many threads on this forum are from 2011 or 2013 and about HTC or older Android versions, so I don't think they are any way suitable for us , am I wrong?

Buy a HTC!!
Honestly, I switched from M7 to G3
My question is: can we manually (or by using an exposed module or something) hack the status bar icons and have colourful ones?

It is possible but too much work. We need the icons in the right resolution (192x192) and even you find it for the old HTC stuff they will be only xhdpi icons. Do you know where that icons are from? Source?
in the link I posted, the author said he made them himself using Photoshop.
You can with the G3 TweaksBox xposed mod. You can change the colors of all the icons as far as I can tell. Haven't tried it myself though, I like how LG themed the G3

I found this in this Touch HD thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505904. The author says that it should work on older devices that don't have the new notificaiton menu available, but for devices that have it already (D2 Touch Pro2) it doesn't work.
I'd love to have this as now I always go to the power settings to check on my battery (I don't like the other percentage battery options here on xda - I like the original look of the battery icon...)
It should have been included on Topaz from the start, but HTC omitted it (see here: http://www.ppcsg.com/index.php?showtopic=105810&st=460&p=797983&#entry797983).
wow, this is a good suggestion...
you can find this in the cooked roms, Blasev Tessv1.1 has it...
I have this too, and I have a rom from udK, you can find it in my signature..
I think it's really usefull and i love it.

lol, means i gotta update my rom just to get this? is there a way .cab file for it instead? i never upgrade my rom before, just bought it last month
Exaxctly... I don't want to flash a new ROM to have this, I hoped that someone would be able to create a cab to enable this...
I was able to find it here (I'm a dumbass - should have searched for it before asking...).
For anyone who wants it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517769 (it's quoted in the thread).
Enjoy!
there is 2 .cab file in the link, which one should i install?
sdkcert.cab
Topaz Notification Manager.cab (obviously this one, 3mb)
so what does sdkcert.cab does?
oh got it... gotta install both.
thanks!!!!
I found on Samsung Vibrant forum the way for add Toogle options on StatusBar, but I'm trying to do the same and the framework is not similar for do it easy for my knowledge.

Here is the full explanation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=816658
I see that services.jar use images from framework I think that can be possible use somethink like this attached files for images (images from SwitchPro).
The problems that I fount is that explanation says modify:
com/android/server/status/StatusBarService$31
but I think that on HTC sercives.jar is:
com/android/server/status/StatusBarService$5
There are a lot of things different but I can't understant for the moment.
Very good idea to develop, interesting and useful
Common: Galaxy S style power widget in notification bar - Pedlar

I believe these are in the CM nightlies.
It's not the same, but it might be useful.

CyanogenMod and HTC also have different framework-res.apk and services.jar, for this reason, it also easly portable from this
I'm looking for this on MIUI ROM but also, it has a lot of different code, something on common an something different. But seems to be more similar with HTC framework that Samsung Vibrant.
Another ROM without Sense here with the same MOD applyed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8761473&postcount=2431
its Defrost. Currently Nightly build of CM got it. Hope this got ported to sense though.
I didn't dig the gradient on the HTC Sense notification bar so I modded it. Credit goes to the creators of Smooth Sense and the Circle Battery mod, which I used in this.

I tested it on my Virtuous 3.0 install and it worked. I figure it should work with any sense rom.

thanks man!
I don't know a way to get the notification bar to be transparent. I think you have to mess with services.jar and I don't really want to do that.
There is already a theme for transparent status bar on this site somewhere, I was HUGe into making that and got it, but theres much more to it. you have to re-make wayyy too many .png files.
Do you have to use Bootstrap everytime you flash something new with Metamorph?
This is awesome looking, will it work on my Evo? I am just running clockworkrecoverymod that comes with unrevoked's quick root, and no other roms. LPP, otherwise stock 2.2 rom. And I put this on the SD AndroidTheme directory and tried to flash it and it froze my phone and kept looping the Sprint Screen...
Any help would be much appreciated, as I would LOVE to have this on my phone
Couldn't find one like this searching around so I replaced the digits myself on another apk to fit what I was looking for. Just place this straight in your "system/app" folder and you should be good to go.
No warranties....no customer service....it works on my SGSII running Task650 AOKP Build 39....should work for you too.
Added a no border and no side border version.
Enjoy.

Confirming .. works on stock samsung gb rom.
(and please can you make it with matte black background without borders, cyan-blue digit colors? )
I added a version with no borders and one with no side borders.
Mr dev sir reporting a bug
sent from the other side of my galaxy
Oops.
ill fix that and repost it tomorrow. PC is at work.
But im no dev...i just figured out how to swap the numbers around.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
Well man...I have gone back and checked and all the digits in the apk are correct...so im a little stumped on why your one digit is wrong..
I have been using the bordered one for the last couple days and haven't seen this problem. The only thing I can think of is maybe if the original apk is still in your system/app folder maybe there is some overlaping or something?
I removed the old file first...but I guess this is where the "im not a dev" part comes in...not sure what else to look at.
Help i want this oldie goldy for my S7 Edge and i cant find anything on the market

You'd have to do it with apps / widgets and launchers

SO buy an old HTC phone then
I've already told you to look for launchers and widgets for trying to recreate the look on your S7, that's the only way you'll manage it, if it is possible at all
Use a theme.
The clock is easy use HD widgets from the Play Store. The launcher bar is another story and I don't see that anywhere either other than experimenting with themes
