I just finished Rooting my G3 and I wanted to know which Xposed Modules that everyone one is using and why.
Thanks for your help.
Currently I just got done installing latest test framework and installed Unicon from Google play enabled the module this is a module to run custom icon packs. So far works great.

Greenify - controlling misbehaving apps, a major battery saver.
MinMinGuard - adblocking, removes space taken up by ads as well.
Wakelock Terminator - controlling wakelocks (google play services, google search, facebook, etc)
I'm using is g3 tweaksbox for some customization. I did install Android tuner just to get rid of carrier IQ. And I use network speed indicator. I've used greenify in the past but don't feel a need for it yet on this phone.

G3 Tweaksbox, Google Now Launcher (& GLEX Module), GravityBox (KK), Android Tuner (carrier IQ fix only), and Greenify (though can't find much to tweak there).
Phone is super fast, looks great, and I experience very good battery life.
G3 tweaks box: to didn't m disable shutter noise and change some things.
Root cloaker: so u can use ISIS with root
Greenify: to stop wake locks
Play store fix: download apps not meant for my phone
Play store permissions: I can see what permissions the app is requesting ( the old way the play store was)
Wake lock terminator: to stop certain processes from waking device rather then the whole app.
Added G3 tweakbox and paid for premium also. Great app for a buck and a half ?

This may not be the place to ask this but I've tried to ask this question twice in the tweakbox forum with no replies and I'm getting frustrated. Since you are talking modules, I'll try here. I bought the paid version of tweakbox and the app is crashing every time I try to turn the quick settings mod on. I'm trying to change the color. Has anyone else had this problem?

Finally got a answer from the dev about this issue. He said it's a bug with att g3 and it will be fixed with next update.
Uninstalled all of them and my phone seems a lot quicker now. Seemed to be causing more issues than it was worth for me.

Same here as well as switching to Art. Could be placebo but I've been back and forth few times and this setup seems better.
Anyone know of a good fix to disable ascending ringtone? Tried an app but no go.
APM+ - Advanced Power Menu, Android Tuner Pro - Small tweaks to the system, App Settings - Many uses change individual app dpi, and block apps from the recents menu and resident in memory so the system will not shut it down (Viper4Android), Boot Manager - Speaks for itself, G3 TweaksBox Pro, Greenify - Save battery, NlpBounce - Reduces WakeLock, XToast - Changed the toast notification (no likey the green), xposed LED control - customize led alerts per app, XuiMod - Battery bar on nav bar.

I get the same issue but I have pinpointed the root cause to be the google keyboard? Are you using the standard LG keyboard or the Google Keyboard downloaded from the play store?
I still use the Google keyboard...There doesn't seem to be any negative effects other than the error message every reboot.

If you're running a recent CM based or aosp ROM you've most likely encountered some pretty severe battery drain from Google Play Services (or Android OS as it sometimes shows up as). Below is a procedure that will halt the battery drain, but will not affect the running of your device.
Enter Privacy Guard through Settings/Security or Settings/Privacy, then click Advanced or Show Built-In Apps (depending on which ROM you're running). From here you can select Google Play Services and deny the Wake Up, Keep Awake, and Auto-Start options. This should drastically reduce the amount of battery that Google Play Services and Android OS consume.

Quick question - are the Android Tuner and System Tuner settings necessary at all ? did you try this (both on the One X and the OPO) with just the Privacy Guard settings change ?

I don't have my OPO yet, I've tried just the Privacy Guard component but it didn't yield enough of a result, so I believe the Android Tuner and System Tuner components are necessary to properly reduce the battery drain.

When I only used the built in privacy settings it didn't do much, but oddly once I set system tuner and Uninstalled the app, I don't see Play Services under battery at all.
if I uninstall the apps, then I lose the settings that the apps have set. @timmaaa - can you confirm that we cant install android tuner and system tuner, AFTER we have done your changes.
Secondly, I'm getting a few Play Store force-closes after I did these changes. Can you let us know *exactly* which things did you change ?

You can't uninstall the apps, they're the only thing that's reining in Google Play Services. I've had zero issues with any Google services after making the changes. This method disallows Google location reporting, it disallows Play Services waking the device and keeping it awake, and it also disallows Google from gathering information for targeted advertising.
Sent from a crappy Samsung because my Evita died
@timmaaa - one suggested improvement. You dont need to install "System Tuner".
Android Tuner -> Sidebar Menu -> Apps Manager -> Application Startups gets you to the same options as System Tuner.
Thanks @sandys1, changes finally made to OP.

I always use PA gapps and still had issues with Google Play Services. I don't use this device much anymore anyway since it won't stay powered on unless it's connected to a charger. It's gonna act as a WiFi router from now on I think. I have the OnePlus One as my main device now anyhow.

@timmaaa , don't with problems users are having but for me :
1-re-browse your old tutorial from webcache
2-after following your recommendation unchecking permissions in 3C toolbox
3- google play services never went to sleep , kept wake locking the phone
if that the bug every one is having , the fix is just by re-check the folllowing
com.Google.android.location.reporting.preferencese

Thank you for your useful post! The changes with App Ops have noticeable positive impact on battery life. I only had 2-3 crashes of Google Play Services after those changes. If those crashes happen again, I will switch options one by one to default to check what crashes Google Play Services.
___
EDIT: Google Play Services crashed because Auto Start was disabled. I enabled it again and now it's OK. Additional impact had switching off of "Location reporting" in Settings -> Location. That provides Google with continuous updates on your location, which triggers an *alarm* that wakes up the device even if Google Play Services is denied of accessing your location. Crucial impact had switching off "Wake up" and "Stay awake" for Facebook in App Ops and then greenifying it (I know it's not related to Google Play Services, but whoever is interested in preserving the battery with App Ops would make use of noting this, but be advised - you lose notification updates from Facebook).
I'm using an AOSO-ish KitKat ROM, and installed AppOps through Xposed framework. I only show the "keep awake" setting and not "auto start" or "wake up." Are these older versions you're talking about and what is does PA mean in the above posts? Thanks in advance.

Remember that time when your device lost 50% of battery life during the night because a gazillion services from careless apps kept keeping your device awake and you have no way to disable them?
Or when Facebook kept waking up your phone for no reason and you find no way to fix it other than uninstalling it?
Servicely to the rescue!
First of all make sure you're ROOTED (it won't work otherwise). You'll be able to select which apps will be put to sleep when the display goes off. Just like magic!
You can also disable/enable permanently any service on your device. It's useful if you have services that tend to auto-restart and keep your device awake, or if you have games sending you never-ending notifications.
This app is somewhat powerful so act responsibly when using it. I'm more than happy to help if you contact me

The apk in the Play Store is free with ads, but I've disabled the ads for the apk below. You can still purchase the key from inside the app which helps me keep producing stuff for you, but you don't have to do so.
You can choose between two "sleep" modes. The soft mode I assume it's probably similar to what Greenify does. The hard mode completely disables the apps you've choosed during screen off, and re-enabled during screen on. This mode removes any shortcuts or widgets from those disabled apps, but this is the most secure way to guarantee those apps won't wake up or do something crazy. That said, you'll be fine with the soft mode.

Looks promising. Might replace greenify this little gem, thank you??
Enabled pro and start on boot but after closing the app an open it again, it shows this.
Should greenify be disabled/uninstlled before using servicely??
Really like this app! This is like the perfect version of greenify. And probably with more features to come. I was just wondering, is it save to add google play services to list? Or wil I loose allot of functionality with the apps that rely on google play services?
Will this also stop notifications from the app when you have it disabled? Like fb, instagram, xda and twitter?
@franciscofranco
Another possible improvement for your new app:
- With the pro Version there is the option to start the service automatically with the boot. If you boot the device there is no information like "set on boot service has been..." Dont know if you need this message on the boot like in FKU for you new app, but maybe you could make it as an option
and: if you close the app from the task manager, you see the normal action: app is restarting. After the restart the settings/killing apps applies again?
i instantly bought the pro version, before even using it
And if you add a new app to the service, it will be killed after 60 secs? or is first a reboot needed?
And if you kill an app like google keep, can the changes still be synced?
Sorry for the large amount of quetions, i´ve never used apps like this
wow... really like this... thanks franco
just a request for someone who knows... we can get a list with safe services to kill?

Yeah... does this have the background sync feature which I believe Greenify has??
Gonna try this for a while and replace greenify if it's better
Thanks
So if a service is idle, let's kill it every minute. The service restarts - which would come with a CPU/memory expense greater than if it had remained idle - and repeat this every minute?
This doesn't seem like an informed decision. It could just be a checkbox in an application's settings that would alleviate the service from repeating.
I don't see why you don't educate people on looking at application's checkboxes.
@franciscofranco I'm a fan of your work and this app looks beautiful. However, I have a pretty stupid question. How is this different from a task killer and automated killing? I thought those were bad, but is this different?
Turned it off for Google play music, google keyboard, Google play services, lmt. I ran into issues with app fc here.

no if an app is selected, it has nor background sync - tested it with telegram (btw with greenify donation it doesn´t work too...)
will test Servicely for a while and report back. If it does a well job, then goodbye Greenify
This app keeps closing apps that I'm using. I thought it only closes if the app is in the background? For example, I'm watching a YouTube video and it just closes.
Umm, this is essentially a task killer....
I don't understand the difference from a task killer. Task killers drain more battery. If it kills a service, it autorestarts, right? Or it is like greenify, keeps the service from starting?
I've tried this with whatsapp and didn't work. I know that is not suppose to kill services in the background, but what does it is suppose to kill? If it is not in the foreground, it is in the background... For an intense, having facebook installed, there is always a background service, this will never kill it, right?
It would be great if if would work better thank greenify, and stopping services from getting started.
Great work Franco! Testing now
I have Greenify, not sure if I'll use this... but purchased paid pro version to support Franco and his awesome Kernel (and other dev projects).

For some reason, a lot of manufacturers seem to have a problem with us customizing our own devices, to the point where some disable the built-in Android SystemUI Tuner.
This app aims to fix that problem, by providing a replacement. For the most part, this is a replica of Android's SystemUI Tuner; however, there are a few extra goodies that Android's solution doesn't include by default.
While I made this for my LG V20, since LG removed the stock SystemUI Tuner, I see no reason why at least the core features won't work on other devices. Even if you have the stock Tuner already, go ahead and try this app out. There are some extra features for you.
Now for some notes:
- This app does NOT require ROOT, but you will need to grant some permissions using ADB (instructions in app).
- This app should work on any device running Android Marshmallow (6.0) or above.
- This app is EXPERIMENTAL! Certain features may not work on your particular device. If they do not, that is unfortunately out of my control.
I'm always looking for things to add, so if you have a suggestion, I'd love to hear it.

Quote "For some reason, a lot of manufacturers seem to have a problem with us customizing our own devices, to the point where some disable the built-in Android SystemUI Tuner." I have the same problem, why did I pay £600+ for the computer in my pocket if it's to be owned/ controlled by the manufacturer. Is it mine or their's ?
I'm making some good progress on a non-root version. So far the status bar icons work. I'm having trouble with intents, so Demo Mode is going to hold this back a bit.
There will be some setup required using ADB if you don't have root, but it's just a permissions grant, and there will be instructions.
So far I'm loving it, although the orientation lock icon is really bugging me. Other than that, I don't have any problems, great job!

Really the only thing I'm trying to do with is app is replicate and improve SystemUI Tuner. To actually move items, I'd need to modify the SystemUI itself, which would be a lot of work to make universal.

Hey Guys,
I am finding the Optimiser app to be stopping notifications from coming up on some apps, such as pushbullet, messaging to some extent, and so on until i open the app.
It seems the huawei battery optimisation is pretty aggressive. I went through a discovery process years ago with battery optimiser apps that from what I understood, basically boiled down to them being unnecessary for most devices at that version of android.
My question is, can I remove the huawei optimiser app using ADB, is it safe to do so? I don't want to individually have to tell the optimiser app to not optimise each app as I download them. I just want to remove the optimiser and be done with it, but i also still want to know batterybusage of apps etc if they get out of control and android isnt natively dealing with them properly then id like to remove them.
Thoughts on this, anyone?
Thanks very much,
Good question, it's also seem to be very resources hungry. I had to keep mine because I need to for maintaining my existing call block lists.

You can't have both, you can kill power genie and have all apps run as they were intended, OR you can have per app battery use stats, killing power genie will break that function
https://dontkillmyapp.com/huawei
Personally it's a small price to pay to fix everything else and makes no difference to battery life

You still had issues with notifications not coming through even when battery optimization and adjusting Launch settings manually was configured?

Yea, WhatsApp point blank refused to give me any notifications at all unless I opened the app, tried absolutely everything related to the battery/launch etc settings, nothing worked, it's because power genie has a white list of apps that are allowed to run in the background and you cannot edit that list
Thankfully killing PG was nice and easy and ended my months of annoyance of missing messages

I adb uninstalled Optimiser App, it took a good few things with it also including ability to block black listed numbers that I had have stored and also the battery menu I think in settings also disappeared completely.
You can see what the Optimiser app is running system app wise , under developer option then running services. It's the 2nd Android system with mutiple processes running. I turned off virus checker but it still seems to be running as you can see.

Was only Power Genie you were supposed to uninstall, I lost per app battery stats but nothing else, but since upgrading to 10 I haven't had to kill it yet, WhatsApp is running as it should this time

Ah right with you now, only sounds like blocked numbers might be a pain to lose really, not had any issues with the optimizer app though
Noticed any improvements since killing it ?

No, I didn't have it uninstalled long enough to verify. I needed my block call list.

ROOT access is required for this app!
This app automatically modifies wide range of low-level system parameters using ROOT access. By using this app you agree with EULA and any possible risks.
FeraDroid Engine (FDE) - an All-in-One ultimate optimizer for all devices running Android OS. All parameters are individual for EVERY device depending on it's hardware/software characteristics. All parameters are very balanced - you may gain performance without increase of power consumption AND reduce power consumption without losing performance. FDE.AI is totally compatible with very wide range of devices and Android OS versions. Very wide-range settings of OS and Linux kernel are configured, still being cross-platform utility, maximally compatible with all devices. FDE.AI applies configurations depending on hardware and software of device, so that in the end every device is configured individually. All applied changes are systemless (system partition is not touched). Some app features may not be supported on various CPUs/kernels.
Make a backup of your data just in case before installing this app. Don't use any other All-in-One tweakers with FDE.AI or things may get bad!

No...it's not open source. He doesn't want to share his methods of 'machine learning' IIRC. I bought n tried v6.0.
I had been using L-Speed's 'Balanced' setting at the time. Tried FDE's performance setting...noticed no improvement. /js
Bump of this thread. Updated docs & info. Pushed v9.2 free version.
I'm using 9.2.4 and I've noticed one bug which might or might not be of pure visual nature. Anyway when I select an app to be preloaded, upon next reboot this app is replaced with the one listed just above it...
Hello I've bought and use the app for some time, overall it's pretty good. However I want to know more in details about some of the AI function/options that's not really explained everywhere in more detail (afaik), some clarification would be great
1. the difference between normal and alternate doze (how they works and stuff)
2. toggle bg apps kill (#killbgapps / #dontkillbgapps), what's this? what's the default config for fresh fde and what will it affect?
Hello.
I'm using Poco F1 , with Official corvus os and greenify and no other mods and stock kernel. I installed the free version and now my charging speed is way to slow after the installation.
While charging I switched of the phone, only to see the phone automatically trying to boot and then showing the charging logo, after seeing it, I disconnected the charger and booted into system.
Please help op if you could fix the charging issue, I would really love to buy it.

Will check that. Actually preload is dropped after reboot, so it should be enabled manually after every reboot. Thanks.

1. In first case used direct force deep doze mode. On some heavy modified systems like MIUI this causes various issues, so i came out with another method - dumpsys deviceidle step x3 times - this avoids direct force doze but makes it skip idle wait, motion sensor check steps & go directly to light doze - this way it doesn't conflict with nothing, but may not work as well as expected. Simply - use alternatedoze only if you have troubles with normal doze.
2. #killbgapps executes only once you type it - it doesn't do it automatically. Issued 'am kill-all' commad which is nearly same as you'd clear all your recents, while cached data is still in ram.

Hi, maybe try to change kernel - in last FDE versions I removed anything that can be related to charging. If you will buy pro version, you can get refund if things 'll go wrong & you want to uninstall it. Thanks.
Seems working
I think i see some differences
Android 10 keeps applying restrictions for the app not use battery in background, after every reboot of the system, should I worry about that? Also, can I leave fde in that "optimized" list in settings/battery management?
Fde is amazing , thanks!
Has the paid version been removed from play store?
I can only find the lite version.

Looks that way, followed a link from google search and linked to "page not found". I uninstalled it due to a bug that made bluetooth skip alot. Sucks cause it was great when it worked. Wish I would of backed it up.
