One E8 and Touchdown - HTC One E8

Hi All,
Anyone using Touchdown with a One E8?
I have an issue. On my previous phone (HTC One X) I used to have 'Agenda Widget' on my home screen to display upcoming appointments from Touchdown, Google calendar, etc. After I switched to the E8, I cannot get any 3rd-party widget to see my Touchdown calendar anymore. I tried 'Agenda Widget', 'Calendar Widget' and 'Business Calendar', They all can display data from lots of sources, but Touchdown is not even listed amongst them...
I contacted Touchdown support, but they didn't have much suggestions so far.
I appreciate if you could share your experience.

Do you use native Touchdown widget, or the Agenda Widget from Google Play?
The native Touchdown widget works, but it displays only Touchdown calendar. 3rd party widgets from Google Play (like the 'Agenda Widget') are able to display appointments from different calendars, and that's what I'm looking for... Unfortunately, none of them are able to see Touchdown calendar on my phone for some reason...

Ok sorry I didn't understand your request. I don't use agenda widget ?

Can you please try one of these widgets - let's say, the Calendar Widget (this is the one I have installed at the moment) and see if you will have Touchdown in the list of available calendar sources?
I'm about to hard reset my phone and start setting it up from scratch (without restoring any backups). But if you will face the same issue - then it's likely that the hard reset won't help in my case...
Thanks a lot in advance!

I did reset my phone, installed just the Touchdown and the Calendar Widget. No luck, I still cannot see Touchdown calendar in the list of available sources.

Samsung Galaxy S Calendar

I'm frustrated with the Samsung Galaxy S' calendar. My important appointments make a little low *bip* sound and that's about it. I tried to use Calendar Snooze, but I can't get it to work. Apparently you should be able to select snooze option from the Calendar app but it doesn't work because no such option is available on my phone. Changing the sounds in the phone settings makes no difference. Any ultra mega hacker who knows how to take control over the calendar notifications?
yes, this is a bug or not but a very tiresome. i need this knowledge too how can i change.
Mine uses the default notification sound.
Menu-> Settings -> Sound & Display -> Notification ringtone, pick one.
I take that back. I used Calendar Notifier from Market to solve that specifically without rooting. You could also root and replace the TouchWiz calendar with the Android stock calendar.apk. the instructions, etc are here
when syncing with exchange, docs attached to meeting notices don't show up as downloadable like they do in email. Anyone know of a way around this or a Calendar alternative that does recoginize attachements embedded in calendar appointments?
nobody can share any insight on this?
since nobody responded to my question, just wanted to update and say that as of now the only work around i've found is to download the attachment(s) while the meeting notice is still an email (i.e. before you accept it so its added to your calendar). If anyone has a suggestion for a better way of handling embedded docs in calendar appointments, i'm all ears. Thanks.

Hi, on my business laptop with MS Windows and Outlook 2010 I use a tool named "Google Calendar Sync" to synchronize Outlook calender with my Google calender. Just search on Google for "Getting started with Google Calendar Sync".
Another way to get Outlook stuff synchronized with your Galaxy S is to use your Exchange account. But I don't want to use exchange on my Galaxy S because of battery drain. So this tool is a good compromise ;-)
Hi, here are my two cents: I'm using Touchdown for syncing my company MS Exchange account. It does download the meeting attachments when viewing mails/meeting notes, so this might help you out.
It is quite expensive (around 14 euro) but it is by far better than the stock exchange app and the support is perfect when mailing them. The other plus is that you can set whether you want to pull or push at certain times.
Having said that there are some downsides as well: the UI is (mildly said) very basic and its calendar looks like the programs from the 80s (but there are a few market calendar apps which one can use to view the meetings list)
Hmm.. I agree that this sounds pretty much like spamming but cross my heart: I'm just a happy Touchdown user (using some other apps as well to make my daily life organized) sharing my experience.
I hope that this answer your help call.
Cheers,
Rocky

Native Exchange Calendar

Hey All,
Is there and Android native app that syncs your exchange calendar with your google calendar...
Like Moxier, Touchdown, etc. are all fine, but they have their own calendars - I just want one calendar with everything (in this case, my google calendar)...
Yeah, I know there are desktop apps, but these are useless if you're on the road for weeks and only carrying your beloved Android phone...
Thanks!
Thought I'd answer my own question since no one else could... That way, if anyone else wants an answer to the same question, here it is...
Yes - 2.2 gives you exchange calendar sync, so all your appointments appear on the one android calendar. Nice - no need for Moxier, Touchdown or anything, and I only have to look at one calendar to find out my schedule, not 3...

LauncherPro mail/calendar sync?

Ok so I've bought LP but have a problem. It won't sync with my Googlemail account. Add the GMail widget, nada. Add the calendar, nada.
I have removed my Gmail app (root) in favour of the SE mail client, so maybe this has effect but surely the calendar should sync? I have my google mail account configured in Accounts & sync and it works fine elsewhere.
Anyone else run into this problem? There are lots of hits on a Google search, but no answers that I can find. I'll post to LP's board if no-one knows but figure the responses here will be better
My bad - it seems that you need to have the stock calendar sync'd to Googlemail & then LauncherPro feeds off it. I just didn't expect that cuz I had other 3rd party calendars that didn't depend on the same

[Q] Exchange 2010 Calendar on my Galaxy Nexus

Hi...
I have a new Galaxy Nexus. Everything is fine so far. I different mail accounts installed (gmail, pop2, MS Exchange 2010).
The mails and the contacts from my Exchange account are shown and synced without problems. But the calendar does not show at all. Its not even listed in my available calendars nor is it in the list of the calendars to sync.
My phone is running on Android 4.0.1, Baseband I9250XXKK1...
I hope someone can help me... I do not want to use a 3rd party product. I like the look and feel of the calendar app.
Thank you!

Hi Timmy...
Thanks for the answer. The sync with email and contacts works without any problem...
I tried the touchdown App yesterday. There also the calendar sync works fine. But I would like to use the builtin Calendar and not a 3rd party App.
Thank for the support!

[Q] Google Calendar Widget planner

I have the Google Calendar planner widget on multiple devices. It only shows items coming up in the next couple of weeks, regardless of how many items are entered in the future. How do I get it to show, and scroll beyond this to show all future events?
Is there a better app widget that will sync to my Google calendar?
bump
Anyone?
Am I asking in the best place?
I prefer Jorte, the widget is much better and it syncs with Google Calendar just fine.
Tx
Will try it.
