asked for. Works here, right now.
Just saying, no nothing is "stopped" when it comes to controlling the LED. It's just that no one has put any time into yet IMHO.

did he really say the trackball light was weak? are you really using a nexus one? my light is so bright, especially on white, that it practically wakes me up...
pauls nex desire rom aplha 9 works like this..
Try always flash..
Now I know there is no notification light for the G2x (ordered mine today- and backordered) but is it possible to have one of the capacitive touch buttons flash to let you know you have a message? such as the home button flashing 2 times a minute or something like that?
I'm no Dev, but just an idea.
Coming from a rooted G1, i'm more than willing to let go of the LED light but this could be a cool concept, if it worked....

It's half complete. The screen must be active for the LED to work.
Try Noled , free in the market. It places different color icons on your screen when there is a message lots of custom settings and easy on the battery. Works fine on miy G2X

I've noticed this too before, but not since the latest release (4/3/13), could be a coincidence, but if you are on an older build, try updating.

yeah, that is the latest. I'm not sure what the problem is. try a fix permissions in recovery, I haven't been having a problem. also try in different light conditions, as that could be related, as well as any crap that has built up over the sensor (just left of the notification light, you can see it at the right angle)

mmm and What exactly do Fix Permissions in Recovery?... I just wanna know XD. Anyway It doesn't solve my issue
I would also like info on this because my proximity sensor is broke and always thinks there is an object by the phone, which makes in-call operations impossible...
I suppose this has already been discussed but I still need an answer.
When I receive a notification, like SMS, sometimes the LED lights up and behaves as it should, and other times it simply doesn't blink. This seems to be random... Is there any way to fix this?
Also, is this a software issue, or hardware issue that needs RMA?
Thanks.

I've had a similar issue with using the custom stock notification, but I switched over to Light Flow and you you can choose your color led notification and it works fine you try it out.

The LED itself functions well, but sometimes it just isn't triggered by notifications as it should.

Every once in awhile something similar happens to mine. If I power the screen on and off without actually unlocking the phone, the LED begins flashing normally as it should. Not sure if sometimes it just doesn't get triggered.

I thought mine had a similar problem initially on stock, but I think it was just me being picky ..... I'm running the CM11 nightlies now and it's working fine... Generally though the light will only turn on for notifications when the screen is off... Perhaps that's what you're noticing...

Not just for SMS. You see, right now I received an email through the Gmail app and the LED blinked once and stopped. And I turned the screen on and off and then it blinked once again and stopped. Really weird!
But now I got a text message and it's working fine. It's really random!

That sounds pretty similar to what mine was doing. I don't think lightflow even helped too much... I would recommend CM11.... It has customization for the notification light built in and it all seems to work very well.

I came from one plus 6T and I think that best way to deal with no LED notifications was app called Plus Beat. It activate stock ambient display according to predefined time interval. Sadly it's no working on 7 Pro anymore. Anyone is aware of good alternative for that kind of app?
Hello
I also come from the 6T and I have installed it in my 7 Pro.
I think it worked better in the 6T, but I do not notice that goes wrong in the 7 Pro.
The only thing that ever worked for me is the option of DND profiles. When I set it up and activate it, I get into the app and the Option Enable Plus Beat It's off.
Anyone know how to fix it?
There's another app. It's called "Always on Edge". Works fine for me.

This may be a very dumb question but is there a way to dismiss notifications from the actual notification screen (I believe this is the ambient screen)?
The only way I've been able to dismiss notifications is to go into the lock screen and swipe away the notification.
