ROM suggestions pls - Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE

Hi everyone, my dad has the photon q on sprint. It has all the latest updates. It drains the battery pretty quickly. Can anyone suggest a ROM, I would prefer aosp based but open to stock based, that is easy to use and good on battery? Thanks everyone.

Stock is probably going to be the best for battery life.

Do you have any suggestions on a good stock based rom that has been debloated and has been optimized?

Unfortunately I only ran the stock ROM for a little while, and it was stock from Moto.
Fortunately Moto doesn't overly skin/theme stock phones so vanilla stock is actually quite pleasant compared to other OEM's.

CM 11 great battery life.

I have been using the Superlite CM10 JB ROM, v7.0 for a couple of weeks. It has a reputation for having an excellent battery life. For me, it is the first ROM (of many attempted) that doesn't result in daily crashes or SOD's.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1862244
Good luck.
based on my experience, Sky-JB is great, super smooth, on my advice, battery is quite amazing, you should stick to T7 versions, T10 base is good, but on my opinion, i'm really satisfied on T7 base, well overall is superb rom, fast smooth.

[REF] Best ROM/Kernel Thread

Most of you know that I'm the paladin of reporting to close threads like "What's the best ROM for this device?". Now, making this thread, I'm a big troll, I lost my fight. Peace bros [emoji111]
XDA is currently experiencing to allow questions and threads like this, everyone can write here his opinion about any ROM/Kernel and help someone that wants to know.
This rom is the best but i´m not going to tell which and the rest isn´t like that (I´m using AOSP)
Liquid smooth 3.2 is the most stable and customizable rom

Thanks again

I am on Sami OS for 2 months for now. I used 10.1 way back but I remembered it was similar to some stock if not better, then I used 11 for some time. I am not sure that I can compare it well now. And my battery is swollen. And I think 10.1 was better, but can't guarantee you.

Guys, you have tried a lot. Just try CM 10.1 once more and then compare.
Hey guys, I hear lot of you are going back to 2.3.6. Is it that good? CM11 is really fluid, but i'm tired of RIL instability. So I wonder is it worth going back? CM11 vs stock gingerbread?

No.
Use CM10.1 or a custom Sammy.
For me the best is the aospa developed by t4n017, smooth, stable and great battery drayn....
Sorry for my english...[emoji4] [emoji4]
For me the best is Vanir.
Another vanir user here. Been dirty flashing nightlys and haven't had a problem yet. Its quite stable for me, pretty quick too. Battery drain isn't too bad either.

Been on Vanir for 3 days and I'm very satisfied with my phone's performance. I'll just wait until the battery drain improves.

[Q] Which rom is actually installed on your beloved One S ?

I just read that BeanStalk development has been stopped for the One S. That made me curious about if anyone has ever used the rom and which roms and kernels are actually preferred by other One S users. AOSP or Sense, better stable or better bleeding edge?
I was on CM12, but was tired of the lack of customization. I'm currently on Ressurrection Remix, but while it works fine on this old phone, the bluetooth stops working when wifi is connected (and vice versa). Not sure why this is happening, so I may go to other ROMs to try to find one where it works, but otherwise RR has been pretty good for me.

MaximusHD 10.0.0 (4.2.2 Sense5) is most stable and battery life ROM for Ville... 4ever. Today I returned from Lollipop ROM's I love LP but battery life is extremely hopeless Mainly because of battery life I returned to Sense based ROM. About the stability on LP personally do not complain.

That is interesting, I thought it's my battery that is just dying. How much better is battery life on 4.2.2?
I really like CM 12.1 its fast and stable, but that battery life maaan... It's 12-24h max for me/ or 2,5-3 hours of screen time.

Custom Rom

Hello, Wich is the best (Performance/Battery) custom rom nowadays (Lollipop) ?
Thanks!
I used CM 12.1 for a long time (but now on marshmallow).

I use CM and the battery isn't very good, but it can easily handle a day, perfomance is great, but keep in mind that it has nightly updates and a lot of useful features. As far as I know is the most polished
is here somebody are using blisspop ? maybe this rom is more polished than CM

Due to wide array of theming and other features blisspop isnt much in performance i didnt like to compromize so i switched to a different rom for performance nd battery Nexus Experience Rom

Just got the Moto G for Christmas and I have a few questions

Hey there!
So my Nexus 5 crapped out on me and I got a Moto G 2015 for Christmas.
I just wanted to ask a couple questions before I started actually it hahaha.
Just finished unlocking the bootloader and rooting, and I was wondering how everyone likes the stock ROM?
Is it worth trying a different one? If so what is the custom ROM people generally use and how does it compare to stock?
I do really like the features stock offers like the gestures to turn on my camera and flashlight, any way I can keep/implement new actions with a custom ROM?
Final question, and it's super elementary but it's been a while since I've had to do this: If I keep my stock ROM, and I want to stay rooted and not lose data, how do I update to the 6.0 ROM while keeping all my files and apps?
So excited to use my phone, thanks!
edit: Thanks for all your input! I'm just sticking to stock for the time being, loving it so far!
Most of the people use cyanogenmod 12.1 you can always try it and if you don't like it just go back to stock. You keep the gestures for light and camera.

Cyanogenmod is almost the same as stock because both ROMs are very close to aosp, but cyanogenmod has some great features. Just try it

Motorola did a surprisingly good job in optimizing the stock Rom. For me stock has by far the best battery life. Performance wise stock vs Cyanogenmod doesn't make big difference. So it's mainly about wheather you need the additional Cyanogenmod features.
Try cm 12.1 or 13 or u can use mokee too it has great fratures too. For battery try pacman rom or cr droid rom, both have battery backup closed to stock and u can also try ressurection remix rom which has some great customisation too.
