Running KitKat 4.4.4.
I took a photo last night using the camera from the lock screen. Hours later, i checked my phone for that photo. I looked for it in the Photos app and it was not there, device nor cloud backup.
This morning i turned on my phone and i got the notification that a photo has been backed up onto the cloud. I opened up the Photos app and now it shows the photo i took last night on my device gallery.
Why did it not show up on my device when i first took it?

I am running a infused rom and so far so good.
I have taken about 10 pics all with no troubles but then last night I would take a picture and it would not show in the small preview box (its black) also when I go to view a picture, pressing the folder on the left side does not bring up the pics.
Using root explorer I can see the photos I just took but when I choose one, the picture never displays. Just a black background with the slideshow or more icons
very very odd.
And ideas
Have you tried to restart/reboot the phone so the media scanner can run?
There should be an APP on the market which would simply run the media scanner without the need to restart/reboot of the phone.
that did the trick. Thank you
I was looking at photos on my SD card in my TF700 dock. I was viewing them from the stock gallery. I was in the film strip view and swyping left and right through the photos and unintentionally swped at a left/down angle and the photo slid down off the screen. I didn't think much of it and continued on and then a few other photos did the same thing. This probably happened on like 5 photos before i noticed a brief undo popup in the bottom right corner. I didn't think it would delete photos without some sort of confirmation, but I guess I was wrong. Is there any way to undelete these photos and to turn off this feature? I am not unlocked or rooted and upgraded to JB this morning.
The phone is a Brazilian xt1033 with 16gb and stock rom on 4.4.2 with gallery app update from google play. Suddenly some photos are all black in gallery app. When I try to open them on xplore, for instance, they come up ll black also. All pictures were taken with the camera app and some of them appear just fine. This is one of the problems.
The second: when I create a folder inside dcim and copy some pictures over there from another folder (all using using xplore), those pictures appear all black on gallery but, on xplore, they show just fine (unlike the pictures taken with camera).
Is somebody else having this problem? I tried rebooting the phone but the pictures still show all black.
Go to settings, apps and then:
Search Gallery -Force Stop and delete data.
Search Media Storage -Force Stop and delete data.
Reboot your device and wait a couple of minutes.
Then please report if it worked
Didn't work for me. Photos are still black. Happened when I was trying to transfer photos to my computer. Photos were on the internal memory, and some (still in the phone) turned black after I copied (ctrl-x - ctrl-v) others in my computer througth usb connection. Photos that were copied to the computer were fine; photos that were in the phone turned black at most (some didn't turned black).

Reboot phone, doesn't work? Make a back up and re flash the rom, or ask someone to pull the stocl camera of 38R and flash it over.
I had 6.5 gb of video and photos. When yesterday all this data was delated camera and gallery works fine. When I checked with friend his OPO with about 4 gb (photos and video) it is working fine as well. So tell me guys if u have a problem with over 5-6 gb of video and photo gallery.
I flash 38R camera yesterday but no difference with over 6 gb of gallery, still have to wait to have a access to gallery by swipe.
I'm trying to figure out the how & why of this, as well as how to fix the problem.
I'm working with a fire phone that has cyanogenmod 11 (android 4.4.4).
I took it on an epic 3-day trip during which many pictures were taken using the OpenCamera app (recommended for this version of CM on the Fire). A few of the pictures were looked at during the trip, but they were not really examined.
No opencamera settings were changed before or after the trip.
At the end of the trip, there are no pictures at all. Pictures from before the trip started are saved, some (but not all) GPS tracks are saved, but there are no photos.
If I take a photo now, it is saved and appears in the gallery.
I tend to think that this is an android problem, not an opencamera problem because some GPS tracks are missing as well.
The phone was rebooted 4-5 times during the trip. Any ideas for how & why or what to do?
