[Q] SOLVED: Homescreen spontaneously changing in touchwiz - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

SOLVED: On several occasions, including twice yesterday, the screen designated as home screen changed. All five screens remained exactly as I had them set up, but without warning a different one was the designated home screen. I have not been able to figure out how this happens or how to intentionally change the designated home screen to correct this.
Any help diagnosing this would be appreciated.
SOLUTION: Short press on any screen to switch to edit mode then touch the top of the desired home screen. Home screen switches to the desired screen.

Tracking a mystery lockup

I have had this issue forever. I have done a couple of hard resets for other reasons over the months and it stays.
I occasionally get a lockup. When I do, the phone acts alive, but the touch screen is dead. I am using the Today screen, not Sensui. The two soft keys at the bottom of the page are "Delete" and "Menu" instead of the normal "Calendar" and "Contacts". And they pull up the menus for the inbox.
So it acts as if I am in the inbox, instead of on the today screen. But I see a locked up oday screen.
And I believe it only happens if I use a photo as my today screen background. I don't think it happens with a plain background.
Has anyone else seen this?
This is a VZW device, with stock 6.5 rom. Using the today screen with Phonealarm and Pocketbreeze.
Have you installed Dynamic Resource Proxy and NoPushInternet? Those might help.
When you are "locked up", is there any way to get the touch to start working again? If your touch screen stops working completely and only a soft reset brings it back, it sounds more like a hardware issue.

[Q] Unresponsive touch screen?

I got nexus s (i9020T) recently and found the touch screen unresponsive sometimes. I've already tried several launchers(adw, lancherpro, go launcher ex), and it seems not launcher's problem. I've also tried to flash different ROMs, including CM-7rc2 and stock 2.3.3, and the problem remains.
Later I tried to bind Multi-touch Visualizer 2 to long pressing home button, and found the when screen is unresponsive, it can still detect press near edges very well, but not the center. While I press at the edge and drap across the center, it keeps tracking my finger correctly. In addition, Locking and unlocking the screen can solve the problem temporally.
I'm confused by the strange behavior, anyone experienced similar issue?
more info from test,
I connect my phone with adb, and tried to "cat /dev/input/event0"
The behavior confirms what I see in Multitouch Visualizor 2: the when the center of screen is unresponsive, nothing can be read from the device node.
I read the mxt224 touch screen controller doc, and it seems the chip features self-calibration, and thus I believe the "lock & unlock" will trigger the chip to tune it self in some way. I don't know kernel very well, so I cannot find the source code Any help please?
FYI. we are not alone.

I got this problem too whenever my phone is in my pocket facing inward.
I have tried to open the calculator to see which part of the screen having problem. Mine is usually the "8" and "5" location unresponsive if my phone stayed in my pocket facing inwards for a certain period of time.
The problem will goes off after couple of mins when i can feel that the phone is cooler than my body temp.
I knew this happens to the Dell Streak as well.

[Q] Blank Homescreen

Hello,
I can see the lock screen image and the phone unlocks but the home screen is black and blank. Icons of signal and wifi are also there but there are no tiles. When I touch the buttons I can feel vibration but nothing happens on the screen.
I looked all day today but couldn't find a solution.
Anyone had a similar problem?

[Q] screen touches do the opposite

just flashed the stock RUU back on to the phone... had issues going through the initial setup until i noticed what is going on, when i press on the left side of the screen the icon/app on the opposite responds. so for example in my keyboard, pressing q types p, caps does backspace, same goes for icons on the home screen, when i pull down notification screen and want to open settings i have to press on the clock on the opposite side. the 3 bottom buttons do work as expected.
- i restarted the deivce
- i turned it all the way off and back on
- i disabled Sense keyboard (via apps)
issue persists
anyone any ideas? help a dude out please... thanks in advance!
re-flashed stock ROM... issue persists.
nobody has seen this before?

[Q] Home button sometimes unresponsive

I've noticed that after a while, my home (circle) soft key is unresponsive--clicking on it does nothing and only the back button works and the recent apps screen freezes--shows nothing.
The phone gets to a state where it seems Lollipop's UI reboots (not the phone, just the UI), but then the same problem is immediately evident and the automatic UI reboot doesn't seem to fix it.
Any ideas?
I think I discovered the culprit for my own problem: I had a Tasker task setup to unlock the screen when I was on my home network, but not set to lock it when I left the home network. I suspect this resulted in some kind of state problem resulting in my Home Button problem. Changing my Tasker task to allow for re-locking when I left the home network seems to have resolved this issue.
