Strange. It should have worked, the error message is normal, it happens to everyone.
Did you enable USB Debugging before attempting to root?
Which version of GingerBreak did you use?
1.2 worked for me.
The message "did not know what was going on but you need to restart phone" means that the app could not restart the phone by itsself. SO you need to do that.
After the restart you have to install superuser and busybox. One more restart after that and your done.
Die you restart your phone?
yeeeee..rooted!something was very wrong..my wifi got error message so i update with shipped rom and got my wifi back, then gingerbreak and busybx and its f$%^& rooted now
Flash a rooted rom is simple.
mod can lock this one.

Did you try running the motochopper or the Xperia_L_Root script again?
Delete SuperSU and maybe try again. And please tell if any errors occurred during the running of the script(s).

I did root once again using Xperia_L_Root script and before doing that I had uninstalled SuperSU.
Also, there was a problem while rooting. The script said 'Failure' somewhere but still it continued and also said the Exploits were pushed successfully

Have u tried using motochopper only?
Update SU from play store (don't open yet) and install Busybox. After installing busybox, open SU. SU will recognize busybox and install the binaries!
If this dosen't work then use motochopper again.
I just ran that script once again, it works now. Thanks
Use Backup TA

Hey Navneet thanx,,,,,, The problem is solved.... Here are the steps that i followed
uninstalled super user from my device
rooted the phone with motochooper
Installed superSu (when you root with motochopper you will already have super user installed on your device but the binaries were not installed so instead what i did was installed SuperSu of chanfire so that i will get a conflict message and the chainfire will unstall the default super user and update the binaries for me.
And Bingo! Luckily it worked...............

Hello guys! My name is Vlad, this is my first post here and this is my first time trying to root a phone. I got a little problem so I would really appreciate if you could guide me a bit step by step out of it.
I have a Sony Xperia L phone and I have tried to root it using an app that uses Motochopper exploit, downloaded from this link:
htt p:// ww w.4shared.com/zip/6WyYYjpCce/Xperia_L_ROOT .html
delete the spaces in order for the link to work. Sorry for not respecting the rule but there would be no other way to show what I used
It seems to work but I have an error that occurs at the end:
"Rooting phone...
This may take a few minutes.
Failure.
Cleaning up...
Exploit complete.
Press enter to reboot and exit."
I have tried the ideas mentioned until now: reboot, reinstall, update, etc. but nothing seems to work. Any idea to help me please?
P.S. I am not trying to offend anyone by saying this but if I need to use some program to install something complicate please explain me as I am a beginner into this.
Thank you!

There is no way you can get back TA partition if you lost the backup too. But its just for some warranty and DRM purposes. It shouldn't affect the user experience in general. As for Whatsapp and other updates, its completely unrelated to rooting or TA partition.

Hey guys,
Just got my OnePlus One today and did a oem unlock and root/custom recovery via command line, and I have the SuperSU app installed, it works when starting, installs successfully (or so it says) but whenever I try to use an app requiring SU access it just crashes and doesn't prompt me for access...
What happen and how do I fix it?
Update with screenshots
So I tried the windows AND Mac toolkits. The windows one just doesn't detect java so it doesn't work at all, and the Mac one "worked" but I'm still getting the exact same issue. Super SU is installed, and apparently working, but doesn't give root.
Shot 1 is my SuperSU app - clearly says SU is Enabled.
Shot 2 is Root Checker....which is clearly showing that I don't have root.
Wat.
Any help would be HUGELY appreciated as I'm very excited to use this phone...but oh god how spoiled I've been with AdBlocking. No root is poop.
Your post is so confusing..... just download http://download.chainfire.eu/451/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.01.zip
and flash it in TWRP then reboot.

Inside SuperSU app, in the settings ...
Scroll down to the CyanogenMod heading ...
Make sure that the RESPECT CM ROOT SETTINGS is unchecked.
I had to do this to get Titanium Backup to respond.
Good luck.

THAT did the trick. I'm guessing it's because the app thinks we're running CM that it comes with SU.
Thanks for the hand.
I am kinda in a pickle here. I was rooting my phone using this Chinese .exe application and it had a big check Mark on the screen so I unplugged my phone. Mistake. It turns out that it kinda rooted my phone. No root apps work because the super su app that it downloaded with root was not working. I opened it up and it said I had to update my su binaries or something so I hit continue and it had an error that it couldn't download. I then tried installing titanium backup to try and uninstall it but sense I need super su to give it root, I can't uninstall it because of the super su problem. I tried installing superuser and it didn't work. Now I'm stuck because I can't fully root my phone with other ways which I have no idea why and i can't uninstall the bad super su app because I need it to work for me to be able to do it. I tried flashing my rom again but this stupid error saying I had to have internet to update software kept me from doing that and I DID have full internet access. I am stuck. Why can't their be just some extreme data reset that REALLY resets your phone. My phone still works fine but I have cod and having this problem is killing me, I almost can't even use my phone. PLEASE HELP I REALLY NEED IT!!!!

If you cannot update binaries, that usually means SuperSU cannot access root.
With a root browser (you shouldn't need root to do this though) look in /system/etc/init.d. Look for 99SuperSUDaemon. Also in /system/xbin look for daemonsu and su. Tell me if any of those are missing.

Hi . I present new method to get Root with last build of KingRoot . Main advantage is KNOX 0x0 . And then if you want you can to change him to superSU .
Get Root without a computer, on any version of Android, you can use the latest (4.62 as of this writing) version KingRoot. Complete information here KingRoot http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/one-click-root-tool-android-2-x-5-0-t3107461 . (Read required).
So what we need to do to get Root .
Download the installation program KingRoot v.4.62
Attached below .
Turn on : debugging via USB, boot from unknown sources, and Wi-Fi.
Then install and run the program Kingroot. You make a couple swipe up and click on "Try". Next, the program also checks the possibility of installing Root , and eventually appear at the bottom of the key "TRY TO ROOT". Hit it, and wait patiently for the end of the process. Screenshots are in OP KingRoot thread .
For T337A owners : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64747325&postcount=14 and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/rooted-nk2-att-t377a-t2992639
If there is a need to replace Kinguser to superSU, it is easy to do using the Super-Sume http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/supersu-please-t3110954 . Working version 9.1.9 SuperSU Me-Pro .
For 5.1.1 owners you must to try Super-Sume build 9.2.6 or above . Notice for 9.2.6 build :
SuperSU Me Pro v9.2.6 Patched
What's New
- Please leave a review, I need to hear from you
- Updated SupeSU to v2.52 to support newer Android builds
- Hopefully this will help with Stage 2 hanging for some users
- Kingo root users, on Stage 2 the app might hang, just force close it and run it again..
- Watch for SuperSU to prompt you for root access at re-launch
- Yes you will now be prompted for SuperSU to update binaries, just choose Normal.

Fyi, I just ran this on my verizon tab4 10.1 lte (smt537v) and it worked after first reboot, but after running super su me and rebooting, it is stuck in a boot loop. I can still get into download mode so I should be able to flash a factory image through Odin when I have a computer in front of me as long as the computer will recognize the device. So be careful because I followed the directions correctly and ended up screwing things up

Thanks, I may need some help if the computer doesn't recognize the device because of debugging or the bootloop it's in. Before I rebooted, it was in debugging mode but I'm not sure now. I've been playing around with Samsung stuff for a while now (rooting, flashing, some build Prop editing, etc) but I'm no pro. I pretty much just research and follow directions. I'll find out if I need help when I hook it up to the computer. Thanks again
