I don't have a OTG cable at the moment out else I would try a keyboard. I have long pressed and tapped on everything. Ideas?
I was using rooted stock 4.1.2 and Swype keyboard. I have searched the forum to no avail.
I just got a new USB OTG host cable. I plugged in a keyboard and viola! Now I have unencrypted the device and all is happy.

Hello Gents,
I purchased a USB OTG for my 7+ last week, all was working. the USB drives works, mouse works.
But this morning, when I tried to use the same mouse/usb drives. The tab does not seem to recognized the USB, I can see the LED on the USB blinks for a few moment and then turn off. Like it's getting power but then stop.
I tried the following.
1. reboot the tab. power on , power off. No go.
2. reboot from factory default ( yes it drives me nuts, but I did it anyway) Power Volume Up. Factory reset, data wipe. No go.
3. tried a new OTG USB cable, still does not work.
I had the Tab root before, but after the system reset, it gone back to stock firmware. The only thing I can think of is I did the latest Samsung Patch after my initial test.
When I look at the "dmesg"
s5p-ehci: detected XactErr len 0/8 retry

Does anyone have solution for this problem?

P.S. these are not the OEM Samsung USB cable. But they were working before.
Also, when I plug in an portable external HDD, it does say, High power device not supported.

try to connect all tools to usb otg hub first before you conect it to GTab. i mean if you want to connect a flash disk or a mouse, connect them to the usb otg hub first before connect it to GTab.
for hdd, you have to connect a power supply to usb otg to make it readable on GTab. i use my old nokia charger to power the usb otg hub device.

İ'm using motorola xoom us wifi model (mz604) running teameos custom rom android 4.1.2. The problem is that anytime i plug a usb mouse via otg cable, the keyboard is gone (it disappears). I can't activate both keyboard and mouse at the same time.
Is there a way to activate the touch-operated keyboard while a usb mouse is plugged?

Yesterday, I purchased an android 4.1 tablet and a tablet keyboard case for typing. I bought the keyboard because it had 2 usb ports in it. but unfortunately i am not able to use it. My tablet has a mini USB port where i can use a pendrive and even a 3g dongle via USB OTG cable. But when i connect it to the tablet keyboard it is not working. It is not showing anything, not even an error or any other message. PLease help me. How can i use the keyboard.

i recently bought a Much i5 Android device with Android 4.2.1 preinstalled.
I also bought the Flirc IR Remote adapter which I connected on the USB OTG Port. First it worked fine, but a day later the device stopped to recognize any hardware keyboard on the USB OTG Port.
What's weird ist that it still regognizes Mice and Flash drives.
When I connect a keyboard I can still see it using the app "USB Host Controller" even the name of the keyboard.
Why is it not recognized by the system itself?
I have to mention that I changed the generic.kl under system/usr/keylayout to work with the Flirc keymapping. (I already set it back to stock, but that didn't change anything)
Also before this happened there was a option to enable or disable external keyboards in the keyboard selection menu of android.
I will reward the working solution with $10.

Ok, I found a workaround:
I used the App "External Keyboard Helper" which recognises the keycodes from the external keyboard and gives me the option to remap the incoming keypresses.

Just bought a Realme 4k stick with google tv.
I used to have an android 7 tv box with mouse and keyboard.
For some reason on google tv the mouse and keyboard does not work properly.
When I go to settings it expects keyboards moves so if I click on mouse it always click on the first option.
On netflix app I can´t choose the profile on mouse, the same problem, it expects some keyboard left right, not a mouse click.
At my old android 7 tv box, the mouse right button was a back key on menu. All worked well with this setup of back and forth...

Hi there do you solve problem? I cant even use any keyboard and Mouse not even extra usb drive to watch photos etc. What kind of hub do you use? I have a hub with external power delivery where i connect power charge then connect micro usb to stick all works but when I connect any external (Mouse, kboard, usb drive) nothing happens.
