[Q] Stock ROM: "network or sim card error" when enabling Incoming Calls when Roaming - HTC One S

[Q] Stock ROM: "network or sim card error" when enabling Incoming Calls when Roaming
No matter what I try to set in the "call barring settings" menu, I get a "network or sim card error". Does anyone know how to get this working? I am not even sure what the password is, but I have tried 0000 1111, 2222, etc, and 1234, 0123.
Help!!! The only thing left for me to try is a factory reset, and if I'm going to go through that pain, I might as well do it with a newer model phone.

I have the same, but not in roaming. I try to turn on flight mode and again turn off. After that all works fine.

[Q] Network or SIM card error.

If I flash any custom ROM that is not built on the stock/ota my phone appears to have some problems with the SIM card.
Specifically, if I go into settings->call settings->advanced it gives an error reading "Network or SIM card error." then it kicks me back to call settings, preventing me from making any changes.
This is a problem because I need to change the "my phone number" setting. If I go to settings->about phone->status it shows "unknown" under "my phone number" which in turn causes the phone to not associate my own contact entry with the phone, and it also causes problems for checking voicemail.
Strangely enough, I am still able to make phone calls, sent sms/mms, and connect to mobile data with no problem, so obviously the SIM card is working and is being read by the phone.
I would suspect that it is a problem with the SIM card, but if I flash back to stock, the problem goes away.
Any ideas anyone?

That happens with me also, running cm7 rom. But that`s not really an issue because there are not important settings over there. If you change any settings before the message pops up , settings will be saved after you exit the menu. Nothing to worry about- your phone and sim are fine:good:

Cannot enable call forwarding

I cannot enable call forwarding on my stock LG G3. When i go to "call settings", "additional settings" "call forwarding" I get an error message: "Network or SIM card error".
This AC thread is for the Note 4, but it illustrates the same problem I'm having with my AT&T G3.
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-4/504466-someone-please-help-cannot-forward-calls.html
I tried a soft reset, but this didn't do anything. I plan to go to the corporate store tonight after work, but just curious if anyone else on AT&T with the G3 has had the same issue.
Solved! A factory reset and new SIM card did nothing so I went to the regional AT&T repair center. They removed it from the network on the back end, changed some settings, put it back on the network, refreshed the phone and now call forwarding can be enabled and works as it should.

SIM was not working anymore "invalid network mode" - what happened there?

Hello
A few weeks ago, I did something stupid.
I went into the *#*#4636#*#* app, phone info and pressed some of the buttons.
I think the button was "cellinfostrate <number>", altough I am not sure, but it was a button there.
After pressing it I lost the mobile connection. I couldnt get it up anymore, the SIM card was not working anymore even in another phone (LG G3). I think it was an IMEI problem, but not sure. I got errors like "invalid network mode -1" in the cell network settings.
I got an exchange for the SIM and it is working again.
But the question: What happened there? Why did the SIM was not working anymore?

Google Pixel 2 : Invalid Card - Emergency Calls Only

Hello,
Since I update my pixel 2 (February 2020) my phone cant get into mobile network. on the notification bar displayed 'Invalid Sim - Emergency Calls Only' while on notification center said 'No simcard'. When I try to put the simcard to another phone its worked just fine.
I already tried to hard reset my phone and change another simcard to put in my Pixel 2 but the result remained 'Invalid Card'
When I go to Setting > Network & Internet it just display an option to 'Add a network'
I tried to proceed by tapping the option and it bring me to a page where I can download the esim and I trying to download it whatsoever and it give me an error said Network not active and give EID number to be referred to my network operator carrier.
I think this is not an issue with my carrier. It is hardware issues. please if somebody know how to help this, i literally tried everything to fix my device. or should I just wait for the next update? will they fix it?

Hi!
The same thing happened to me, I couldn't send messages or call until I activated the automatic network mode, otherwise it wouldn't let me call.
I hope I have been helpful with this.

The same problem happened to me, i tried everything..
The only thing that fixed it is:
1. Insert a Sprint SIM card (in my case it came with the device when I baught it. I never had service from sprint and I lived overseas)
2. Select settings >> Network and Internet >> Network settings reset.
3. That is it!
Please note that this method only worked when I inserted Sprint Sim card, it did not work with my actual sim card..
After the settings were reset, I removed Sprint SIM, and inserted the other SIM, and it worked perfectly!

This worked once for me, then I had to remove my tray to insert an sd-card and didn't work anymore... network settings struggle to reset (will take 10-20s and then crash out) what could it be? I'm using a heicard and discussing the procedure in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/unlocking-lg-g8-sprint-bad-esn.4092771/page-2
UPDATE: if you still get the "SIM not provisioned for voice" message, do a backup, then full restore of the phone, then repeat the above steps. You should now be able to make phone calls, but not connect to LTE. Download an app called "AddAPN" from the play store and manually save the Access Point Name for your carrier (yours will be different from mine, but I'll add it as reference, it's in italian, but you should get the gist, relevant steps are 10 through 14: https://www.helpforsmartphone.com/coopvoce/it/lg/g6/android-8-0/guides/22/Configurare-Internet-LG-G6)
with my sprint lg v50 and i can "Add APN" already.
i dont need an app
@en11gma Are you on android 9 or 10,and what is your security patch level?
Thanks.
