Use the leak kernel and the wifi fix.

Odd thing happened today. I was testing out the EOS cornerstone new rom and was having issues with WiFi so I restored my Stock ICS setup but now I can not enable the WiFi.
The WiFi icon is greyed out on the settings tab and I can not swipe the WiFi to on in the settings app.
Has anyone seen this before? Did the WiFi die?
Just flash the ROM you were using again without any wipe. (Flash the ROM that your backup is base upon)
It seems the backup has the HC version of the wifi. I flashed the other rom again and the wifi is working fine.
Thanks.
Same Problem

Just flash Revolver ROM again, no wipe needed
I installed the AOSP test build of ICS, now I too am having wifi issues. I saw the ROM had it listed that there was a bug with the wifi so I didn't think much of it at first. I then installed Android Revolution but now the wifi still doesn't work.
I accidentally deleted my backup ROM..
Tablet says no MAC address found, and wifi settings app just hangs when trying to turn on.. I've re-flashed numerous times.. I've formatted all the partitions, re-flashed again....
Any ideas?
I had to flash the rom again (EOS cornerstone) and the wifi started working. I just ended up flashing the stock ICS from the asus site to start freh again.
It seems like the backup in CWM does something strange with the wifi driver.
I'm start a new thread here.

I reflashed EOS, wifi works, but i now have a different MAC address than I did before.
Hi,
So I got my first problem while flashing today, have played with roms and things on my s3 a few times and dispute being a noob never had any bad experiences.
Earlier today I decided to root my note 10.1 gt-n8010 (uk) which also went fine and no problems, I then decided to try a custom Rom after I wasn't that impressed with the ota jelly bean 4.1.1 update and flashed resurrection Rom with the jelly bean 4.1.2 via cwm to see how that stacked up. However on the first time I ran it I noticed I couldn't connect to my WiFi anymore, I rebooted my note to see if that would help but it didn't.
I can get into the WiFi menu ok and fill in my WiFi code ok, but them just get a message saying 'failed to connect to WiFi'
So has anyone else had this problem or know of fix for it because as you can imagine is quite annoying, if there is nothing I guess I have to flash another Rom?
Thanks in advance guy's, I appreciate any advice
I would suggest flashing CyanogenMod nightly, it has the latest Adndroid version 4.2.1 and it has very few bugs.
Suggest wipe and flash .
Redemption works UK wiFi .

I installed a newer version of Ultimate HD for the Sony Xperia Arc/s, Link here.
And after that my Wifi didn't work anymore, so I searched around for hours and eventually updated my kernel which was Lupus v10, and now is v16 link
It says in the thread "Wifi is build in NO NEED for WIFI MODULES.ZIP" So I flashed that and then installed Ultimate HD again and still have no wifi now, it just keeps saying Connecting..
I would be very grateful if one of you guys can help me out!, thanks.
Sander.
That seems like something to do with some bug in ROM...
Q 4: My WiFi doesn't work. What can I do?
A: Flash WiFi Modules for your Kernel. If you are on stock kernel, reflash stock WiFi Modules. If you use Lupus, reflash the kernel and make sure you have a few mb left on the /system partition. If that, doesn't work, reflash the ROM and Check MD5 Sums.

Reflash back the stock ROM and see if WiFi works.. if it works, you better flash some other custom rom rather than This,....
@Mikyno
First of all, big thanks for your work, your ROM is great!
Now, to the questions part. First time I upgraded to Gnabo Rom V2 from stock 4.1.2, and I did't change bootloader. I just flashed from CWR Gnabo V2 ROM + SU, so after the reboot Wi-Fi detected networks but couldn't connect. Then I flashed Wi-Fi-Fix for N8013 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...7&d=1401120355) and everything was fixed and worked almost perfectly (could not start(find) Wi-Fi-access point to share 3G-internet).
Now, as V3 was released, I tried the same route, but it was different from the start - I couldn't even activate Wi-Fi, and above-mentioned Fix did nothing.
Questions are:
1) Do I have to update the bootloader to make Wi-Fi work with V3 ?
2) What version of bootloader I need to use for my N8000 ?
3) Will it be possible to downgrade(restore from backup) back to 4.1.2 with the new bootloader ?
4) Will it be possible to restore the old stock bootloader after using the new one ?
5) Does Wi-Fi access point work on Gnabo V3 ?
1) No you do not need to update bootloader
But you do need to install the WiFi fix and also the kernel for v3 in order to allow the wifi to work.

Thanks for the answer.
In the Gnabo V3 topic there is a link to kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2764247&d=1401120355) , but it somehow confusing: the file name states, that it is for N8000 (Stock-GT-N8000-leaked-KK-Boot.img-CWR-installer.zip), but then there's a description for this link there, and it says "Kernel for N8013 (and N8010 maybe?)".
In the Gnabo ROM topic people always mention this link for N8010 and N8013 ... Is it OK to use that kernel for N8000 ?
Also, please help me understand - flashing the kernel is only affecting the ROM-part ? If I flash it, will it be possible to restore old backups (made from CWR) ? It's the "Boot.img" part of the file name that bothers me. I somehow afraid that if it changes bootloader it will be impossible to restore from older backups (made with the stock loader). I really hope that my concerns are unfounded, but I'd like to be sure

That is correct. You can use the kernel for N8010. I do also have the N8010 but somehow it is "shown as" N8013...
Lately, I'm experiencing a lot of problems with my Xperia L. For one, when I turn on Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, the phone just hangs for about five minutes before finally activating them. The same case applies to when I activate a wireless hotspot on my device. When I tap on 'enable wireless tethering', the phone completely hangs. This has really started getting on my nerves! :crying:
Also, when I capture multiple photos from my camera, I'm finding that some images are automatically rotated. I have to manually rotate them, which, of course, is no child's play.
Another issue that I'm facing is that the phone's gotten a bit unresponsive. It doesn't fire up applications like it previously did (not that I have many apps installed too. Just 4).
All this has got me thinking, was the Xperia L a waste of money? No firmware upgrades coupled with tons of bugs!
Should I risk it and go for a custom ROM? I really need some advice, fellow users! Please reply as soon as possible! :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

It seems like you are on Stock ROM. If you have not done it already, try do a factory reset i know its not an easy task but it may bring your happy days back. If you are not a big Fan of Sony UI you can try Many KitKat ROMS that are available updated with Latest sources 4.4.4.
Very soon we might have almost Bug Free KitKat Custom ROM's, Its your wish to Flash a Custom ROM. (Losing Warranty)

I Also have this problem with WIFI and Bluetooth. Cant switch em on. I was on 4.2.2 update...
At first WIFI & BT are fine. About 2 weeks ago it starts restarting. When I'm lucky enough to reach inside the Setting and use phone for sometime, I tried to turn on wifi... Phone hangs... then restart.. Sometimes it takes several "auto" restart before i can operate the phone. But after those, everytime I turn on WIFI.. it hang/restart. Also happen w/ bluetooth.
I tried flashing/downgrade to 4.1.2 stock rom w/ flashtool. The restarting stopped/fixed... BUT, there's no way I can turn on wifi. i keeps switched off everytime i tried.
Finally, I installed CM11 kitkat cw. Everything looks new and fine ans smooth.. BUT... still cannot switch on wifi! and bluetooth!! >.<
I dont know what to do. Is this a hardware problem?? or is there a fix/zip i can flash to fix this??
HELP.

I resolved the issue! It's going to sound extremely silly, but it worked wonders for me.
Basically, I deleted all downloaded apps that require a 'Full internet access' permission (The one with the WiFi icon), and viola! WiFi and Bluetooth work wonders now. I noticed this problem when I uninstalled Cleaner Master, and WiFi and Bluetooth jumped to life.
This is, however, a major setback. I can now download only a limited number of apps..
But hey, at least WiFi and Bluetooth work, so I've got that going, which is nice...
Any reasons why this may be happening guys?

You should perform a clean install of latest stock ftf. Looks like there's a problem with your kernel too. So flashing will put a new life to your phone. Remember to do clean install of firmware including kernel and wipe data alongwith resetting customizations.
