Dude, first understand that the procedure to cook a ROM is same for all mobile brands having android (maybe except HTC)....what matters, is the processor and RAM of the phone....You can take any custom or stock ROM of the phone having same specs as a base and modify it to cook your ROM.....in short, mobile brand name doesn't matter....
1st link contains tutorial about using android kitchen and other tools to cook a ROM.....the heading clearly says "[UltimateGUIDE][How-to]Create your Own Custom ROM an easy way|Android Secrets -_-"
There is no brand name written, like samsung or sony even in the tutorial.....AND XR650 ROM is cooked by using this same guide.....you can check the thread 1st page to confirm....
sorry, i posted same link for 2nd & 3rd by mistake......that link contains LIST of various tutorials like flashing a rom, porting other roms (like PA, CM, SENSE, etc).....it also contains tutorials on compiling, decompiling, modifying APKs, boot animations, and LOT MORE.....
And here is 3rd link......this also contains LIST of various tutorials.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721539
please check all these 3 links once again.....
Thanks friend

I came across a post in some website which claims that we can port any MTK ROMs from one device to another MTK device just by replacing some files on the ROM that we want to port with that of the ones in our stock rom. Is it possible?

It's almost right.
You need same MTK board (mt6577 is not mt6589) and both devices has same screen resolution it helps.
read about port rom

i think you need to have your bootloader unlocked so that you have root access.
otherwise i don't think it will copy the custom boot logo file over to the phone.
Edit: ok maybe i am wrong ?
http://www.xda-developers.com/change-the-boot-logo-on-the-moto-x-without-root/
That shows a similar phone doing it with out root.
can you make a bootlogo of this

This is a boot animation I made in a few days and wanted to share with you guys. All of the instructions on how to use it are in the readme.txt file with the download.
This animation was tested on my Galaxy S8 (hence posting ot in this forum), but it can work on any device.
Feel free to contact me if you need any help and hope you like it like I do!
EDIT: I've lowered the fps of the animation slightly so it should loom a bit more normal now

I installed it as a zip file and it worked. Maybe because I have a custom rom installed ?
Hello guys,
Definitely changing the bootanimation is one of the coolest customizations in rooted android devices. But this is going to be a little complicated when you have a Samsung phone, as Samsung uses QMG format for bootanimations. Recently I was trying to understand how the QMG format works, and how to make one for myself. First I should thank Nonta72, for his/her valuable guide [Here] on making QMG bootanimations using Samsung Theme Designer, and also a big thank to KachowPow, for providing a big collection of ready-to-use QMG bootanimations [Here], as well as explaining how to use them. I was interested in one of these QMG bootanimations, named "Pissing on Apple" (by JaeKar99), but the provided link was not available anymore. So I decided to use Nonta72 guide and make my own QMG bootanimation.
Here I provide my favorite [Pissing on Apple] bootanimation with QMG format (remade by myself, but the credit is for JaeKar99),
You can download this bootanimation in QMG format from Here. If you don't know how to use QMG files, please read the provided guide by KachowPow, Here.
Pissing on Apple by JaeKar99.
Your browser is not able to display this video.
Finally, this is my first post on XDA, please tell me if my mentioning or giving credits was wrong. And sorry for my bad English.
I appreciate your work, I have used it for a long time but recently I just tried to download it again but the link is down, could you please re-upload it
