Current Status of my TF700:
-Boot looping with Asus "Inspiring Innovation - Persisten Perfection" logo. Approximately 5 seconds between reboots, with a vibrate every time it reboots.
-It says "Device is Unlocked" in the top left.
-Holding power for a long time (over 20s) will shut it off, and vibrate, but then it immediately vibrates again and resumes the bootloop.
-I cannot get it into the bootloader with Power + Vol Down. That combination does nothing.
-If I use the pinhole button, as long as I hold it, the screen remains blank. As soon as I release it again, the bootloop resumes immediately.
-It does not get to the second "shiny" Asus logo.
-It doesn't get far enough to recognize a new firmware file on the microSD card.
How I got to this point:
Stock ever since I bought it up until a few days ago. I decided it was time to root, unlock, install TWRP, and install CWM. I never got that far.
1. I unlocked first. I believe it was successful because it has said "Device is Unlocked" ever since.
2. I tried to root with the debugfs method. It reported it was successful, but despite several attempts, it was unsuccessful.
3. I tried using GooManager to install TWRP. It never worked.
4. I discovered that I wasn't running the latest Asus firmware. I then upgraded it. It ran successfully. (V10.6.1.14.10)
5. I tried rooting with Motochopper. It reported success. But it didn't work. I then discovered it wouldn't work with V10.6.1.14.10.
6. I then tried installing TWRP via fastboot. It reported success, but Power+VolDown didn't get me into TWRP. Nothing seemed to load TWRP. In case it's relevant, I was having trouble where Windows was saying there was a problem with the Bootloader Interface Driver, and after several reboots, I was able to get fastboot to reportedly load TWRP. It reported success, but I never saw TWRP.
7. I booted into Recovery, the latest version that said something to the effect of, "USB recovery loaded" or something, with 3 icons: RCK, Android, and Wipe Data. This is the only recovery I was ever able to see, by the way. I then selected "Wipe Data" hoping it would give me a new starting point.
Once it rebooted, it has been stuck in this bootloop. Have I royally screwed myself, or is there a way to recover?
Please ask any questions, I will answer them to the best of my ability. In the meantime, I will hope to run the power down on the tablet in the hopes it will make a difference.

Power+VolDown activates the bootloader menu - this is the screen with the 3 icons, where you can use fastboot. Since you needed to go there to install TWRP via fastboot, you should have known that Power+VolDown doesn't get you into TWRP - you'd have to press VolUp in the bootloader menu, to activate RCK.

Selecting "Wipe data" from the bootloader menu with a broken recovery is the best known way to brick a TF700. This can only be recovered via nvflash, which you can't use since you never got far enough to extract the required files from your tablet while it still worked. Your only option now is a new mainboard.
Well, crap. RCK never did anything except show a loading bar then reboot.

Hi all. I have been trying to update my VS980 to Lollipop for a week now; I've tried absolutely everything I can think of / find in the forums, and nothing works.
The basic problem is this: I have a rooted (via Stump Root) Verizon G2 running stock 4.4.2. I wanted to upgrade it to Lollipop, so I unrooted with SuperSU and tried to OTA update it, but somehow it still knows it was once rooted, so the OTA fails. I have tried MANY things to fix/work around this, but here are the highlights:
Hard reset. The hard reset procedure completed ok, but when I try to then install the OTA update, it fails with "Err: 1117008." Settings -> About Phone still shows "Status: Rooted," even though I don't actually have root control anymore.
Use LG FLash Tool to flash back to factory stock: VS980011A_01.tot. Tried two different computers, using both Vista and Windows 10. Failed because the proper LGE Mobile USB Serial Port driver was never found/installed by Windows (despite it clearly working in the video).
Copied a text file called RCT_security containing "forel.lee" onto the SD card, b/c somehow that's supposed to reset the status to "unrooted." It didn't.
Re-rooted with Stump Root, manually installed TWRP to try to flash a ROM that way. Phone is now rooted again, but attempts to boot into recovery result in "secure boot error," and no TWRP.
Installed Quick Boot to boot directly into recovery. Fails with same "secure boot error."
Installed FreeGee and TWRP Manager, b/c now I'm just grasping at straws. FreeGee hangs on a black screen and does nothing. TWRP Manager tells me that TWRP is already installed; haven't tried using it to flash a new ROM from here, b/c that feels brickish.
Use AutoRec to fix the "secure boot error." Fails b/c running AutoRec results in it hanging at "checking for loki....installing," When I backed out after many minutes, I got an error that said "Tried to install Loki Tool, no luck."
I am out of ideas. I am pulling my hair out. The phone is working fine, except that it's stuck on 4.4.2. When I started, all I wanted was a working version of Lollipop, even if it was stock/unrooted. At this point, I'm so mad at Verizon/LG/Android for making this process so painful that I really just want to flash the latest CyanogenMod just for spite. But really -- I'll take anything.

VICTORY IS MINE. Here's what I did:
I decided to focus on the LG Flash Tool as my best potential for a successful outcome, and I further decided to focus on the LG drivers, which didn't seem be installing properly. So:
Nuked my computer and installed a fresh version of Windows 10, to ensure no errant drivers were present.
Installed LG United drivers from the top of this page: [link deleted b/c xda won't let me post it] (LG VZW_United_WHQL_v2.16.1.exe)
Connected the phone in Media Sync mode and waited while Windows installed some more drivers.
Connected the phone in Internet Connection -> Ethernet mode and waited while Windows installed yet more Drivers. (I think this may be the step I missed in all previous attempts; once this was done, the correct LG driver appeared in Device Manager.)
Installed LG Flash Tool 2014 (download link in the description of the below video).
Followed the instructions in this video: [link deleted b/c xda won't let me post it] ...
... to install VS98027A_05.kdz, which I found somewhere, but now can't remember where. But it's around.
Once all those elements were in place, it worked perfectly. Got a completely stock phone, just like the day I bought it. Immediately installed 3 software updates and am now on Lollipop.
I'm still not sure which parts of this puzzle mattered and which didn't, but I *think* the key was installing those specific drivers (and not the many other versions of the same that I came across while researching), and THEN connecting the phone in MTP mode (ethernet) -- because that's when I finally had the correct drivers appear in Device Manager. Once I got there, the LG Flash Tool worked the first time.
Right. I hope this helps someone. I lost two weeks of my life to this (and a perfectly good CentOS box).
Last thing: download mode for me doesn't work quite the way anyone describes it. I have to turn it off, hold the UP volume button, plug it in, then let go of the UP button briefly and then hold it down AGAIN. No one mentions that last part.
Hello, I need serious help with my phone.
So, after a long while of having my phone rooted, and had a case of boot loop with twrp, I decided to go back to stock os and hung up the root days. I thought i did it right by getting a stock os and flashed it, and it worked for couple months, until yesterday.
My phone keeps going into Cyanogen Recovery, I tried rebooting so many times, once it did boot up to OS, but it went back after i restarted phone or it died.
Now I can't no longer get back, I thought factory resetting will work but it didn't. (Tried both wipe cache partition and Full factory reset option from the recovery) I found unroot your phone toolkits, thinking it could help fix my problem and just unroot/ give me back to OS (I wished i found this before flashing that custom stock rom).
But the toolkit doesn't work for me, it finds adb devices, but it cant find fast boot devices, because my phone cant even go into fast boot.
I tried manual, and the option from the recovery, it keeps going back to recovery. I have an option for apply update, and then apply from ADB, that was the only way for my pc to recognize my phone from adb devices. Any clues on how to fix?

Hmm I'm still having trouble because, I can't get into fast boot for some reason. It's keep going back to Cyanogen recovery. It has the option to reload into bootloader, but goes into cyanogen recovery again.
There is an option in dev options, uncheck the "update cyanogen recovery" and flash twrp again

Hello, i've bought this Samsung SM-T210 like 3 years ago, i rooted it as soon as i got it and after a year or so i decided to go back to factory settings cos of too many trash files anyway as far as i can remember i've select the wipe data or somethin and it got stuck on "Boot Loop" thingy only samsung logo comes up over and over again till i turn it off so i have tried every single solution that i can find on google and forums best i could do was getting it out of boot loop, now it just directly boots into TWRP and i can not do anything over there can't install any roms nothing whenever i try to install somethin it just gives me bunch of errors with cant find cache, data etc . i saw people had same problem and they got solutions by installing a new os, rom whatever it's called, i know how to follow the instructions but those solutions about my problem didn't help at all, now after a year i've decided to fix it again do u guys have any other solutions about this ? i'm waiting for it the charge up gonna list the errors i get on each section of twrp. :crying: :crying: :crying:
When i press (power+home) i'm only getting a text on bottom left corner says POWER UPLOAD REASON: POWER KEY H/W REVISION : 0.3
(vlm down+power+home) only gets me to the black screen nothing comes up

I don't understand.
You're saying that you successfully flashed it with your firmware and it started working. Does this mean you don't have an issue now? Or is there still a problem?

yea i couldnt even open up the download mode it was saying RUN RDX TOOL but i just ignored whatever it says and tried to install it with odin till it succeeds after a few tries it just completed the installation and simply started to running.

This is an S7 I bought from a Best Buy when I visited the US in 2017, and I got the Unlocked version so I would be able to use it back in my home country. Unfortunately, this is the second time I've had trouble with it in a span of 4 months and the first time it was a hardware problem and ended up quite expensive to get fixed.
Today I was using my phone normally when I decided to use the Google instant translation to translate something on my computer screen. That caused my phone to freeze, restart, and then tell me I was using an unauthorized flash and it was going to be locked, or something like that. Even after restarting a few more times, the phone would never get past that screen. I proceeded to factory reset/cache reset and from then on the phone just got stuck in a boot loop.
I learned that the fix would be to flash the phone. After a lot of work I found the G930UUESACSI1-20190930144640 firmware (the XAA version, for Unlocked) and successfully used Odin 3.13 at the Download Mode screen to flash my phone. It then restarted, went back to the blue screen, started installing some updates, when it was 100% it restarted again. Unfortunately, the loop remained. Galaxy S7 logo first, then the Samsung logo, then it just repeats.
I have also tried turning the phone off with the Recovery screen shut down option (since I can't seem to be able to turn it off with the power button right now), wait a few minutes, then turn it back on. Nothing changed.
Please, does anyone have any insight into this? What else could I possibly try, or what could I be doing wrong? I really don't want to send it to repair yet again in such a short time.

You need to clear the cache after flashing to get out of the boot loop.
Use the download key combo to restart. As soon as the screen goes black move to Volume up+home+power.
In the recovery menu choose clear/ Wipe cache, then choose reboot.
I apologize for not updating this thread before when it was still recent. The fact is that I didn't manage to fix my phone; clearing the cache after flashing did nothing to stop the loop.
I ended up taking the phone to the people who have fixed it in the past and after more than one month, they gave up. So I got my phone back and I want to try to give it another go before I just sell it for parts.
Unfortunately, my phone has come back even worse. Now it has no Recovery Menu to speak of, at least none that I can access; after a few seconds of the blue text on the top saying that it's entering recovery mode, it then proceeds to a blue screen saying: "Security Error: This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software and is locked.". I can still access Download Mode.
I have attempted flashing a few firmwares that I believe should have worked with my SM-G930U. Odin listed the attempts as "pass" and, after restarting and going back to the Download screen, it says the binary is Official. However, after trying to restart the phone normally, it starts displaying the blue screen again, and then, after going to Download mode, the binary is reverted to "Custom".
I believe right now the order of the day is to get the recovery menu to work again so I can do all the cache cleaning that seems to be required after flashing firmware. Any ideas at all on how I should proceed? Is there something specific I should download to fix the recovery menu?
How many files are you flashing in Odin, is it just 1 file in the AP slot, or 4 files: AP, BL, etc.? Also, is your phone rooted?

Never rooted, was using the phone legit before it froze and entered boot loop. I flashed all 4 files, multiple times.
Someone tried fixing my phone a few days after I replied to this thread and some progress seems to have been made, but now the phone cannot get past a black screen with a "SBL Error! rdx_init!" in red text, and "upload mode" in yellow text. Still cannot access Recovery Mode, but Download Mode still works.
I did a little Googling on rdx_init errors and it seems I need a firmware dump from another G930U or something like that...any ideas on how I can proceed?
Flash it with Eng Boot in all slots using patched Odin. Reboot to recovery and wipe it. Reboot system. Then root it with advanced adb root. Links for all of this are here in xda. Enjoy

Sorry, I'm not an expert at this by any means, I'm not sure what files to get. So far I've found and downloaded the following:
S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root_V10
S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root_V12
S7_Oreo_Su_Binary_Only_ADB_Root
But I had no luck flashing any of these cause my binary is 10. Is there any more help you can provide me? I really don't know how to proceed

I thought I had one in my phone, but I don't. If you look at the thread where you downloaded the Root_V12, you will see it. It's near the end of the thread somewhere.
