I have a sensation with hboot 1.18.0000 s-on
I have unlock the bootloader and install custom recovery!
When i power on the phone it fails(restart's)
Please help me!
Ok a little more information would be helpful. Do you still have the stock ROM on the device, I mean is the custom recovery all that you have installed? Have you tried booting to the bootloader and then to recovery?
I try to install a custom ics rom, isn't the stock one and i don't have a backup! Sorry for my bad english
The stock was a 2.3 gingerbread!
Ok I think I understand your problem now. Have you flashed the boot.img for the ROM via fastboot or did you enable Smart Flash for 4EXT Recovery? If not that is probably your problem. I say this because you are S-ON so that tells me you are HTC Dev unlocked which means you have to flash the boot.img differently than if you were full S-OFF.

Wait I just realized something. You said you are on Hboot 1.18.0000, which means you are still on the old firmware and you can not use ICS ROM. The process to gain S-OFF for Hboot 1.18.0000 is much simpler than for higher Hboot versions because you can use revolutionary. So before I go any further I need to know if you want to stay HTC Dev unlocked or if you want to be full S-OFF.

Ok here goes, you are still on the old firmware so you can not use a ICS or Jelly Bean ROM without updating your firmware. Now because you are S-ON you can not flash another firmware unless it is in a official update package. No let me cover your options here.
Option #1
You can just flash a Gingerbread ROM and then flash the boot.img and you will be back up and going.
Option#2
You can re install the stock recovery from here, you will have to extract the recovery from the zip file and flash it via fastboot commands. Then you can download and flash the official update from this thread[/URL}. You may have to open the zip file and then open the firmware.zip file and add your CID to the "android-info.txt" if it gives you a error about the wrong CID. below is what the "android-info.txt" has in it already, if you see your CID then you should have no problems.
Code:
modelid: PG5813000
cidnum: HTC__001
cidnum: HTC__E11
cidnum: HTC__N34
cidnum: HTC__203
cidnum: HTC__102
cidnum: HTC__405
cidnum: HTC__Y13
cidnum: HTC__A07
cidnum: HTC__304
cidnum: HTC__032
cidnum: HTC__016
mainver: 3.33.401.6
hbootpreupdate:1
After flashing this via the stock recovery your ROM you have on your device now should boot, but remember to reflash a custom recovery.
Option#3
You can relock your bootloader via HTC Dev and use [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300"]this thread to gain full S-OFF and then just flash the 3.33 universal firmware package from this thread.. Afer that you can flash any ROM you want to and not have to flash the boot.img separate
If you think you ever will want to be full S-OFF I highly recommend you use Revolutionary before you change your Firmware as it is much easier to use than Juopunutbear.

Look in the Sensation Android Development forum, you will probably have to look back past the first couple of pages to find one. Just look for a ROM that says it is 2.3.? Android and you should be ok.

Did you flash the boot.img for the ROM you flashed? Remember because you are HTC Dev unlocked you willhave to flash the boot.img every time you flash a new ROM.

If you are still having troubles try this ROM and see what it does I know it is the right kind of ROM to use with the firmware you have.
I did a wipe, then flash the rom, then flash the boot.img from cmd! and if i power normaly is continuously rebooting, when i enter bootloader-->recovery the phone is starting perfectly!
If you have not worked out your problem do the below quoted text is from the "Flashing roms with S-ON and 1.27 HBOOT" thread. Please do the below and post your firmware virsion.
Extra 2: Checking your exact firmware version
This can be useful if your phone is stuck in a bootloop, people who will try to help you will need this formation. You can find out your exact firmware version by doing the following;
If you can turn your phone on do the following:
Plug in your phone and make sure USB-debugging is enabled
Go to C:\Android or wherever your adb and fastboot are located
Shift right click in the white space on that folder
Select "Open command window here
Type in: adb
Type in: adb reboot-bootloader
Your phone will reboot, wait until you see a white screen which says "FASTBOOT USB"
Type in the command window: fastboot getvar all
From the list "version-main" represents your current firmware version

Maybe you should wipe cache and dalvik cache. Saved me once somehow.

Hi, I introduce myself, I'm Lorenzo from Italy, and I have come to you only after I've have tried to solve a problem with my Desire S.
I unfortunately found too late that the phone that I bought used had been modified with teh Revolutionary patch and when I
loaded an update downloaded from the official website from this moment the phone freezes on the screen HTC and goes no further.
I tried alone to search the web, using the various guides available to try to unlock the phone but with no success.
The current state is as follows:
the phone is S-ON
This is the state:
version: 0.5
version-bootloader:2.00.0002
version.baseband 3822.10.08.04_m
version-cpld: none
version-microp: none
version.main: 2.10.401.8

partition-layout: Generic
securityn
build-mode: SHIP
boot-mode: FASTBOOT
commitno-bootloader: ebd3df7d

At this time I replaced Revolutionary with ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.1.5 as I would like to load ice cream.
I also tried to follow a post that explained how to restore the original software, but I believe that in the current state it is necessary to install
the sdk to work at a lower level.
Thanks in advance for the attention you will give to my post.
I think you forgot to flash the boot. img

mine is S on and after flashing every rom i have flash the boot image and also the first boot taked about 5 to 7 minutes for me.
i thought my phone was bricked but it does take bit time in booting.
So flash with fastboot flash boot boot.img
that should help.
AW: [Q] desire s freezes in htc logo
Is the bootloader locked or unlocked?
When I switch on the devce with volume down pressed the first raw say *** UNLOCKED ***, I think this mean that bootloader is unlocked.

Hey guys, before I say something. I have really searched for help on the forum, although I clearly need help.
So I was trying to ROM the new Revelation rom and ended up in a bootloop where phone is restarting at HTC screen. I've flashed ROMs a several times with no problem whatsoever, until now.
I have 4Ext recovery and can access it without problems. Tried installing other ROMs as Cm10 with no luck.
At the time is says in bootloader.

Folks, the surgery went well! I fixed it.
Was looking for every possible solution and found a guide! Finally got my lovely sensation back.
1. Put the firmware PG58IMG file in root (3.33.4 - since my fastboot told me so). Let it "flash".
2. Went inside 4Ext and removed the PG58IMG file.
2. Formated and wiped dalvik and cache.
3. With 4Ext smartflash turned on I flashed CM10.1 ROM.
4. Bootet back to bootloader in 4Ext, connected my device to adb and fastboot.
5. Copied the boot.img from the CM10.1 Rom-file and put it in the same folder as adb and fastboot.
6. Typed "fastboot flash boot boot.img", let it flash.
7. Reboot, phone back and feeling good!
Hope this helps for anyone who's stuck at HTC logo screen and has S-ON. Since the S-ON kind of prevented me from changing CID etc. I tried this, which worked successfully!

Even I had the same problem today.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349395
In short..the culprit was the boot.img.
It was not being flashed even after enabling smartflash in 4ext recovery.
So basically what I did was exract boot.img from the AndroidRevolution rom and flashed it via fastboot(fastboot flash boot boot.img).
And it worked!!
Try this and report.
@NickenA
You should probably remove your imei and serial number from OP.
Sent from my Ouya
You can still flash Revelation but since you are S-ON you may need to flash the boot.img separately like you posted in your solution. So, extract the boot.img from the ROM, flash the ROM then push boot.img to your phone afterwards, and before you know it you will be enjoying the smoothest Sensation possible!
I've been having the same problem, once again, after trying to flash Revelation (and yeah, I'm also 1.27 with S-ON) so this looks like it's definitely the common denominator. Even with SmartFlash in 4EXT, the boot.img doesn't seem to flash for any ROM after attempting to flash revelation - I even tried 3 others that I know used to work just fine. I was starting to get afraid that I may have softbricked my phone, but I'll go ahead and try flashing boot.img manually. Thanks
EDIT: Worked like a charm - only needed to do fastboot flash boot boot.img
The other method with the PG58IMG is going a little overboard, IMO
Jus flash the proper boot.img

No need to wipe/flash anything.. Most boot-loops with S-ON occur with wrong boot.img. Just use fastboot flash boot boot.img and you should be good to go.
I have the same problem... :/ (Not sure if I have to start a new thread)
I have flashed the Revelation ROM and after rebooting I'm stuck at HTC splash screen. Now after restoring my backup of my previously used CM10.1 ROM I'm stuck on splash screen too. I even tried to flash a clean CM10.1 ROM, but same problem
I'm S-OFF using hboot 1.29 and latest firmware.

with locked bootloader you are restricted to fastboot commands
what to do is flash 3.33 universal from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
it will give you also a patched hboot which is unlocked
follow the instructions carefully
and before flashing check md5 sums(important)
after that try with the command again

Hm, info product vle also sounds like s4.
But back on topic: What did you (try) to do?
Edit: Before you run the ruu?
Basic path I would follow:
* flash stock kernel
* flash stock recovery
If that doesn't work:
* flash custom recovery
* MAKE BACKUP
* SAVE BACKUP
* install stock or custom ROM
* restore data from backup
Did you locked before you runned RUU?
If not, try.
Look on your package of your phone on the backside, which model you have.
Z560e -> S3
Z520e -> S4
Did you updated to Jelly bean?
If yes, any RUU for S3 won't work!
Try to flash a custom recovery (please take twrp 2.3.x.x). It must work.
And then you must flash a custom Rom. Take Liberty Rom or Paranoid Android. And after you flashed the custom recovery, flash the boot.img, cause you are S-ON. If you can start your phone now, make a Backup in TWRP and save the backup on your PC.
If all of these Steps were succesfull, send me a PN. I will send you a Tutorial, made by @khan.orak, how to flash stock rom via OTA!
But first of all, try my beginning steps.
Good Luck, and pay attention: send us all of the error Logs. We need them!

Find a ROM for S4.
You're in the way to brick your Phone! DONT FLASH S3 roms!
Flash a S4 rom and flash boot.img/kernel of that rom. It'll flash fine and reboot fine then.

Exactly. It's an S4
I want kill the old owner. he said me that it's an S3 model. Why I had to doubt?
I'm sure it's an S4 model because the RUU S4 run good and complete the installation(same for a twrp for S4).
Now there is another problem. After I installed the RUU, it reboot continually.
Whats' worng? it maybe an Hardware problem? :crying:
In TWRP it doens't reboot but when "htcOne" logo appear, after a second it reboot again and again and again.
Thank you for the answer.
Basic path I would follow:
* flash stock kernel
* flash stock recovery

Where I could find these stock kernel and recovery?
Thank you
Thats a bootloop
I dont know how it is on a s4 model after RUU, but try to flash the kernel. Open the RUU setup via winrar or other programs.
I dont know exactly which zip you must open in the ruu but try to find the boot.img in the rom.zip/firmware.zip ...
I hope i can help you!

Hi everyone,
I have a similar problem. I am also in a bootloop. And due to Hboot 2.15 and the lack of a RUU supporting my phone (T-mobile branding CID T-MOB101) I can't get back to stock. Unfortunately I can't get into any recovery, neither twrp, cmw nor stock recovery. I've flashed several twrp versions a couple of times but always when I select recovery in the bootloader the phone returned into the bootloop. After flashing the custom recovery I also used "fastboot erase cache" and flashed the boot.img.
Does anyone know how I can get TWRP or CWM up and running in order to be able to flash a custom rom?
Thank you in advance.

I have the same model and I had no trouble flashing CWM or TWRP. Currently I have the latest CWM.
On www.cyanogenmod.org there is a good tutorial on how to install CM on the Ville with TWRP.
Can you factory reset? Or erase storage?

Do you already have the drivers?
-try to install Twrp 2.3.x.x
-than you can read the tutorial from @khan.orak "how to get back to Stock with Ota!
You must have a choice to install twrp. It MUST work. You can only go to recovery if you UNLOCKED your bootloader. Unlock it, if it is locked (htcdev) :*

You can flash this firmware update to fix your phone. It will set it back to HBOOT 2.15 and stock radio. Then you can run the stock RUU or flash a new custom recovery + rom
firmware.zip for T-MOB010--> LINK
Here is how to flash it --> GUIDE
You will need to charge your battery first as it has to be at least 30% charged. I'd suggest to charge it to 70% just to be safe.
Sounds like you got the same issue I got last year and only running a RUU fixed it.

I assume you can get into the boot loader. Maybe lock the boot loader and run the RUU to get back to stock. Someone else chime in if you have better suggestions please.

Did you perform "factory reset / clear storage" in bootloader mode before you installed the custom recovery again?

OK, now I could be wrong but you being S-OFF means you can install any RUU. But obviously I would install one that matches the country/carrier and processor.

This is the matching RUU for taking your phone back to full stock --> LINK
You probably will need to flash the included recovery before you run the RUU.

Don't Flash CWM Latest.
Guys Don't flash CWM Lastest Version from its website. It doesn't work. Try TWRP 2.4 or above.
