Alright, so if the OnePlus was meant to be a great mod'ers phone, which I think it is...
what's the point of OnePlus locking and bootlocking a phone they warranty even if you do unlock and boot loader unlock/root?
Thanks.
To pass CTS for Google

Exactly.

Ok, understood. Given that and OnePlus's warranty remains after flashing, etc, prompting/supporting mod'ding, would it also then be a 'violation' against the CTAS for OnePlus to 'provide' a flash tool/unlock tool?
They don't provide a flash/unlock tool.

Yes, they do not. I'm wondering with all of their fanfare about their CM, mod'ing etc, why they don't?

They most likely don't because it'd be a waste of time and effort. It only takes one fastboot command to unlock this phone, it doesn't get any easier than that.

Got it. I'm wondering if that will still be available as Android puts out "L"/other updates? Or is the ease of unlocking always going to be this simple?

The version of Android that's running on the device should have zero impact on how easy it is to unlock the bootloader, they're not really related. Unless OnePlus devices to take a drastically different approach to the device all of a sudden, things will continue as normal.

Dear Timmaa
after Code:
fastboot oem device-info
It should have a couple of lines there, both with the flag set to true.
Please note: this will erase all user data from your device, it is best to do this before turning your phone on for the first time, otherwise make sure you backup anything important.
the fastboot is still on the screen, how do i move to step 2 ? just remove the cable? force restart or how ?
Are you saying that fastboot isn't working?

i see fastboot in english and chinese on the phone, i do the commands on cmd prompt, but nothing happens to the phone when i finish the steps.
You didn't answer my question though, is fastboot working? Are you getting a response in your command prompt when you enter commands? Try this:
Code:
fastboot devices
What's the result?
Transmitted via Bacon
yes it was working in the cmd, everything was fine, except the step of the .img
now when i start the phone, i have an icon on top saying supersu is ready to root, tap to root.

Yes I got time to watch your video. Everything you're doing is correct, the reason that your attempts to flash a recovery with fastboot failed is because there was a major flaw in my guide, somehow I had left the command incomplete the last time I edited it. I've fixed it now though. So, if you still have the downloaded recovery named as 'recovery.img' the correct command is this:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
The reason you couldn't find the 'update cm recovery' option in Developer Options is because my guide is more aimed at people who have the international model and therefore have CM11S installed on their device, 'update cm recovery' is a CM11S option and so isn't present on ColorOS.
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, but thankyou for taking the time to make such a clear and descriptive video to outline the problem you were having. If you have any further questions I'd be happy to help you.

The ColorOS version is the same as the international version apart from missing just one LTE band. Have you double checked your APN settings? Go into Settings/Mobile Network/Access Point Names and make sure they're correct.

Sorry if I'm doing something wrong here, I've just made an account now because I'm in need of drastic help. I was trying to install CyanogenMod on my Moto G 1st generation. While it was on its first boot, it froze or something, so I did what the internet suggested and did a reset for everything. Then, obviously, when I tried to install CM12 again, I couldn't because it wasn't on the internal storage, and neither was the stock OS. So now all I can do is just sort of.. be on TWRP Recovery. I'm really worried about this, and all googling the question did was confuse me, so please, please, please can someone sum up what I need to do with links, just to either get CM12 back on internal storage, or recover stock. Thank you!
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. This may sound like a stupid question, but what's stopping you from connecting your phone to your PC and copying a ROM zip across to the phone?

Sorry, I probably should've specIified. This is gonna sound really stupid (again) but I installed the CM12 ROM directly from my phone in stock before I went on Recovery, so I guess what I was really asking was how I can transfer the CM12 ROM to my phone without actually using it. Thanks for replying! If I get back on my phone, I'm sure there'll be a lot of angry people asking where I've been

What do you mean by this? You have TWRP recovery on the device, right? So connect your phone to your PC and it should show up as a removable drive so you can copy a zip across.

It doesn't show up as a removable device. Usually, I have to unlock the phone first before I can access it. I'm just wondering if there's a way to flash CM12 without using moving the files into the internal storage (because I can't put it there). Or, if there's a way to get my internal storage up on the computer without unlocking my phone first (because I can't do that either)

What do you mean by unlocking the phone? When you're booted into Android? It's completely different when booted into TWRP. Do you have MTP enabled? The option is in the mount menu I believe.
If for whatever reason you can't get it to show as a removable drive (which you should be able to do), you can try the adb sideload feature. Here's a guide:
[HOW TO] ADB Sideload/Push if you Wipe Internal Storage & No ROM to Flash [19 May 15]
Sideload is good for your situation as all you need to do is put the ROM zip in your adb/fastboot folder on your PC.
Good luck!

Sorry, but I'm all out of ideas, apart from completely reflashing the device with the stock images. But that's probably overkill.

I mean completely wiping and flashing the stock images using fastboot. My guide has instructions in section 8:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2839471
But that should probably be a last resort. There are multiple discussions online that talk about the problem encountering, surely one of them will be of help. If not, then go with the above advice.

12S came out today, and since this phone isn't my daily driver right now, I figured I would fastboot 11S back on my phone, then put TWRP on it so I can flash the update from scratch etc, and about half way through installing 11S through fastboot, the screen turns off and won't turn back on. I was at more than 50% when I was flashing 11S. I have been doing this stuff for a while with a bunch of different phones. I know it's not something I did. I tried hard rebooting on and off of the charger, trying it regularly on and off the charger. I have no idea why it won't power on. Anyone experience this and know how to fix it?
