ipega gamepad on kit kat - Sony Xperia L

I can't pair my ipega gamepad on kit kat roms (mokee, vanir, cm11), need to use ipega game center and GHKey IM, app to map buttons to touch (gamekeyboard, tincore mapper, etc) don't work, a lot of issues :crying:
It's working perfect on Jelly Bean 4.2.2 .17 FW, but i don't like to stay in JB

Its not implemented in kitkat feature of XL...
You don't even have STAMINA mode on KK.... (for now) and other bugs are yet to be fixed...
When you get stable KK rom for XL you coud expect additional features to be implemented within...

play xperia optimized games on normal android phone with bluetooth keyboard?

I saw NOVA 2 for xperia play and you can play using xperia play gamepad... question is there a way (maybe needs development) to play it on normal android phone e.g. htc desire and map some buttons on physical keys like on a bluetooth keyboard or even desire's physical keys!?? Would be useful for non fully multitouch phones like desire, x10, hd2, etc...
sounds like this needs dev to achieve... just putting up the idea.. you think it wud be possible? that would be awesome imo
great idea^^ If it would work with keyboard mode it would also work with special Gamepads like the iControlPad for example. Thats a fully working bluetooth gamepad that has all the buttons an xperia play has.
It is definitely possible but I'm not sure if anyone has done it yet. I'll look into it, sounds like a great idea.
i think it's possible too.. i have tried "i must run" and "soccer superstars", both games optimized for xperia play.. and i can use the optical trackpad to move and jump in "i must run") and pass in "soccer superstars".. so i think with a gamepad i should be possible to use the gamepad buttons but probably analog will not work...
i am on htc sense, i can't test my wiimote.. if someone can test soccer superstars with a wiimote on desire, it would be great
ok lol as noone seems to be willing to try with a wiimote, i flashed a cyanogenmod 7 rom on my desire. I have tried only with one game: soccer superstars and i can confirm that i can play the whole game with wiimote. I can move with wiimote's d-pad and use the three keys A(pass), B(shoot) and S (super shoot) by mapping the keys properly on the wiimote. Might try other games but not much time atm

[Q] N.O.V.A 3 Not working with Xperia Play controls?

I purchased N.O.V.A 3 from the "Play Store" and I am only able to use the on-screen controls with my Xperia Play. Everyone seems to think it DOES support the Xperia Play controls though. Why isn't it working for me? Is it cause I am using Cyanogen Mod 9?
Yes, the reason you have no Xperia game control support is because you are using CM. Using any other rom that is not based on the Sony Ericcson framework, meaning the firmwares that SE released will remove the function of the game controls. If you were to use a SE firmware you would have the controls working. I purchased Nova 3 an it works just fine on my device, but I again I am using SE firmware.
On my play the controls works really great
Has someone tried it on aokplay?

That sucks :/ The controls work with minecraft though? I there way I can duel boot roms? You don't have to explain it just gimme some guidance haha. Thanks.
It will only work on stock or stock-based roms and always launch it from the Xperia Play Launcher and not your app drawer or homescreen.
Using true ancestor and was able to use xperia play pad, its just that the graphics isnt that HD.

i have prob too with nova 3 xperia play
i have nxt xperia rom and it works with controls but now it doesnt when i got chainfire 3d is there a way to keep controls and good gaphics?
A problem I have is that the game works initially with xplay controls, then it randomly decides to use on screen controls and doesn't switch back

That is the reason I don't like CM-base mod ROMs.
It's understandable that official roms-(or roms modified from them)-from Sony have embeded best touch panel drivers for them to work, or we say, FUNCTION.
A R800I without the two gorgeous touch panels is NOT a real Xperia PLAY.
:laugh::silly:
I simply love this idea of using the touch panel control on cellphones.
The reason is:
1) Touch panel has obviouslly longer life expectancy than real console. We only need to touch and scratch, no need for mechanism that's easy to break.
2) Touch panel has much smaller requirement for space and thickness when you design a gameplay cell-phone such as Xperia Play.
Even on CM7.2? Touchpads don't work on Asphalt 6 aswell.
Is the wapshop version xperia play optimised?

Your play is rooted (because you have a custom rom) get "Game keyboard" you can optimize the game to work on your game pad I think. Try it, should work

[Speculation] Possibly getting Final Fantasy III optimized for physical gamepads?

I'm sure I don't need to get anyone here up to speed on the OUYA, but one thing that does strike up interest is their partnership with Square-Enix. Ouya being a physical controller dominated consolve means that Square-Enix support is bound to upgrade their games with that all-important precision of controller-based input.
Touch input on RPGs is fairly acceptable, but what I've noticed in games like Eternal Legacy and Symphony of the Eternity is that; while touch input seems like it'd be better than gamepad input for RPGs, it's actually much slower, and much less precise.
At any rate, do you think Square-Enix being in bed with Ouya means Final Fantasy III will get native controller support in an update? I'm thinking that we may get some inadvertent Xperia Play gamepad support just from that!
Unfortunately though it seems like the API for controller support on ICS is different than what the Xperia play controls need to work. Hence why dead trigger for example needed additional work to be xplay optimized. I wouldn't hold my breath.
I agree with Rogue Leader. Many games have ICS gamepad support without Xperia Play game-pad support and I can't imagine supporting one controller medium will necessarily lead to supporting another. There is a ray of hope shining in from a different direction, Lara Croft was made by Square-Enix and features gamepad support so the company does have experience with the code and could implement it based on that if they feel that implementation will boost their sales.

Only the touchpad. The play uses the same hardware keys as a native controller except that X (D-Pad center) = Button A and circle (back) = button b. So this could be rectified with gamekeyboard remapper. This is the reason there was no ics for xperia play as Sony could not match touchpad (Sony framework code) to android 3.1+ native controller code. Thus making some games broken as seen in Sony's ics beta Rom.
As for FF I can't see that touchpad/ analogs would be needed so there is a good chance most buttons would work

Working beautifully in my smart q t20 tab with an ipega BT controller.
I use option scr invert X and swap X/Y, in out device
Great work! Much better than sixaxis controller and free!!!
This could be a great tool to get some games working on an OUYA. I'll play around with this as soon as I have the time and report back! Thanks!
I have been able to get the ouya control sticks working by swapping x/y axises and inverting the x axis. So far I have set this up for dead tiger and minecraft.
event_strategy.ouya_game_controller_0.stick0.axis_swap=1
event_strategy.ouya_game_controller_0.stick0.axis_x=X
event_strategy.ouya_game_controller_0.stick0.axis_x_invert=1

are there any video tutorials? or step by step guides? Honestly I have no idea how to use this and didn't understand the wiki page
Exclude devices
Is there any way to exclude device that is conected beacause you dont want to use it in games?
for example i have Conectet to my ouya wireless usb keyboard and mouse witch i dont use in games...
without some tutorials, this is useless! i appreciate the time you spent making this but most of us here have no idea how to use it.
the videos on youtube show just some people paying games, no real DEMONSTRATION.
i'm using NYKO playpad pro and i can't control most of my games.
this might be the right app.
Awesome!
Thank you Tincore, I must say this app is very useful not only for gaming but for my home entertainment.
I use my S4 connected to TV via MHL adapter and ipega wireless controller, both works pretty good and setup is quite easy for me.
To make it more perfect, it possible to have auto load profile to a specific profile? because I want my non games use specific profile (with hybrid virtual pointer and home, back, etc shortcut so I can easily go around the launcher and other app movie, gallery from my couch) but when launching specific game, I want it to load specific game profile.
Also can you explain extra paid support feature below,
- Add extra touch controls? --> what other extra touch? why is it useful?
- Analog stick input? --> I dont understand, sorry
Each extra feature has different price and almost $25 for all features, do you have premium one with cheaper price
I don't see any overlaid buttons at all when I have my Moga connected to my Nexus 4. Are they supposed to show up automatically when I open Tincore?
Edit - figured it out, have to press buttons to get them to show up, working perfectly now
How do you do to use it with a bluetooth gamepad?
It doesn't seem to recongnize my gamepad if I hit the refresh option on tincore and click que bluetooth sync button on the gamepad, so how is it supposed to connect to the gamepad?
Is there someone who can help me to setup my moga pro to play at order and chaos?!

Open Tincore then minimize it. Open the game, launch Tincore while in the game (I use Smart Statusbar to help with this) then map the buttons. It couldn't be easier.
You really need to be more specific if you need help.
help
man.. i really need your help. i have lenovo s920 and.. i tried to pair it with ipega via tincore. but it doesnt work,, just force close. i try blueimez and bt joystick and it just the same. but only tincore can detect my ipega. my you have a solution..
my s920 run in jelly bean 4.2.1.
I still can't get a hang of it of Tincore Keymapper. Im trying mapped keys for touch screen games mc4, shadowgun, fifa, codboz, etc for use with xbox 360 wireless controller on a mk802iv android pc mini. Basically, whenever I make tincore visible to mapped out the touch screen keys, it either pause the game or black it out. I probably gonna have to use post-it notes to tape position of touch keys on my smart tv. Even opening the app is a pain in the ass cause most of the times it just force close out tincore. Plus, the 2 triggers buttons R2 and L2 are unusable in tincore.
Most of times, I learned how to use apps by tinking around for about a few minutes. I have been playing around with Tincore for a week now and still clueless about how to use it. wish there was a dumb-down tutorial on it.

Smartwatch SW2 and Android 2.3.x

Hi, I have Smartwatch MN2 and looking on SW2. My phone is Xperia Play with Android 2.3.7 - I don't want to update to 4.0+, cause gaming with Xplay on ICS+ is horrible. I know that officialy is everywhere written you need Android 4.0+, but I want to know if watches cannot connect to Android 2.3 and really need ICS+ or if they could be connect well but some features and apps don't work on GB. I'm going to buy new phone in about a year or two probably, but now I still want my old Xplay cause playing on touchpads which is built into phone is simply ingenious
Try to download the official app from the playstore . If it works you could have a chance.
I think that there will be some things you can do because some bluetooth things were changed at 4.x. and a lot things are running at your phone , because the apps are running on your phone and not at your SW
Maybe you could try the SW at you your local store?

Might be time to upgrade....
So after half an year I bought them and tried it. Smartwatches connect to the phone via bluetooth without any problem but then you need Smartconnect aplication (for GB is only Liveware which is for MN2 and older) and app right for SW2 (Smartwatch SW2 in play store) - in GB play store you can download only Smartwatch app (for MN2). So there is no HW problem, only SW. I flashed ICS rom and Smartwatches working fine - but 512MB RAM with ICS and Smartwatches connected is horrible - gaming is immposible. I want try take Smartconnect and Smartwatch 2 apks and push it to GB but I thing it will not work.
