Here is the MODDED LGKeyguard.apk for the lock screen weather effects on a LG G3 F400K with the 10G software. It may be compatible with other version but I am only able to test with what I have.
Requires Root Access!
Instruction: Download and extract apk to phone somewhere you no where to find it. Backup the old LGKeyguard.apk and LGKeyguard.ODEX.
1)----->Install the Modded apk in th system/priv-app and set permission rw-r--r-- or permissions 644.
2)----->Next delete the LGKeyguard.odex from the system/priv-app and reboot phone.
3)----->Should get the optimizing/upgrading on reboot and hopefully weather effects on lock screen.
4)----->Make sure you have sync on and a weather widget somewhere as it seems to require them to work.(See post #34)
Thanks. Working well on D855 V10J .

İt works on V10İ and V10E thanks mate.
By the way never try the keyguard.apk in this page on v10x versions it gives the systemui.error and you can't do anything on homescreen.

It is just the stock lock screen with all the weather animations enabled. So it looks just like stock but has the cloudy, sunshine, etc.

If you are talking about the LGKeyguard.apk this does not effect your status bar or home/search/return bar, only the lock screen. You would need to check your settings in the display area I think which has like 4 options for what you are describing I believe. It is possible it resest to default but I believe white was the default for home bar. The status bar would not be selectable that I know of unless you modified framework(i.e. Xposed).
so does this stay on the lockscreen? on my phone right now i see the clouds or sun fade in then fade out and thats it

Yes, that is the way it works. The cloudy animation was previously turned off. The animations only display once when you turn the phone on and you see the lock screen. The also reflect what the weather is available thru the weather app/widget.

Took backup of existing LGKeyguard apk and odex file from /system/priv-app folder.
Removed both files.
Added the LGKeyguard.apk file from the attachment in OP and set the permissions to 644 and rebooted.
No weather on lockscreen
I am using D855 indian version and currently rooted on 10i.
Yes, the weather animation box is ticked in display settings under lockscreen.
Any advice as to what could be the problem or if i did anything in correctly and what i can do to fix???

I am assuming you place the unzipped LGkeyguard.apk in the same directory system/priv-app so, did you get the android optimizing apps when rebooted? Also make sure when setting permissions the sticky bit is off some folks miss that, depends on what tool you are using to set the permissions. One last thing might be are you using a when widget on the phone and is it working correctly...might want to open it and refresh it just in case. I do not have that specific phone but assuming you see a lockscreen at all tells me most likely it is working to some degree, or it may not but compatible with the software version completely. Might also try to deselect the weather animation box then reboot and then recheck it maybe if you have not tried that. Maybe someone else with the same model/software version might have more info.
Good Luck!
Thanks for your response mate.
I am using file manager app. It does nit show info on sticky keys etc. Which app do you recommend i use?
I shall try doing the few jugglings you have mentioned. Hoping it can work out.

You could try the app "Screen Off and Lock" from the Market, not quite as slick as the real thing since it doesn't map to the power button, but not bad in the meantime!

How do you replace the old framework-res.apk ?
I've tried Root Explorer with no success... The file is read only.
Click the little mount r/o button then try to paste it
Your phone will restart and when it comes back on, this and battery percentage should both work

Much more simpler to do than explaining it ...
Thanks to tr.supradeep for it post ... if you have root make like this ... it works on all rom and all themes ... better than flashing someone framework.res.apk that can stuck your phone in bootloop ...
FOR THOSE WHO JUST WANT TO ENABLE CRT ANIMATION WITHOUT CHANGING THEME IN CODEROM:
Just follow the steps given below regarding build.prop and probably if there is no mistake then it should work.
How to enable CRT animation:
1. Pull out "build.prop" using adb or copy it to your comp using Root Explorer. Modify it as suggested ahead. It resides in /system/build.prop .
2. Open build.prop and modify one(or two on coderomnexus) of the line.
'debug.sf.hw=1' is the line in the file. Replace it by '#debug.sf.hw=1'. Indirectly you are just changing the line into a comment by adding a #.
3. Now take this file and replace your original build.prop. You can do this by using adb or root explorer it doesnt matter.
4. Now apply any of the themes provided below using the steps given above.
5. Reboot phone.
NOTE: If the CRT animation is not working after reboot then reapply theme after you have modified your build.prop and try to reboot and see. And also enable all animations or some animations in Settings->Display->Animation for CRT animation to work.
NOTE: If you cannot follow the instructions given here please follow the link given below.
Video for Instructions to enable CRT animation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp6RsSZ4X2w
Credit for the Video: GadgetCheck (Thank you very much GadgetCheck )
Hope this works for all of you.
Any problems please comment. And i do hope many other developers use my theme and make newer or older theme with the CRT animation enabled as i cannot do it all by myself.
Please click Thanks if this post helped you.

Modified framework-res.apk for KK1
I had modified framework-res.apk with the animation turned on only for KK1 per attachment. Just replace the one in /system/framework.
jcklau.
U mind giving telling me what files to replace in framework-res.
I got a heavily modded framework that I dont want to loose. It would be easier if I just recompile ur xml into my framework rather than the other way round.
What xml did u edit.?
And any additional files?
Also, is it both crt on and off... or only off effect?
Thnx a million.
I edited res/values/bools.xml
Changed "<bool name="config_animateScreenLights">true</bool>" to "<bool name="config_animateScreenLights">false</bool>"
Hope it helps.

My first thread in this forum. Completely transparent widget extracted from another rom.
http://www.fileserve.com/file/2Qg75sB/SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk
Best way to install it is to get root explorer, go to system / apps and rename the existing SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk to SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk.bak as a backup in case you decide you want to go back to the stock widget. Now paste the downloaded file into the same location, go to the homescreen and add the widget. It should appear transparent.
Hope it helps.
Currently tested and working on cassies LA6 ultralight rom v8.

the caps 'LGK' doesn't matter... mine are lowercase, no issue. also you don't need the odex file from the download, when you reboot the phone will make it's own odex file.
it should also be noted that if you lock your screen prior to rebooting then systemui will crash constantly which will make it difficult to do anything but pull the battery.
other than that, you're spot on

Do you need to have the weather widget running? Do you have to have Weather animation checked on in Lockscreen settings?
I am asking because every time I try to check the checkbox in lockscreen settings it tells me I need to change refresh interval in Weather settings, takes me over there to change it, then when I come back the check box is unchecked. I am not getting anything on the Lockscreen as far as weather goes.
Maybe some app out of the bloat that I de-bloated needs to be put back in?
Anyone has any ideas?
Thanks,
Work but other problems arose...
After I applied this fix, but I could no longer use my HOME and APPS buttons afterwards! There were also other strange behavior like the LOCKSCREEN would no longer even show up after I shut the phone off!
I removed the fix to get things back to normal...
Too bad!

You can rename them to .apk.bak, or in my case, .apk2. As long as the file extension is changed, the file will not be read as though it is the original file
Is the modified odex file completely necessary for this process? I renamed both the apk and odex files, replaced the apk with the modified one and got weather animations after the first reboot. Should I bother replacing the odex file still?

Hello again everybody!
So today I have a way for you to modify themes that are from official samsung theme Store, the method is hard and it does take a lot of time so bare with me.
First of all you will need a rooted device, obviously lol
Also you will need to have, root explorer and xploer. Now for the stepes:
1- Open root explorer and go to Data > App
2- You will see many many folders for the theme, in my case I will modify something in the home screen so the folder should have your theme name and then home and the end like this ( minuhome.FranceParis.home-1 )
3- Open the folder you will find an apk called base.apk
3- copy that apk and paste To somewhere else
4- Open explore and find the copied Base.apk
5- modify the things you want, for an example I changed the folder Look, I took a folder icon, renamed it To .qmg instead of .jpg then renamed that icon exactly like the folder icon For the theme, then deleted That old One and replaced it with the new one. ( do the same with any icon you want in any base.apk)
6- Open root explorer, take the new modified base.apk and replace it with the old one, set permissions And then reboot.
If it didn't work On the first time then apply the theme then apply another theme And then apply the theme again.
This may not be the best way, but it's the only way to modify them so far.
Do not copy my method on any place without my permission!! Thank you.

I have been able to use another themes icon pack with success, however when I use another theme's "InCallUI" (accept, reject, hangup icons in phone dialer) I cannot get them to stick. They will stay for a duration then default back to the Samsung goofy cartoon icons. I know that restarting phone triggers the reset but it also randomly triggers without restart. I can get them back by applying another theme then re-applying my theme....but a bit of a pain to have to do everytime!
What I have done, as per your instructions, is taken the "InCallUI.apk" out of theme's "base.apk", edited it and replaced. I have also placed that same edited InCallUI.apk into; Data > Overlays > Style > mytheme folder, then changed permissions to "rwx r-- r-w". I use these permission because all the other apk's in this folder use them.
Any advise or corrections in what I'm doing would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

1. It doesnt have pixel round icons.
2. The blue accented color doesnt seem to be the exact same color as present in the pixel. Its a bit light in shade.

Sure and thanks for a lot for telling.
I'll try fixing it.
I'm sorry but while you're at it can you make a seperate zip with only white animated nav bar and blue framework-res? Reason being I already installed other mods and I fear some that you have included might clash with mods I've installed. Sorry if it's a hassle on your part. Thank you in advance.

Removing folders from the zip is very easy. Just extract it, delete what you think might clash and zip it all back together.

I don't have to touch the script at all right? I'll try and do that. Thank you!

Pixel's Colors
Thank you so much for working on this, theLazyGeek!
For those interested in Pixel's Dark Blue colors, I had decompiled, edited and re-compiled the framework-res.apk for myself and am sharing it here.
All it does it change the system, settings and keyboard colors to match the Pixel's dark blue - no other things are touched.
Steps: copy and paste in /system/. Change permissions to 644.
Paste in /system/framework/ (replace the original one). Do a soft-reboot. Voila!
Only works on Nexus5X running NPF10C.
Edit: It seems I cannot post URLs since I'm a new user! Can anyone recommend how I can share the file with those who need it?
Thanks!

Can you please elaborate the steps to replace the framework-res.apk as I am scared to try it out
Thanks!
At this stage, I feel you have two options:
1. Wait for theLazyGeek (OP) to post the new zip file which you can flash from a recovery. He said he'll be putting this up soon.
2. If you can't wait, you can even take the framework-res apk file and put it in the framework folder in the original ZIP (in the first post of this thread) and flash that to get the dark blue color.
Make sure you make a Nandroid before either, though. Strongly recommended! :good:

I've flashed other mods like the pixel mod and the google assistant build.prop tweak. At this stage I only need the pixel's dark blue accent to complete my pixelised nexus 5x.
So please tell me how to replace the stock framework-res.apk with the custom apk.
I am using root explorer.
