Hi!
The same thing happened to me, I couldn't send messages or call until I activated the automatic network mode, otherwise it wouldn't let me call.
I hope I have been helpful with this.

The same problem happened to me, i tried everything..
The only thing that fixed it is:
1. Insert a Sprint SIM card (in my case it came with the device when I baught it. I never had service from sprint and I lived overseas)
2. Select settings >> Network and Internet >> Network settings reset.
3. That is it!
Please note that this method only worked when I inserted Sprint Sim card, it did not work with my actual sim card..
After the settings were reset, I removed Sprint SIM, and inserted the other SIM, and it worked perfectly!

This worked once for me, then I had to remove my tray to insert an sd-card and didn't work anymore... network settings struggle to reset (will take 10-20s and then crash out) what could it be? I'm using a heicard and discussing the procedure in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/unlocking-lg-g8-sprint-bad-esn.4092771/page-2
UPDATE: if you still get the "SIM not provisioned for voice" message, do a backup, then full restore of the phone, then repeat the above steps. You should now be able to make phone calls, but not connect to LTE. Download an app called "AddAPN" from the play store and manually save the Access Point Name for your carrier (yours will be different from mine, but I'll add it as reference, it's in italian, but you should get the gist, relevant steps are 10 through 14: https://www.helpforsmartphone.com/coopvoce/it/lg/g6/android-8-0/guides/22/Configurare-Internet-LG-G6)
with my sprint lg v50 and i can "Add APN" already.
i dont need an app
@en11gma Are you on android 9 or 10,and what is your security patch level?
Thanks.

I got my lovely droid 2 global (white) today, which is amazing. However, when I turned on the phone, it required me to activate. How can I activate it in Toronto, Canada without in US? Thanks.
Exit that wizard, switch to GSM/UMTS and you are ready to go (assuming you unlocked)
hi all,
i've been using my lovely Droid 2 Global outside US for quite a while (unlocked and using GSM network), and it worked all fine till today...
i tried to install fission today, and it didn't work for me (it just won't boot up), so i restore to 2.3.29, and finally managed to boot it up...
but after i power up, and enter PIN for my SIM, it requires me to Activate the phone...when i hit Activate, it immediately show "Phone Activation not supported on this network"...any suggestion on what i should do? i think i have the unlock code that i got from the buyer, but the phone doesn't even give me a chance to enter it!!!
i don't need to use Verizon network, i just want to use my D2G under GSM!! Please help!
i should have asked: why i need to re-activate again simply bcs i restore from a SBF??? I thought it shall stay as activated and unlocked once it was done...am i thinking wrongly?!
Don't freak up. Activation is only for CDMA radio. Every time you do factory restore (wipe data) CDMA programming gets erased too. GSM radio doesn't need activation. Simply ignore this, switch to GSM/UMTS mode and start using your phone.
If you have US account and you want to reactivate so you can use CDMA roaming feature, you need to do manual activation, but you may need Verizon's support to help you with some numbers you need to put up in programming.
BTW - the boot loop happened because you didn't wipe data after SBF. Fission (and any other non-stock ROM) will cause boot loop if you don't wipe data after SBF flash. (SBF flash process does not wipe data as part of the flashing).
GSM radio need to activate to use outside USA ! You need to contact with Verizon to get unlock code or use some unlock sim

You are mistaking unlocking with activation process. On GSM you activate the SIM card (Subscriber Identification Module), while on CDMA the "SIM" is integrated in the radio, hence you activate the radio.
For Droid 2 Global since it has essentially 2 radios - a GSM and a CDMA one, for GSM you need active SIM card to activate and for CDMA you need to make sure phone's MEID is active on your Verizon account then you program it (activte) either automatically while on Verizon network by dialling *228 or manually by calling Verizon support.
For the GSM radio in D2G, in order to use non-Verizon SIM in it, you need to unlock the phone first. Once unlocked, phone remains permanently unlocked and no SBF or wipe or anything will change this status.
Hey guys. I just bought an unlocked D2G on ebay so I thought I would share my experiences.
I got to the same screen where I was told "phone activation not supported on this network" and it was extremely frustrating. my only option was to hit ok and go back to the "touch the android" screen. I tried everything including the menu button. Nothing worked. This was with my SIM card inserted.
So I took out my SIM card and tried again. this time the menu button worked; it brought up the wireless options menu. I wanted to switch to "GSM only" as I had a feeling that would fix the problem. But I was told "no GSM card, must use CDMA mode". So, feeling stuck, I called Verizon, and after waiting on hold with the first CSR, and getting about 30 seconds into the phone call with the high up tech guy, I was in the middle of telling him about how in CDMA mode the wireless options menu would come up, but not with a SIM card inserted, the wireless options menu actually did come up. So I switched to "GSM only" and I was in!
Well, sorta. I had to get the phone linked with my google account via wifi, because the phone had no internet at all. A quick search of the internet revealed that this was a common problem - "I can talk on my D2G, but no data!" I called Rogers and sure enough, there were some settings I had to change to make this work.
Go into wireless options, then mobile network settings, then GSM/UMTS options (I assume you have a D2G because you want a droid you can put your SIM card in, right?) and then to Access Point Names. As this phone is unlocked, there are no APNs listed and your phone is neutered until one is added. I had no idea because my last phone was straight from Rogers and was of course hardwired to know this stuff.
Setting up the APN is really easy. just give it any name, list the APN as internet.com, MCC is 302, and MNC is 720. That's all. Back out. You will notice nothing is showing there. Don't do it again. It's there, but it's not showing up until you reboot. On my first reboot I had the 3G icon pop up in the notification bar and just about filled my pants. finally, the phone I paid $400 for was fully functional! No issues since then. Smooth as butter.
Thanks for the information and sharing leobg and seventieslord!
Gingerbread's rolling out, I'm planning to update my dad's D2G, but we're outside the US with an unlocked phone using GSM. I was worried after updating to Gingerbread, the phone would ask for a reactivation. This thread put my mind to rest

God damned life saver ...... It is such a small change.... Add a APN.....
THANK YOU !
Hi guys.
I have been using the Honor-8 for over 6 months now. All of a sudden i am facing this really unexplained issue with my network.
I am able to make calls, send sms, use data 4G etc. but not able to receive incoming calls or sms. Sometimes calls get through but most of the time it says my number is not reachable or out of service.
I have shown my phone to my service provider. They did a network reset from their system for my number and on my phone too. It did not work. Then i did a factory reset on my phone and still it did not work. Later i even replaced my sim with a new one on the same number. This too did not help.
When i put in my sim onto another phone it works perfectly. Also when i use a different sim onto my phone then i dont face any such issue.
Can someone help me solve this issue please.

My trick fixing sudden lost of network on emui 8 and 9
Before this i have two nova 2i that sudden no service and couldn't to connect to any network at first.. without any online and google search for a guide i strugle at first but then i found a way to connect my mobile data...
1. first if u are using sim one for data switch it up to sim 2 in setting and disable ur mobile data
2.u must switch the sim 2 network to gsm only in mobile network setting
3.now swipe to ur notifications bar and enable ur data connection after successfully connect to 2g network click on the 4g icon at ur status bar .. walla a internet connection successfully been initiated...
4.Repeat all the step after that for sim one if u want to use sim one as ur data sim
5.install huawei tweaker apps from playstore then enabled 4g network only from the apps do it for both sim if u want ur sim to never lost signal permenently.
***Important note if u are changing to other simcard or u format ur phone to factory settings u have to redo all the step again****
Hi all,
Here is my situation and problem. I have 2 Sims:
SIM 1: Google Fi - my personal number, I want to use it for phone calls only even though it has a small data lan
SIM 2: Verizon - work sim, I want all the data to go through here.
My setting is phone call sim 1 and data Sim 2.
When I make a phone call via SIM1, I lost LTE on my SIM2.
I did call Verizon to get the CDMA LESS feature turned on.
If I were to change the setting to phone call and data through the same sim, then VoLTE works just fine. So I think this is an issue with the phone itself/settings.
Thoughts?

You need to go into settings "SIM & network settings".
Select "Dual 4G networks".
I don't have your issue.

I have a similar problem. Voice on SIM1 data on SIM2 different carriers. Receive calls and text OK answering won't work. Roaming in Europe. Worked OK prior to recent update. Same setup works on Samsung S10e

Can't believe there are so few of us having this issue. Why would the LTE turn off when I'm not even using that sim?
Probably many are using just a single SIM.
Have you tried switching the sims in the slots?

I have no help. In January Mint had an issue where their SIM had to be in slot 1. So I flipped SIMs. Truphone won't work either.
Finally upgraded from my moto Z2 force. Wanted to keep all my motto mods so I purchased a Verizon unlocked moto Z4. Calling text data all work fine but I'm unable to get an option for voice over LTE and and when I make a phone call it drops to 3G. I visited a store and they replaced the SIM card. Unfortunately I'm still getting the same results, any hint tips clues on how to make this work ?

I have a Retail unlocked Z4 on verizon service, so a different situation than you. However, I have had some experience with my VoLTE disappearing from my Phone Settings>Network&Internet>Mobile Network menu.
To fix this:
1. I log into my verizon account from a pc,
2. go to Features/Add-Ons
3. Disable the Advanced Calling/VoLTE
4. Accept the terms&conditions about "changing your plan"
5. Confirm the change.
6. Reboot phone.
7. Go back into Features/Add-ons
8. Enable the Advanced Calling/VoLTE
9. Accept the terms&conditions about "changing your plan"
10. Confirm the change.
11. Reboot phone, and VoLTE should be showing back up on your phone settings (may have to give it an hour or two then try rebooting phone, just turn off and back on again).
The last time my VoLTE disappeared, I kept getting an error when trying to disable the Feature online in my account on my pc. I did the above steps disabling and then enabling a different free feature, and the end result was the same: VoLTE was back on my phone settings.
Maybe try doing something similar while viewing your TMobile acct on a computer.
Alternatively, if you have a family member or buddy that can let you pop in their VZW SIM card in your Z4, then go into their acct settings on a pc, do what I mention above, and then once you have VoLTE back on your phone settigs: Turn off phone and give them back their SIM Card, nothing would have really changed on their acct, and your phone should still have VoLTE in settings (until...I find the VoLTE disappears for me only after some of the Android security OTA updates, which fortunately/unfortunately are not really happening to our Z4s anymore).
Hope this helps.
Hello everyone !
Before you read here is the specs and what I tried but didn't work to solve this issue :
Model : galaxy s5 (klte )
OS : Havoc OS 3.7 latest
Root : magisk21.1
Solutions I tried :
1 - restarted the phone .
2- clear factory reset and reinstalling the ROM.
3- checking my IMEI and its fine doesn't need repairs *#06#.
4- switched Sim cards and tested other Sim cards still no results .
5- return the official android OS still no use .
6- any other obvious solutions didn't work such as backup and restore my IMEI/EFS , airplane mod .
7- choosing network operator in the settings results a crash while searching so I can't choose manually and only be able to let it at automatic .
so lately I just bought a 4g Sim card and I know the galaxy s5 support 4g bands as I inserted the SIM it worked normally yet I wanted to switch the band to LTE so obviously I went to *#*#4636#*#* and switched bands so I can see which one would work yet suddenly while switching a couple of times the signal stopped showing and emergency calls only even though it reads the Sim card .
i tried to manually chose network operator but it crash's while it search's for it no matter what OS I install even in original so if anyone knows a command line to manually chose a network operator that would be appreciated.
Anyone know what to do ?

You may need to contact customer support for your carrier, they may have to fix it in their network.

The thing is about my carrier that they have a terrible customer service in here as if it was almost non-existing so I'm left all alone to deal with the problem plus there aren't any customer service for Samsung or any other external fix center for smart phone that's why I had to learn things on my own.

If you can't get back into that dialer menu and if flashing the firmware isn't fixing it and if booting into recovery and factory resetting the device aren't working, I'm not sure if there is anything you can do.
